Located approximately 12 miles south of Breckenridge in the Placer Valley area, you will enjoy breathtaking vistas of the entire surrounding valley, and 14,000 foot mountains. Just across the road, the South Platte River features GOLD MEDAL TROUT FISHING.
In the evening, relax and stargaze from our large eight-person hot tub or on the wrap around deck. Riverview Lodge has four bedrooms; two up and two down. There are four private bathrooms with two showers & tub. Main three bedrooms have queen-size log beds; fourth bedroom is a "kids" bunkhouse room with full-size bed, and three single bunk beds. Main Living room upstairs; family and game room downstairs, with fireplaces on both levels. Riverview is ideal for medium to larger groups. Nestled in Nature with great trails for hiking or biking out any door. And there's plenty of entertainment always available in the "recreational /game room" with ping pong and foose ball tables, videos, CD's, DVD's, puzzles and other fun board games.
A short twelve mile drive over Hoosier Pass puts you into beautiful Breckenridge for WORLD CLASS SKIING, shopping, golfing, music and dining. Or, you can enjoy cross-country skiing, fishing, biking, snowshoeing, and hiking, without leaving wonderful Placer Valley. Montgomery Lake and wilderness areas are but a mile away, while Fairplay and Alma ( two historic mining towns ) are only two to six miles away and also offer restaurants, shops and video rentals.
THERE IS SO MUCH TO DO YEAR ROUND, PLAN TO COME AND STAY A WHILE.

Why the Owner Chose Alma
We like this area for MANY reasons - It's peaceful and quiet - semi-secluded and surrounded by Nature - gorgeous views of mountains and creeks in all directions. We like to be a little bit away from the congestion & crowds but easily accessible to skiing and boating & all the other fun Mtn activities. We can hike right out our front & back doors on roads & trails - Mongomery Reservoir and other Lakes are close by and the laid back small towns of Alma and Fairplay are really close - as is the more busy glitzy glamour of Breckenridge - so we feel we have the best of BOTH Worlds to offer!
The Unique Benefits at this Lodge
Whether you just want to kick back and relax & read or go for an outing in Nature we have a lot to choose from in all directions. We have Wi-Fi and good cellular coverage for most carriers - so some folks - including most of our ownership Team - can actually do work from the home and play as well - without any hassles. We enjoy a large Hot Tub - bicycling around the area and just enjoying what the Great Colorado Outdoors has to offer in general - Come and see for yourselves!

Gorgeous area but following issues degraded the experience: - Too many contact people answered questions and did not have a local person ultimately responsible (Did not even provide correct combination to lock box near door to gain entry). - Road to cabin is in attrocious shape (it will annoy you after the 2nd trip). Not necessarily owners fault but it is a problem. - Yard to property was unkept and unmowed. - WiFi did not work and they didn't do enough in my opionion to make it work... an attitude of oh well. It was never made operational during our stay. - Satilite TV did not work and required me to hook it up correctly. I don't want these problems on vaction. No guarrantee the next occupant would not experience the same fate. - Furniture was not in good shape. - Kitchen was not clean. - Hot tube was great but only part of the jets were operational. This place needs some TLC by a non absent, locally available owner.
Owner response:This is a cabin in the middle of the Colorado Rockys, We have a chain of people that try to make your stay great. We have a standard email that is sent out with a combo and if this isn't working a key hidden. As to the road I stated above it a in the mountains and it is on a lot that the grass grows around the home. We have other homes that has pine needles all over the ground can't fix mother nature.When it comes to internet or the TV I belive that we had a tec come out to look at everything he said it was working fine. Again this is not a 5 star hotel it is a cabin and the furniture will have there issues.(only 15 mins is Breakenridge you would have paid over 3000 to 5000 for the samething.) We are sorry the kitchen was not cleaned and that person has be fired. Hot tub has been working great from the last report we have had by our hot tub tec. So I feel this is a 4 to 5 star CABIN.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Riverview Lodge has a wonderful charm with aspen log beds & trim that invites a relaxing laidback feeling. It has great views of forests & mountains and trails nearby for easy escapes into Nature. We liked the fact that it's out of the busy noisy crowds in Breck yet easy to get to and from. We found it to be a great way to unwind in a very spacious home without paying big bucks in Breck. We ski in winter and fish in summer and love to return every year. We highly reccommend this place to all.
