Lilac Place is centered on upper Penobscot Bay in historic Stockton Springs- with easy access to Bangor (airport) or to Searsport (deep water seaport 1 of only 3) - or to the wondrous towns of Searsport and Belfast. Winterport is "just up the street " with an award winning winery. AND, we are 6 miles from the Original Fort Knox and its beautiful campus that also is home to the tallest observation tower in the Western Hemisphere - Penobscot Narrows Bridge & Observatory " On a clear day you can see forever" and from the Penobscot Marine Museum - the oldest in Maine with a campus of 12 buildings, most on the National Register. Penobscot Bay is considered one of the top ten sailing bays in the world.
We are less than an hour to Acadia National Park - Bar Harbor - (whale watches)- Camden - (tall ship windjammers) - Bangor International Airport. Minutes to Searsport (antique capitol of Me.) Sears Island, flea markets, marine museum; great book stores; Toziers family market, restaurants. Minutes to Belfast, the hospital, shopping district, quaint movie theatre, restaurants, art galleries, funky & cool places, sailing and lots to do.
Lilac Place can be rented as the entire house - or separated into 2 apartments.
The Trillium is the largest apartment - Second floor - approximately 1100 Square Foot with 2 full bedrooms, and a child's bedroom, plus a very comfortable queen sleeper-sofa.
The Columbine is the First floor 1 bedroom ( double bed) apartment approximately 713 Square Feet.
Both apartments are charmingly decorated - and have just been totally remodeled.
Easy access to some of the best yet least expensive restaurants, serving wondrous seafood and to many Parks such as Fort Point Light House complete with the moat that protected them, the Light House itself and then the Original Fort Knox where a shot was never fired and now the Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observatory the only kind in this world. While the bridge is similar to one in Boston - it has its differences - first in architecture and while the Observatory is similar to one in Thailad it is also different. And last - visit Sears Island - the largest uninhabited island on the east cost (940 acres - hike it - bike it - whatever - it is free access .
