This was my first trip to Austin, and we came to see a couple of concerts at Stubbs. The studio was clean and very comfortable, and was a great 'home base' for us. It's tucked away on a quiet street in a great neighborhood, but it is close enough to everything we wanted to do. A short walk to Lady Bird Lake and Barton Springs, or a quick cab ride to South Congress, Red River and all the music... Marilyn was an awesome host. She made sure we were happy at every opportunity, and was quick to respond to our calls. She reached out to us the day of our arrival and made sure that we had all the options to get to the tree house, and offered us a ride in from the metro stop… she even made sure we had fresh coffee and cream. Thank you Marilyn for such an awesome stay! We will certainly be back on our next trip to Austin.

This was our first VRBO experience (it won't be the last!) and this was perfect for a 5 night stay in Austin. Great location, wonderful neighborhood to walk or run in. We used the "tree house" as our home base as we toured Austin and a day trip to Gruene and San Antonio. Whole Foods is conveniently close. An absolutely wonderful time. Thanks to Marilyn for her hospitality. I am already trying to figure out when I can come back to Austin.

My husband and I lived in Austin for many years, and recently moved to Seattle. We traveled back to Austin last week for family birthday celebrations, and our time in the "Tree House" was such a wonderful experience. We've used vrbo in many cities, and always put a lot of trust in the comments people write- so I am here to add another 5 star review for Marilyn and Lex! The location of this charming bungalow is perfect, tucked away in a gorgeous austiny neighborhood, convenient for exploring in all directions. Details both inside and outside the house made us feel like we were home. During our visit, we even had a few family members stop by and comment about the "fabulousness" of this studio! We'd love to stay here again, and we've already recommended this vrbo rental to friends and family. Don't hesitate to contact Marilyn soon because the Clarksville Bungalow is as wonderful as the reviews say, and will be booked often!

My husband and I called Lex and Marilyn's Treehouse our home for three weeks during two separate visits to Austin this fall. It was more than we had expected! Having left Austin 32 years ago, we had hoped to still find some of the city's historic charm; this place was a 'bulls-eye' hit! The Clarksville neighborhood is an oasis amid this ever-active, ever-growing city. The Treehouse gave us the creature comforts, ideal location, upgraded amenities and home-like atmosphere we had hoped to find. Perched in the shade of live oak and cedar trees, we especially loved the deck and the Texas morning/evening skies. The cozy set-up is well arranged and decorated for efficiency and modern style. Being in the Old Austin area made the Treehouse's walkability rating high with Whole Foods, Fresh Plus, Third Base Sports Bar, El Arroyo, Mean-Eyed Cat, Z Tejas and many others within walking distance. Just minutes away are the famous jogging/biking trails along Lady Bird Lake, the city bus system, Amtrak and the Car2Go network. (We loved that we could walk or bike to Zilker Park/Barton Springs via the trails.) Thanks again, Lex and Marilyn, for such a memorable stay in one of our favorite Austin neighborhoods!

I stayed here for 3 weeknights and was overwhelmed by this sweet place! Marilyn made my dog Brody and I feel so welcomed and included. The property offers multiple amenities --- quaint kitchen, great bed, clean linens, and adequate bathroom. It's a cozy studio with great appointments in a quiet setting. Easy access to paths and streets for a quick dog walk as well!

I loved this place- it was wonderful, and you can walk to z tejas, whole foods, 2 running stores, and best of all, the lake. Marilyn and Lex are super nice, friendly, and interesting to talk to - and the deck- *sigh. the deck. I loved it, and if it had been sunnier when I was there, I'm not sure I would have gotten out of the apartment. Oh~ and a dog!! a big sweet dog! Thank you so much for the stay and I plan to be back! -Lesley

This great bungalow has it all: Location, Relaxation and close to Action. You can walk amongst the many cool Clarksville eclectic homes, or hit the Zilker Park trails with a little navigation. You are less than 1.5 miles from the wonderful Barton Springs and from here to flagship WholeFoods store are all kinds of cool shops and restaurants to check out. Simply stated the host and hostess are very welcoming and we felt as if were home away from home. The bungalow was so welcoming with just a few steps from the car and a killer deck in the trees to hang out in for a cuppa Jo (nicely provided) or a sip of wine, this place is special. The decor is very zen and just has everything you need from Wi-Fi to a French Press! We really did not want to leave the bungalow or Austin! We'll be back :))
