Location: Netarts, Northern Coast, Oregon, USA (75 miles west of Portland, about 5 hours from Seattle)
Accommodations: Rustic private home, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 6)
Pearl Street in Netarts is where you’ll find our cabin...it is an old street that meanders along a bluff just above picturesque Netarts Bay - one of the Oregon Coast’s true hidden gems. Our family has owned this very special place since 1992 and we have never stopped trying to improve it, though we have only recently decided to start renting it. We are confident that you will love it as much as we do.
When you arrive you will see & smell the ocean and feel the salt air breezes. This lovely private home is across the street from the water - all the access and spectacular views WITHOUT the "beachfront" rates! You will have access to unlimited highspeed wireless internet and free long distance calls within the US. Bring your iPod because we are wired for it!
The home is rustic and built with the highest quality construction in every detail. It has three bedrooms and two full baths. It is among the most cozy and inviting places you’re likely to visit. It is the perfect place for a family vacation or a romantic getaway. The inside has a glass-door wood-burning stove and the entire interior is done in douglas fir, western red cedar, and pine. The exterior is shingled in white cedar. There is a sleeping loft above a cathedral-ceiling main living area. Upstairs, beyond the loft, you enter the hallway and master bedroom with master bath next to it - there is a wonderful view of the water from the master bedroom. Then, another set of stairs leads up to a Belvedere, a fully glassed in area on the third floor. Sitting benches here have a panoramic view of the bay and the ocean; they are perfect for snuggling up and reading or listening to music or the waves all day long, and the benches are also suitable for sleeping - our 12 year old daughter will not sleep anywhere else! From the Belvedere, you can step out onto a deck with the same spectacular view of the water - it is breathtaking to watch the sunsets - the photo above was taken from here.
The cabin is right across the street from Netarts Bay, and there is immediate access to the bay and ocean beaches. One of our favorite things to do is to hike on the beach to the town of Oceanside (about 40 minutes north) to have dinner at Rosanna’s Cafe; come share our enthusiasm!

- Mountains, Skiing & Golf: The Oregon coast is not a 'golf or skiing destination' usually. However, there are courses available and resorts are being built all along the coast to Lincoln Ciity (a bit more 'built-up' than Netarts Bay). Also, the potential visitor interested in golf or skiing should note tthat Central Oregon (the Bend-Redmond area) is indeed a golfer's and skiier's paradise. A trip to our cabin could be easily plannned to include a stop in Central Oregon for golfing or skiing or a stop at Mt Hood (see Timberline lodge weblink below) for spring/summer skiing followed by a trip to the coast. Interestingly, Central Oregon's climate is entirely different from the Willamette Valley (Portland, Salem, Eugene areas) or the Coast. Central Oregon is high desert with sagebrush and is sunny about 350 days a year! There are wonderful rivers, mountains rising out of the desert, and old western towns to visit in addition to some of the best golf and skiinng around.
