This apartment was exactly as pictured, only better! What you can't see is that its on a wonderful street with cute shops downstairs, and two blocks from the Rue Rivoli which is the feeder street for the Louvre, Notre Dame and anywhere else you want to be in Paris. Yet, it is so QUIET! We slept like logs and really felt like we had a respite from the city. It was plenty big for 2 and worked well for 3 when a friend slept on the pull out couch for a night. (She said it was super comfortable). As far as decor, the building is old and charming but the furnishings are new which is a really nice contrast. It was well lit and bright in the evening and had great natural light from the windows during the day. We will definitely stay in any Cecile apartments in the future!

This apartment is very conveniently located; metro, grocery store nearby. We stay in apartments in Paris two times/year, and this was our first stay with Cecile's apartments. Very clean, very comfortable bed. Kitchen and bath quite functional, but this apartment is not deluxe. That said, it is a great value. Windows look out to common areas or other apartments. Washer/dryer, wi-fi, tv are all super convenient. As experienced travelers, we would stay again.

My wife and I have stayed in 3 of Madame Cecile's apartment over the past several years, perhaps 5 or 6 years in a row!...We adore the Marais Authentic and will stay there until we are unable to get there. It is the most comfortable accommodation that you will find...great living quarters with everything one could want (quiet, good cooking facilities to take advantage of the markets, close to terriffic restaurants and a bed that is TOO comfortable so we could not awaken at our usual hour. Cecile has restaurant suggestions in the area, some from her, others from previous guests and they are all tremendous. Don't even think about staying elsewhere....Book with Cecile (We love her!)

This apartment in the quaint area of Le Marais is a gem. I visit Paris many times a year and am so happy to have found this place! The location is absolutely perfect for getting around Paris as the St. Paul station is just steps away. In addition, it's a minutes walk to a great little food market, wine and cheese shops and great bakeries. The apartment was spotlessly clean and charmingly decorated. Cecile is very helpful with tips on shopping, restaurants, markets and attractions. I had a fantastic stay and will be back to stay again in July. I highly recommend Cecile and her fabulous apartment! Merci beaucoup Cecile!!

I've had mixed experiences renting places off of VRBO--including a nightmare experience with a weekend house in Malibu where the owner randomly charged a very large fee to my credit card after the stay simply to see if I'd notice (he reversed the charge when I called him to yell at him about it)--so it was with some trepidation that I made a reservation for an apartment in Paris a mere 3 weeks before leaving. This place made me more confident in VRBO but (more importantly) made me swear that I'll be staying only in Cecile's apartments when I come back to Paris. This place was just perfect, situated in the coolest neighborhood in Paris, within walking distance to nearly everything, and a beautiful/traditional space. It was dead silent in the apartment, which is a really amazing luxury in a city that is known for its nightly street noise. Cecile let us check in early at a last minute request, and our stay was wonderful because of her wonderful accommodations. You likely won't be able to find better in Paris (especially for the reasonable price she's asking) so would HIGHLY recommend staying here.

First of all i would like to say Thank you to Cecile for the EXCELLENT *** service! I just came back from my Europe trip (29 Jan 2012), and Paris was my first stop. Staying at Cecile apartment in Marais, set the bar really high. Apartment was very clean and location is super convenient (5 min walk to St Paul Metro station) and many restaurants around the area if you are hungry late at night like me. For anyone who is reading this, don't waste your time to look for other place! I would definitely come back again! Once again... Thank you Cecile... you have made my first trip to Paris worthwhile!

We stayed at the Marais Authentic apartment for eight nights in November 2011. It was a perfect choice. The apartment is ideally located less than 5 minutes from the St. Paul metro stop (Line 1) and about 10-15 minutes from the Seine on foot - in the trendy Marais district. All of the major tourist sites were very accessible either by metro, RER, or via the lovely winding streets of Paris. Everything you could need was nearby - several grocery stores, Monoprix, countless bars/restaurants, ATMs, and charming shops. The apartment itself was exactly as described and shown in the photos - if anything it had more ammenities than had been listed. The place was clean and quiet, safe and secure, and ideal in most every way. The shower had great pressure, the bed and furniture all comfortable, and the kitchen well stocked with all you'd need to eat-in (plus some pay-it-forward basic supplies). The owner, Cecile, was wonderful to work with. She always was timely in her email responses in the booking stage and among the most professional that I'd dealt with on such matters overseas. The guide in the apartment laid out every last operational detail and provided great information about the neighborhood as well. I particularly liked that in-person check-in/out was not necessary, which can be burdensome expecially when you're departing and anxious to get going. I would most definitely recommend this apartment (and Cecile) to anyone. You can rent this apartment with great confidence and you'll have a wonderful stay in Paris.

