A blend of old and new-our house was originally built in the mid 1800's and it's latest addition was completed in 2006. The house overlooks the tiny hamlet of Martinsville, the harbor, and Penabscot Bay. The views from the 2 decks and screened in porch are pastoral and soothing. Three miles from the village of Tenants Harbor and 1 mile from quaint Port Clyde, this is a great starting point for walking, launching your kayak from the backyard, running, biking and just generally experiencing life in Midcoast Maine.
Drift Inn beach is 1 mile away. Enjoy nature and art while relaxing in a beautiful home filled with all the amenities that make for a comfortable and memorable vacation. Buy your fresh lobsters and other seafood from local lobster pounds and have a feast or go out to eat at one of the interesting restaurants in town. This house is perfect for a family reunion/vacation or for a writers, poets, artists etc. workshop. Large rooms for big gatherings and many private spaces to be alone.
The nearby towns of Thomaston, Rockland, and Camden offer all sorts of activities, festivals, and fairs throughout the summer. The St. George Peninsula has become a place to browse art studios and antique shops. Trips to Monhegan, (the out of the way artists community 11 miles offshore) and nature and sunset cruises can be taken from Port Clyde. Getting here has now become easier and faster because you can fly directly to Rockland. |
