Why the Owner Chose Point Roberts
We bought our cottage in Point Roberts because of its unique location. Close to all the amenities of Vancouver B.C. yet quiet and serine as only can be found in Point Roberts. Once you cross the border from Canada it’s like entering another land. The weather is mostly clear compared to the lower mainland and gets 60% more sun. Point Roberts is mostly small cottages close to the several beaches found there. Our South Beach is one of the nicest and is private so that one doesn’t have to fight the crowds. We have our own float as well. Most of the people you meet, especially in the summer, are vacationers and a festive aura envelopes the community. Our cottage is only a few steps from the beach and has one of the best views of the Georgia Straight with the Gulf Islands and all the activity on the water. The Point Roberts Marina is only a few blocks away and enters directly onto the straight. The fishing and especially crabbing are great sport if you have a small boat. Clam digging and beach combing are also great fun. If you visit from Canada you’ll see that the price of spirits, gasoline and food are considerably less.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
Our cottage is four houses up from our own private beach. Lilly Point Park and Light House Park are a short walk or bike ride down the road. One can also walk the shoreline all the way around the point to Maple Beach. The marina and restaurant are only a few blocks down the road. Closer yet is the South Beach House Restaurant just down the way. There are two pubs at the Point and several restaurants including a great cyber cafe where you can connect to the internet, either with your own lap top or one of theirs. The International Market is close by and carries everything one would need. If you like golf, there is the Point Roberts Golf and Country Club which offers a professional 18 hole course. If you want to experience downtown Vancouver or the even closer towns of Tsawwassen and Ladner in Canada, the border is a few minutes up the road.

This is my families second stay at the cottage. The cottage and location has everything we need for an enjoyable vacation. We mostly enjoy the view from the deck, the large yard and the private beach. We mostly bike everywhere and this year we discovered Lily Polint and Monument Park. During a ride to Lighthouse Park we were treated to a very close view of a pod of orca whales swim past. All we all we highly recommend the Beach Cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful place to vacation. BK

A cute little cottage that was very comfortable. It has a great view from the living room and outdoor porch, and is in a quiet neighborhood of cute houses. It is right up from the beach and a great restaurant. The local caretakers were very welcoming and helpful. It would be a good place for children as there are few cars, or others searching for a quiet, serene location. We hope to stay there again. It was a good value.

Your home is lovely and had all the amenities we could want. Enjoyed BBQing our dinners - the bed was comfortable and we slept very well. The special gift basket and greeting card was a wonderful added generous touch. Thank you again.

One of my favorite places to stay is this homey little cottage. The view is great and access to the beach is close by. Big front windows provide a spacious feel to the front of the house. The fireplace makes it a cozy retreat for any time of year. It is well maintained and very clean. The managers are available to answer any questions and tend to any problems. (A new toaster was delivered the day I mentioned the toaster wasn't working!) It is stocked with local info and Vancouver is a short drive away for those who want shopping, museums, galleries, theatre, etc. Looking forward to my next visit!
Owner response:The above reviewer is one of our valued repeat guests. You will notice that her last visit was in January. If you are looking for a quiet retreat, even in the winter months, our cottage will fit your needs. We try and provide every desired requirement and value any suggestions to improve our guests stay. Repeat visitors are a testament to our doing something right!

We rented this cabin last new years and it was great! It was so peaceful and relaxing. A couple of friends came over and we had wine and dinner! The cabin was warm and decorated and the owners were very respectful, not coming over every day to check on us, so it felt like our cabin. Its in a great spot very close to the beach and has everything you could need!
Owner response:New Years and Christmas at Point Roberts are special times in a special place. We try and go the extra mile to make our guests stay memorable and enjoyable.
