  My husband and I booked our yearly vacation here and it turned out to be exactly what we wanted; beautiful outerbanks, quick and easy beach access, no crowds and to just get away from it all. Happy Yours Beach Cottage fit my 4 inlaws, us and our two dogs comfortably. The downstairs apartment area worked out great to give my family even more room than we expected with one couple staying down there and 4 adults upstairs. We woke up one morning to the wild horses grazing around our front and back yard area, it was absolutely amazing. The owners of the home were more than accomodating and quick to respond with any questions or concerns we may have had. We strongly reccomend Happy Yours if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing, get away from it all vacation!

  The moment the tires hit the sand, the windows and heart rate go down immediately. Worries wash away with the sounds of the ocean. If an uber relaxing trip to the beach is what you are looking for than Happy Ours is the place. We are repeat customers, bringing sisters/aunts and friends with us each year. The cottage is quaint, and has all the creature comforts you need. The open kitchen/living area makes chatting with family and keeping an eye on the little ones a breeze. We dine mostly on the screened porch--it's got plenty of space for the family, the cooler and several chairs (provided.) Most days, you've got the beach to yourself, though the jeep tours seem more frequent. Stuff the SUV with your tent shade, cooler, towels and sand toys and you are golden. With a little one, the trips to the beach get shorter, but nap times can be spent lounging on the deck on one of the awesome adirondack chairs and a non-work book. I actually get my best sun back there! You are definitely close to nature, with wild horses and my favorite discovery-- a giant turtle! But, this also means you need to bring your bug band (awesome invention) for late night walks or jogs. You'll be a pro at trips to town in no time. Corrolla Village has a great BBQ place and the lighthouse is always a sweet place to visit. But, if you are like us, once you're there, you just want to turn it off. The family is always helpful if you need anything, so don't hesitate to ask. Pack your sunscreen, favorite beach food (fajita makings and orange cupcakes for us) and ditch the flipflops at the door!

  The owners of this property are excellent to work with and very willing to help you if you have never visited the Outer Banks before...let alone this amazing 4 x 4 section on God's amazing handi-work. This is a place everyone should visit at least once. I could not believe how friendly the owner was at answering all our questions and recommending things to do. I HIGHLY recommend coming up from the north and taking the ferry ride...This was so much fun...the kids LOVED this. This house was pefect for my family of 5, my brother's family of 4 and our mother. The 2 youngest boys LOVED the loft. Our families really liked having our "own" space by utilizing the room on the bottom level. The almost wrap around porch allowed for much wildlife viewing, which included seeing the wild horses daily. They even came right up to the deck. We just laughed at those paying to see the horses...DON"T pay...they come to you. The furnishings were all in great shape and the home was well maintained. This house was just as promised. Eating out was a bit more than we had expected so we didn't do this often...we visited the local grocery often. We did rent a boat for the day...this was lots of fun. We also took a road trip to Kitty Hawk to see the Wright Brothers Memorial and then on to Rodanthe. While a long drive we really enjoyed this trek. Local supermarket prices seemed very fair. I highly recommend getting your groceries and staying put. Because it was our first trip to the OBX, we had to sight see some...next visit will be spent completely relaxing in the sand. We sure hope to come back soon.

  Don't pay for the wild horse jeep tour because 5 of the 7 days the horsed were in the yard!! Lots of deer at night.....we had a 15 million watt light to spot the nocturnal part of nature. Stars are magnificent! This property is away from the beach but half the fun is doing the "dune buggy" drive different ways to the beach every day! The house is very comfortable and even though they do not have cable/satellite there is a cabinet full of movies.....just bring your favorites. Internet is available, but slow.....works well for email. This property is a great value and we would recommend to others. Kimberly was very responsive to ALL questions and great to work with. The only problem we had was the coffee pot was broke.....a trip to the Harris Teeter fixed that (my daughter needed a new pot anyway) and Kimberly had the cleaning crew bring a new pot so you will not have that problem.....if you are a caffeine addict! This was a wonderful first of many trips to the Outer Banks and was great being away from the mass of people at the other beaches. Go and enjoy a great time!

  We had 8 people at the house for a week, and we had a great time. The location on the beach forced us to relax as a family and spend some quality time together. We enjoyed the wild horses in the area, and had them visit the house a few times - usually in the morning. The house was pet friendly, and the neighbors were not around so we had a very quite area it was great place to see the stars at night when the lights were off. We had 6 kids in our party from 13-19, and they all enjoyed the beach, and every trip away from the house was an adventure. Driving in the Sand took a bit to find the best paths, and how to drive in the sand, but by the end of the week it seemed pretty easy. The house was not fancy, but had everything you need to have a great vacation. Lower level room was a nice surprise - as it was very nice. Kids thought they had their own apartment away from us as it does not attach directly to the main level of the house. Make sure you bring water to drink - water in house was OK for washing and dishes, but I would not want to drink a lot of it.

  The Week at the Beach House was Simply Wonderful!!!! This is the third time we have been there and we will keep going there every year!!! The location is great! The house is perfect for a gateway! Grilling, Drinking:)..going to the Beach...we were 12 people and everybody was Very Happy!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

  If your like me and are truly looking for a quiet and peaceful place to relax and get "away from it all", this is the perfect place for you. Bring your bathing suit, your sunglasses, lots to eat and drink and a good book and sit back on the deck and take in all the surrounding beauty of this cottage. I was there June 29 - July 5, 2009 and am already missing the sounds of the ocean. We were a party of 12 and there was plenty of room for all of us. The BONUS room was an added plus and it is very modern and updated. Bring plenty of dvd's as there is no cable or satelite t.v. However, as night we usually just sat out on the deck with some cold wine coolers and watched the night sky. I would recommend this cottage to everyone who just need to get away from the real world for a while!!!
