Enjoy the beauty of San Diego from your comfortable home base in north Pacific Beach just south of Bird Rock/La Jolla and only a few blocks from the beach -- easy walking and biking distance to all the best of San Diego, while easy freeway access makes sightseeing beyond the beach a breeze!

Once you're here, you won't need a car -- ride the beach cruiser BIKES in the garage to the pier or down the boardwalk, or just all over town at your leisure. Catch a wave on one of the boogie BOARDS or surfboards, or unwind with board or video GAMES and a BBQ at night. This house really feels like your home away from home. It's the perfect location and accommodations for your Southern California adventure.

Just four blocks from the long, beautiful stretch of white sandy beaches north of Crystal Pier and the lively boardwalk, with a small grassy park, clean bathrooms, and lifeguards . . . minutes from Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, and Mission Bay to the south . . . borders Tourmaline and the Bird Rock area of La Jolla to the north, with more beaches, the Cove, tidepools, shops, restaurants, Torrey Pines, the Birch Aquarium, and UCSD. (Express bus to UCSD just three blocks away.)

Completely remodeled 1,000 sqft home -- all new kitchen (stainless steel appliances), new bathrooms, new windows, new floors. New leather and wood furnishings anchor pieces from owner's Mediterranean travels. Full CABLE TV package on all 3 tvs (LR is LCD HDTV), including HBO, Showtime and Sports Channels, DVD, DVR, secure high-speed WIRELESS internet, iPod docking station and music system, a Wii video game console, and a fireplace in the living room for when the sun goes down -- or roast marshmallows in the FIREPIT in the backyard!

There are new QUEEN beds in the dual master bedrooms, both with feathertop mattress covers, quality linens and down comforters (twin air mattresses are also available). We just purchased all new linens for the beds and the bathrooms, including fluffy white towels and Pottery Barn sheets.

There's a full-size WASHER/DRYER in the garage, and GAS BBQ grill on the patio in the back yard with lots of patio furniture available. (There's a charcoal weber there, too, for the die-hards.) The yard is completely fenced, and there's a weekly gardening service so it stays nice for you. Be one of the first to use the new OUTDOOR SHOWER in the backyard -- no more tracking sand into the house!!!

Comes complete with all the beach towels, games, toys, videos, books, soaps, shampoos, etc., that a home would have, so all you need to bring are your personal items. The kitchen is stocked with the basics right down to the coffee and tea, so the choice is up to you to cook at home or enjoy your choice of local restaurants.

While it's close to the beaches, restaurants and shops of PB and La Jolla, it's in an owner-occupied neighborhood, which keeps it nice, safe and quiet. Your visit should be as relaxing and pleasant (or energetic and active!) as you desire -- if you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask!

  • Imagine 6 women in a 2B/2b home. Somehow it worked and worked well. What a wonderful place. With three cooks in the mix, the kitchen was stocked with supplies that pleased each of us. The weather was great and we all managed to get a lot of walking in. Felt like we were in our own neighborhood with friendly people at every turn. Look forward to coming back. JT and the posse!

  • We had a fabulous time at Rowena's home. It was extremely relaxing and designed with comfort in mind. I would say the best part of this experience was the hostess. She worked overtime to be certain we had all we needed (and more)to be comfortable and happy. We will rent again from her because of the way she works to ensure tenant comfort! The bikes were an incredible asset that I did not think of until we were there and used them so much.

Thanks for everything the teen agers had a blast and were part of the "fun life"....We always attend church while on vacation(unless there is none around) and that weekend believe me the teenagers resisted totally to go to Church! What was so neat was we ran in to the Pastor we met at church,the next morning in the coffee house down the street. This put the finishing touch on our short getaway!We really appreciate your kindness and help!   • Incredible Family Fun...We had the best time ever. In fact, my 15 year old daughter asks me all the time...when can we go back there. Rowena's home is your sanctuary. Whether you are looking for a getaway for just you and your loved one or whether you want some amazingly fun time with your family, this is the place for you. We rode bikes to the beach...in fact we rode all the way around the beach and the bay. My daughters tumbled in the grass right on the waters edge ... walking distance from the home. We played games, boogie boarded, and sat around and laughed for hours....The home is decorated beautifully yet extremely comfortable. There was not one thing we needed...she had it all! I hope you can take the time to come here and create a memorable time like we did!

  • I am now looking to book this house again and I noticed that I did not make any comments about the first stay. Rowena the owner is incredible, we left feeling like we had just made a new friend. Her house has so much of her character in it. This was our funnest vacations purely due to the beautiful and peaceful accomodations
