This wonderful house was designed by a Sacramento architect in 1950 and has been cherished over the years by the original family. Its prime location on the bank of Rubicon Bay offers a delightful view of the Lake and private beach below. The upper level of the house has a comfortable and spacious living-dining room featuring a tall fireplace of Nevada sandstone with a sit-down hearth. The walls are of knotty pine with ceiling beams of clear timber. A cheerful kitchen, three bedrooms and two bathrooms are also upstairs. Outside, the wide deck invites you to enjoy meals and conversation. From the deck, short stairways lead down to the two biggest bedrooms, each with a separate bath. The family laundry room is on the lower level as well.
A wooden stairway from the house gives easy access to the private sandy beach and pier. Two designated buoys are available for boaters. Behind the house, a pleasant walk, run or bike ride through the fragrant pine forest begins just outside the driveway. There are many places to explore nearby--hike to the top of Rubicon Peak; walk from D.L. Bliss State Park to the Vikingsholm at Emerald Bay. Find your way to intriguing shops in Tahoe City, to zesty shows at the Stateline casinos, or dining in many venues.
In Summer, enjoy the merits of warmth and sunshine. In Spring and Fall, take in the marvelous solitude and crisp air. In winter, stand in awe of the snow capped mountains surrounding the Lake. The nearest skiing is just a short 20 minutes away at Homewood.
Rubicon Bay is one of the special and select private areas of Lake Tahoe, untouched by commercialization. If you are looking for plenty of room to be on your own or to enjoy a vacation with family or friends, then you'll love your stay at our lakefront home. |
