We spent two weeks on Paradise Island and it was the best family vacation we have had. The home is so comfortable and the owners made us feel very welcome. The home had everything we needed and its location on the water made swimming and fishing easy. The pictures on-line don't do this beautiful location and house justice. Make sure to say hello and pet Sammy, Bugsy, and Rascal.
Owner response:These renters and family were so nice and a joy to have as guests. We are very happy they enjoyed their time here and we no our pets really miss them.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

An island paradise is putting it mildly. Harsens Island is rich with history, and we never got tired of watching the freighters slip down the north channel of the St. Clair River. Both sunrises and sunsets were beautiful as they mixed new colors each day. We fell in love with Sans Souci and ate many meals at the Sans Souci bar while we watched the freighters. Don’t let the word “bar” throw you—it’s a family environment. Even during off season two groceries (with great pizza!), a gift shop, a consignment shop and the library were open. The home’s accommodations were superb, the bedding and linens were fresh and clean and covered wonderfully comfortable beds and pillows. The owners are there for you if you need them, but respect your privacy. They have provided fantastic books on island history for their guests to enjoy. The views from the expansive windows drew us out to try our hand at fishing each day. We caught numerous perch and a rock bass without even leaving the property. We would highly recommend this rental property.
Owner response:Most renters are nice but none were as nice as this lovely couple from Ohio
Recommended for:Girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

What a wonderful time we had. We were looking to get away from it all for some well deserved R&R and that is exactly what we got, it was perfect. The property and setting is so beautiful and the accomodations were much more than expected. We especially appreciated all the amenities, books, games, canoe, DVD's etc. It is truly an island paradise.

We have just returned from a wonderful week visiting this rental property. It is decorated beautifully, and has a fantastic view from every window! Not only did we receive a warm welcome when we arrived, .. we also had beverages and snacks awaiting us. The house is very clean and in excellent condition. All utensils and linens were furnished, and there were even some games, books, and music available to make our stay even more enjoyable. We would highly recommend this property for family fun, or peaceful retreat...we have already made plans to return next year!