I am accustomed to 4 or 5 star hotels so keep this in mind as I share my experience in Marais Authentic. The apartment left nothing to be desired. It had all of the essentials that a temporary visitor would need so we wanted for nothing. The place was immaculate, the furnishings very tasteful and warm. The bed was extremely comfortable and the linens were pressed!! The apartment looked exactly as pictured but when you walk in you really appreciate the care given to create beauty and ambience. It felt very French!! The building was quiet, there were three sets of French doors and plenty of natural light from two different courtyards. The apartment has an excellent sound system so bring your CDs. As you might imagine I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to others and I suspect that Cecile's other apartments are equally delightful. The apartment is in an old part of Paris that is very charming. One can easily walk to specialty shops, cafes and Bistro's galore, the subway and bus, and to many locations on foot. It was the perfect location. In addition Cecile provides an extremely informative book to explain clearly everything about the apartment and about locations of stores and restaurants nearby, access to medical care etc. Between that and Cecile's responsiveness to our questions while we were there, it was as though we had a concierge. The apartment was even stocked with numerous English touring books about Paris. I will definitely rent from Cecile again when visiting Paris.

This apartment is very clean and comfortable, excellently located, maintained, equipped and managed. It is exactly as shown in the photos and described in the advertisement. Celine was very helpful and responded promptly to all inquiries. The apartment is located a short walk from the Metro, several bus routes, Ile St. Louis, shopping for stocking the apartment as well as boutiques, restaurants, cafes, etc. If you want the experience of both living in and visiting Paris, you will enjoy this apartment.

Delightful stay in the Marais

In this day and age it is gratifying when something is what it claims to be. Such is the case with the Marais Authentic Apartment where my wife and I stayed for a week in mid-October 2011. This flat is delightful, exceptionally clean, with everything in working order from the washer/dryer to the wireless connection to the comfy bed. Cecile manages this unit extremely professionally, from the time you make first contact, to the time you arrive, and to the time you leave, while providing loads of helpful pointers (and a library of Paris tour books!) during your stay. The location is outstanding; it is quiet -- being off the main streets, with loads of eating options in walking distance. (Yes, the falafels are great, the swarma is even better, but skip the croissants at the corner of Rue Rosier -- their other items are fine). The kitchen is small, but quite adequate for breakfast, a very light meal, or wine and snacks before heading out for the night. After all, why would one wish to spend vacation time cooking in Paris! I would recommend this apartment unequivocally! The building itself is a well-maintained older edifice. But beware travelling with large suitcases; the one flight of stairs up is narrow and somewhat curved.

Marais Authentic great place to stay in Paris, very centrally located but quiet. Clean, comfortable and well appointed. The neighbourhood was close to all the sights, had good restaurants and food shops. We enjoyed the market and LOVED the chicken and potatoes from the rotisserie outside the artisan butcher. Would return again.

The apartment was perfect. It was a very special birthday for me and we decided to try VRBO for the first time. We were a little nervous, but Cecile's apartment looked wonderful and she was so professional during the deciding process. There were many things we loved about the apartment. Since it was late November, we loved all the heaters. Even the bathroom had one. Cozy and toasty. The apartment was clean, bed was comfy, plenty of space for clothing and tuck suitcases away. There were also lots of books on Paris and helpful brochures. Previous vacationers also contributed to a collection of restaraunt business cards, which was helpful if information was needed. And...the location was the best! Each morning we walked out to our favorite deli and had coffee and a baguette with strawberry jam. Being in the Marais, it is easy walking distance to most places -- Lourve, Left Bank, etc. The apartment was one block off Rue de Rivoli -- a hopping avenue of shops, etc. We liked walking because with the wonderful food in Paris, we tried to use up as many calories as we could. When we needed a cab or Metro, the stands were very, very close by. To sum it up: on other trips, we would say, "Back to the hotel/room." On this one, we would say, "Back to the apartment." The Marais Authentic is an absolutely wonderful apartment, beautifully furnished,well equipped, and perfectly located. Steps away from Metro St. Paul, this apt is close to the markets at R. Richard Lenoir and Baudoyer. My wife is a chef at a vineyard in VA (USA) and shops the markets for our 2 dinners in Cecile's Marais Authentic which is perfectly equipped for cooking in the efficient kitchen. This is a must stay apartment...no question about it! Great bed, great kitchen, quiet location and close to everything! Email me for restaurant choices...wonderful food and wine...and a great owner who is not only nice but also a terrific person.

