We were pleasantly surprised with this spacious cabin! Walking into the large cabin you'll find yourself dumbfounded with the stone fireplace that continues to the roof. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is here from all your cooking utensils, crockpot, blender to extra blankets and pillows. Every room in this place has astonishing views but the most magnificent are right off the wrap around deck. Which you can also see from the kitchen, dining room, master suite or even snuggled up by the fire. The cabin has radiant heat which feels wonderful on the feet and the sheer fact that you never run out of hot water makes the family very happy after a long day of outdoor activities. Speaking of outdoor activities…we brought the snowmobiles, snowshoes, hiking boots and sleds. There was never a dull moment during the day and there’s a fire pit just below the cabin which made for some very good s’mores and pictures as there’s nothing but snow around you and a fire in the middle. My hats off to Cliff for opening his beautiful home to us with everything one would need for wonderful long lasting family memories.

The property is a fantastic get-away, yet close enough to so many wonderful things to do - hiking, boating, fishing, kayaking, wildlife viewing. Rocky Mountain National Park is a very short drive. The property is as nice as the pictures. We had five adults staying comfortably. The view from the deck is unbelievable and the gas grill on the patio was much appreciated. The house was furnished with everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this vacation home to anyone.

This was our second time visiting the property and it was even better than the first!! The house was a perfect place to relax after a day of fishing and horseback riding. I love the view of Grandby Lake from the balcony and seeing all the little blue birds flying around! I have 2 young girls and they enjoy exploring the surrounding area! Another perk is the fire pit a short distance from the house, a great place to raost marshmallows and enjoy the camp like area and than when you're done you're able to go back into a cozy place to sleep instead of a tent!! (If you are looking to go fishing make sure to bring your 'Rainbow Powerbait'!!)

This home has a spectacular view, is very comfortable for a couple or family and the Owner is great to work with. We have stayed for the weekend several times now to enjoy golf, hiking and simply riding the deck chairs on a sunny afternoon. You will be happy you chose this one.

This is our second trip to the Lake Granby/Grand Lake area. It is an annual event for us now and we really enjoyed our stay. The home is roomy, and the views are amazing! We had lots of space on the ridge and really felt on top of the world there. The kids loved exploring the property, and watching the chipmunks scurry about below the deck. We have family in Denver and they joined us for part of the stay. So it was nice to have the fire pit (complete with s'mores) and a lovely steak dinner from the grill, then coffee/wine on the deck. The home is conveniently located at Lake Granby but not far at all from Grand Lake which we like to consider our home away from home. There is a lot to do in the area: kayaking, hiking, boating, 4-wheeling, Winter Park - we've done it all and loved it. We are considering another trip up in the winter to see what it is like with snow! The caretaker on-site is nice in case you have questions about the home or the area - but you absolutely have your privacy. My favorite thing was to have all the windows open at night and hear nothing but a few owls - that was heaven to this city girl. We would definitely return to Cliff's place on the ridge!

My family and I stayed at the home from July 31st - Aug 3rd. The home was easy to find and sits on the top of a hill overlooking Grandby Lake. There was plenty of room and was able to accomodate 6 adults and 2 kids. The view from the livingroom, kitchen, dining area, and porch are gorgeous. There is also a fire pit that sits a short distance from the house where we were able to roast marshmallows and enjoy the 'camplike' setting. The house is located near 3 lakes including Grandby, Shadow Lake, and Grand Lake. A great home to stay and enjoy the great surroundings of the Rocky Mountain National Forest.

We reserved the house for 4 nights to relax after surviving hosting a wedding in the family. We looked forward to relaxing at the house in addition to exploring the national park. The view was spectacular and the location convenient. This was our 4th VRBO rental we stayed in and I guess we had been spoiled up to this point. This house was filthy, the furniture in disrepair, a thick coat of dust covered the surfaces and trash (old tires, etc) laying around the outside. My mother, who is 87 years old, travels with us and the only bed downstairs (the futon) was so wobbly she had to sleep on the filthy ex-white couch to avoid using the staircase. The last straw was the bug in my mom's coffee cup! We only stayed 2 of the 4 nights and then happily became homeless and looked for hotels. The refrigerator was broken on the first day and was temporarily repaired on day 2. This house reminded me of the houses my college age sounds live in that have been used and partied in but not maintained.
Owner response:This guest was obviously discontent, however I believe the reader can perceive things being a bit overstated. I live outside the country so am dependent on the cleaning service monitoring condition of the home. I had my caretaker/tenant review the home after this guest departed with a different cleaning service and it was confirmed the attention to detail had deteriorated from what had been the norm for two years previous, the cleaning service was changed immediately. I will be pleased to talk with any interested party by phone to alleviate any concerns; this is the first time in 7 years using VRBO to have such comments, occaisionally I have had some constructive comments directly to me on mainor things needing attention which are always appreciated and acted on. Thank you for your consideration, Home Owner, Cliff

This is a beautiful setting with views of Lake Granby, trees, and wildlife just minutes from Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park. The owner was easy to work with and there is a property caretaker nearby if needed, something I have never had available in the years of using VRBO. The property was clean and just as presented on the listing. Our only snafus were the inoperable kitchen sink disposal, since we ate two meals a day at the cabin while on vacation; and while the cabin can sleep as many as the listing indicates, the dining table had chairs for only 5. However, mostly we remember the wonderful views, the comfortable house, the fabulous grill, playing games in the evening with the kids, and the chipmunks/deer/and elk that we saw in the neighborbood, as well as all the fun we had in Grand Lake and the national park.
