UNHAPPY TRAVELER

We rented this unit in June 201. This was the most disappointed we have ever been in all our years of travel. The unit was very dirty, outdated, moldy bathrooms,broken tile and the place stunk so bad we could hardly stand it. The pull out couch was broken and couldn"t even be used as a bed , not to mention the mattresses were in awful shape. Couldn't wait to get home to sleep in our own beds.The beautiful balcony that they talk about would have been nice if there was nice chairs and no buckets full of stinky cigarette butts. We complained to the company who we rented the property from, but they really didn't care. If we would have had the money we would have found another place to rent. On a better note the property was a beautiful resort with 4 pools, hot tubs and right on the beach.

Owner response:In response to this review I would like to start by saying that our company is responsible for bringing over two thousand families to this area each and every year for the past 20 years. All of the properties that we manage are owned by different individuals from all across the country. While some properties are in like new condition others may not be. This particular property has been rented quite a bit over the years as many others have and it was rented prior to and after this person rented it. There have never been any complaints of a smell in the property and after this guest checked out it was looked at very thoroughly. Our staff could not find any smell other that normal. There is a cracked tile in the foyer (ceramic). This tile does not affect the livibility of the unit. As far as the beds, I'm sure they are not as comfortable as the beds at one's home but usually the beds in a rental property are sufficient for a weeks stay. I do feel that the unit may have not been cleaned to the standards that we as a company expect. We hire several different housekeeping companies to clean our rental units on Saturdays before check-in. We only wish that the tenant would have called our 24 hour emergency number when they arrived and we could have had housekeeping go back to the property and take care of any discrepancies at that time. On every check-in packet we have a sign in bold letters that states: WHEN YOU ARRIVE IN YOUR UNIT PLEASE TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYTHING IS AS IT SHOULD BE. IF THERE ARE ANY HOUSEKEEPING IRREGULARITIES OR ANY INCONSISTENCIES AT ALL, PLEASE CALL WITHIN 30 MINUTES OF CHECKING IN SO THAT WE CAN CORRECT ANY PROBLEMS. We did not recieve a call until later that week. We are very sorry this family was not satisfied with the property and to try and make it right with them, they recieved a 10% discount after they checked out and they also had recieved a $100.00 discount when they booked the property. While we are sorry they felt so dissatisfied with the property, we do care and we feel that they were compensated very well for any inconvenience.