We had a wonderful time in June staying in this fabulous apartment in one of the best locations in Paris! We have stayed in a number of apartments there before and this was by far the best. Excellent use of space, tastefully decorated throughout and wonderfully quiet despite being in the middle of everything. The market on Richard Lenoir on Sunday is a must - but get there early to avoid too many tourists - you won't feel like one of course as you buy your goodies! Enjoy Paris!

Marais Authentic was charming, convenient, immaculate, and well equipped. Three people were never crowded. Cecile and her mother were welcoming and full of information. We never tired of walking up one street and down another, browsing, shopping, just enjoying life All the food we bought and ate was more than wonderful, and living on a street built in the 13th century still seems astonishing. Easy Metro transportation everwhere in Paris, but exploring the Marais on foot was even better. We can hardly wait to return.

I truly enjoyed my stay in the Marais Authentic. The apartment was clean, comfortable and attractive, very much as represented in the photographs and descriptions. The location could not be better -- in the heart of the Marais, right between rue de Rivoli and rue des Rosiers. While many sites are within walking distance of the apartment, it’s also near the St. Paul metro and several bus lines (including 69, which runs by many important sites in Paris). Having stayed in an apartment, I don't think I'll stay in hotel in Paris again. I wanted a neighborhood feel, and that’s what I got. One night, I chatted with a nice family from the neighborhood and played copycat with their young daughter while waiting for my kosher pizza. While I certainly wanted to enjoy Paris restaurants; having recently lost weight for health reasons, I also wanted to be able to prepare some of my own meals. The kitchen is small, but well equipped and perfectly functional for simple meals. Free long distance was great, but for a computer addict like me, the free wireless was the real plus. I definitely would stay at the Marais Authentic again, and recommend it

I spent ages on the internet searching for a short stay apartment that ticked the boxes of; modern, tasteful, safe, well located & good value for money - I was not dissapointed. The location is perfect and the apartment is spacious and charming with many little extra touches to make it luxurious. The location of the apartment is extremely convenient and central, yet very quite and comfortable, the courtyard and stairs do not do justice to the apartment which is very nice. The choice to stay in an apartment verses a Hotel was definitely the right one and with the sun shining the whole 5 days we felt very lucky. The free phone + internet were a great plus and allowed us to stay connected to close and far friends and family.

Why would you stay in a hotel when you can have a home from home in a great Paris suburb? My wife and I honeymooned in Paris and having an apartment with the space it offers was fantastic. The apartment is quaint, quiet, clean (great bed and linen), warm, secure and well appointed. Everything you would need is close by, a supermarket open until 23:00, St Paul metro station one block away which gives you very easy access (Line 1) to all the sites in the city. There are restaurants, bars, boutiques and more all within a few minutes walk. Would we go back? most definitely!! Can't wait!!

This apartment is in the perfect location to walk to 90% of the sites you will want to visit in Paris! “Dear Cecile,This has been the greatest experience for us, we stayed at the Marais Authentic for 9 days with our 11 years old son.We arrived in the middle of the night (2 am) and the key was waiting at the exact place you hid it and there was a folder in the apartment with operating instructions to everything in the apartment and important information about the facilities in nearby streets (Metro, recommended restaurants, bars and patisserie etc) – You thought of everything!! (The detailed zoomed map of the apartment location and neighbourhood spots had 10 duplications so that you can take it with you and find your way on the go!!).The apartment is equipped with all you need for a short or long stay. The kitchen enabled us to make a dream come true- visit the food markets or the supermarket and buy all the great cheeses, sausages, breads and other great foods and enjoy a breakfast or any other meal in the apartment, taking our time with no rush anywhere.Our bed was heaven; the mattress and linen were a great treat after a long day of walking.The free international telephone saved us a fortune, the free wireless internet connection and the combined washer and dryer were saviours.The Marais Authentic is perfectly located within a walking distance from most major attractions (Pompidu Center is 10 minutes walk, so is the Louvre, Notre Dam, Bastille, Picasso Museum, Place des Voges and St Germin) the St Paul's metro is 2 minutes walk. The Marais is lively day and night, most stores in the Marais are open on Sundays and close late during the week (stores in Paris are closed on Sundays so this is a great change) and a corner from the apartment there is a small grocery that is open until 21:00, Saturdays and Sundays so you are never short of milk etc. We hope to come back next year to Paris and the Marais Authentic!!Best Regards”

