So if you don't like spending your vacation standing in lines, but you like nature and a peaceful getaway; you'll love "MAPLE RIDGE"! Our family home is a beautiful two story 3,500+ square foot Vermont white pine rustic log cabin situated on 45 secluded private wooded acres in a rural country area of Northeast Pennsylvania known as The Endless Mountains. It is surrounded in hard woods and hemlock forests and is PERFECT FOR UP TO 2 FAMILIES looking for an outdoor serenity filled nature vacation retreat or maybe a great family reunion. Wildlife (deer, turkey, grouse, fox, squirrels, etc.) abounds with two fields (eight acres total) for viewing. If you are a jogger or walker you will love the hilly canopied hiking trails in the woods. And there is a gentle stream for serenity. The logcabin is made from solid rough finished northern white pine logs inside and out. The vaulted ceiling reaches to the log roof of the second floor with a balcony overlooking the living room. Handmade Montana log furniture abounds in the spacious master bedroom and living room. A large covered east facing front porch with hammock, swing and rockers is great for a late afternoon libation and relaxation in the shade. An outdoor firepit is available for roasting marshmallows along with (2)picnic tables and a large gas BBQ barbecue grill. A large modern eat-in kitchen with bar looks out a large bay window to the beautiful scenic wooded acreage. The kitchen is fully stocked with all paper goods, spices, and some condiments. An inside six person HotSpring jacuzzi hot tub spa sits in a private room again with a forest view. The two downstairs bedrooms consist of a log king bed (master) and the other has a queen. The two upstairs bedrooms have a queen bed, and the other has a double along with two twins. All bedding and bathrooms have a wildlife motif. Upstairs there is a huge open play area adjoining the bedrooms, perfect for kids. There is also a NEW BRUNSWICK 8' POOL TABLE, air hockey, dart board, board games and table with (4) bar stools. The cabin is located six miles from Montrose, Pennsylvania which is the county seat of Susquehanna County in northeastern Pennsylvania in an area referred to as The Endless Mountains. We are 15 miles from the NY border and 30 miles due south of Binghamton, NY. It is also home to the Montrose Bible Conference and youth summer camps. Montrose is a quaint friendly town of 2,500 providing most anything you might need. More sophisticated shopping and dining is available in Vestal, New York 22 miles up a scenic country road. The area boasts a variety of recreation from just pure relaxation to adrenaline filled activities such as hotair balooning and skydiving. Or take a day trip to the Finger Lakes by Ithaca, NY and see a 215' waterfall in a state park then visit some of the over 40 vineyards bewteen Lake Cayuga and Lake Seneca for wine tasting. If sports is your thing, take the kids on a day trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY then retreat back to the peacefullness of "MAPLE RIDGE".
