Casa Dos Palmas - Akumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico - Yucatan Peninsula Beach Resort & Villas Just 3 minutes walk from the beautiful beaches of Akumal Bay lies Dos Palmas; a gorgeous two story ocean front villa on the Caribbean designed to embrace the Mexican culture without compromising on comfort. With all the comforts and conveniences of restaurants, shops, services just an easy stroll away, we don’t know why you would want to go anywhere else! Dos Palmas offers hotel luxury and comfort with twice the space as a hotel suite! Every morning in your own private villa, you will enjoy freshly squeezed orange juice and freshly brewed coffee either sitting around your own pool, or out on your own private terrace. Add a little fresh fruit and you will soon be seeing how the other half lives! As you enter Dos Palmas, you’ll see through the many glass doors the aquamarine water of the Caribbean on the east side and the swimming pool, Jacuzzi and coconut palms on the west side of the villa. The living room is graced with 50 ft ceilings, ascending two stories to a magnificent traditional Mayan brick dome. The open plan design allows you to move freely from the grand ocean terrace to the living room.....to the dining room....and then to the pool. The pass through from the kitchen makes poolside breakfasts or margaritas and snacks a snap! The open design of the first floor allows an almost constant sea breeze to flow freely through the house. The kitchen is spacious and modern. It features all the “mod cons”;gas burner, electric water cooler, toaster oven, coffee maker, blender (for the best Margaritas you have ever tasted!) and a microwave. Don’t want to spend you vacation in the kitchen? No problem! The caretakers are fabulous cooks and can be hired to prepare a sumptious gourmet meal. Two of the 4 bedrooms are situated on the ground floor. Both have ocean facing terraces with hammocks. The master suite has a large private bathroom and queen bed. The first guestroom has 2 double beds and private bathroom. Stacked directly on top of these bedrooms are the second story bedrooms. The second master suite is identical to the first, as is the second guest bedroom. All bedrooms have AC, fabulous ocean views and all have built in couches that can also double as single beds. The unique design of the sleeping areas ensures a tranquil night sleep. You won’t hear any noisy next door neighbors! The TV room, located on the second floor, shares a bathroom with the second guestroom and this is where you will find a double futon, DVD, TV, VCR and video library. This will double as a 5th bedroom and is also air conditioned. The villa features rich Mexican and Mayan design using fabulous interior and exterior colors... terra cotta, turquoise, mango, lemon and lime are balanced with traditional talavera tiles and has 3,200 square feet of living area. The villa furnishings are in the Mexican “rustic” style with comfortable hand made chairs, tables and credenzas specially made for Dos Palmas with a carved design typical of Mexican regional craftsman. Likewise the art and decorative accents are by local craft people and well known local artists. Dos Palmas offers the best of the best. From it’s impressive location to the it’s superb decor, this villa is the only way to experience Akumal, Mexico.