Dear Cecile We've settled back into the daily run of life but our memories of our Paris visit are still very much in the forefront of our minds. All aspects of the apartment were extremely welcoming and provided all the comforts, and more, needed to relax and refresh after long days wandering and relishing in Paris' offerings. The small touches such as the laundry items, the combined washer and dryer and even the radio/TV were absolute saviours, especially with 2 teenage boys! A very quiet location and very friendly neighbours all helped make us feel like locals for the week. Marais is the perfect location, from our morning visits to the local patisserie for pain a chocolate and croissants, fabulous little courtyard restaurants for the necessary early evening vin rouge et fromage, to the direct routes of Rue De Rivoli and St Paul's metro. We have already started recommending the Ferdinand Duval apartment, and your services to our friends here and abroad. The location of Marais Authentic could not be better - stepping distance from Rue du Rivoli and Rue du Rosiers. The Marais Authentic is a very nicely furnished appartment, we just missed a dishwasher.There is so much to do in the City for children and adults alike and we all had a wonderful time. Bonjour, Cecile! Your "Marais Authentic" apartment is wonderful! The first thing we did after our all-night flight was try out the beds. Very comfortable. After a nap, we made coffee in the nicely-equipped kitchen and then set out to discover Paris. The apartment's location is great! We could walk to the St. Paul metro stop in about three minutes. We walked (often) to Notre Dame, to Ile St. Louis for atmosphere and ice cream, to the Louvre and Left Bank, to Place des Vosges. We used the wonderful "batobus" shuttle boat to travel up and down the Seine (much more fun than the metro, although not as fast). And I must mention the outstanding bakery only half a block away, where we got incredible pastries every morning to enjoy in the apartment with pots of (American-style) coffee. The Marais is a busy, fascinating place, but the street noise never penetrated those heavy stone walls. We could rest or sleep in total quiet. We really enjoyed the tasteful way you've decorated the place. The shower is wonderful. I would like to find a fixture like that for my home! It was very helpful having a washer/dryer in the apartment. The free international calling that you provide enabled me to call my husband every night and tell him what he was missing. Dear Cecile, Our stay in Paris was wonderful! We found the apartment easily, with your directions and immediately felt at home. We walked everywhere, all the places we'd been wanting to see were so close, and we became comfortable and familiar with the area very quickly. With so many little restaurants and bakeries, boutiques and bookshops, as well as services and transport so close, we felt every day we could explore Paris and find something for ourselves. The apartment is charming, fresh and ancient all at once, with everything we needed when we came back from our explorations to make a perfect retreat and resting place. I stayed at Marais Authentic for a week in April 2007 and truly appreciated the charm of the place, the beautiful living room with open kitchen, and the bedroom with its big bed. The white linens are soft and luxurious. The decor, very pleasant and carefully designed in harmonious shades of subtle browns, beiges and white. Excellent taste, without anything superfluous. Everything is impeccable, charming, comfortable. The equipment is comprehensive (a big 'plus' for the unlimited long distance telephone line (!), the washing machine and the iron & board). Light comes in from 2 courtyards. One should know that there is no particular view, and it is sometimes a little noisy in the morning, but never before 9am. The location is just fantastic and offers the very best that Paris has to offer. I am used to staying in hotels in the center of Paris (4th and 6th districts) and I can confidently state that there is simply no comparison in terms of quality-space-price between a 3-star hotel and the spacious charm of this beautiful apartment. One would need to pay upwards of double the price, no less, to get something as nice at a hotel.
