Accessibility - 2nd floor (if ground level is floor 0) with no elevator. Neighborhood with steep streets.
Description of the apartment -
· 3 bedroom apartment with 1.5 newly remodeled bathrooms. One full bathroom with shower, toilet, sink. Second bathroom with toilet and sink. Restored traditional kitchen with tile counter-top. View to Galata Tower from Master bedroom. All rooms have ceiling fans. Master bedroom has 150x200 cm bed (queen size). Second bedroom has 1 queen size bed and one single bed (90x190cm). Table for 8 in dining room. Living room has two sofas, one of each is a sofa bed for 2 people. Adjoining the living area, separated with a shelf, there is the 3rd bedroom with a day-bed (90x200cm). The building has a marble staircase and iron gate. There is nearby parking although renting a car in Istanbul is not recommended.
Description of location -
· The apartment is by the Genoese Galata Tower, north of the Golden Horn, in an area of Istanbul that in the past was reserved to Western Europeans. Currently this is a very fashionable area favored by locals. There are many shops and coffeeshops and restaurants on nearby Istiklal Caddesi. Almost all buildings in the area are at least 100 years old. We recommend this location to those who would rather avoid a carpet salesman pitch every minute and prefer to get a taste of the real local life.
Transportation -
· The apartment can be reached by taxi. It is also located a 2 minute walk away from the upper Tunel station. The Tunel is a 100 year old underground funicular which is a tourist sight in itself and takes you down to Karakoy tramway station --by the bridge on the Golden Horn. From here you can walk across the bridge to the Spice Bazaar, or take the tramway to the Sultanahmet area, to the Grand Bazaar, to the airport (transfer to metro at Zeytinburnu), or to Kabatas to visit Dolmabahce palace.
By the upper Tunel station by the apartment there is also the 'nostaljic' tramway which takes you to Taksim square.

Nearby services -
· There are several supermarkets at a very short distance. A very nice and popular restaurant area is just a walk of less than 5 minutes away.
Noise levels -
· The apartment is in a very quiet location and also has double glazing. There is the nightly call to prayer at 5am and sometimes the night cleaning crew can be a bit noisy -although they do not work on this street every night, maybe once a week.
