Accommodations:  Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 1 Bath (Sleeps 5-10)

Our beautiful vacation rental is located in the San Isabel National Forest nestled in a meadow surrounded by mountain tops with views of the Sangre de Cristo peaks just 30 minutes (an adventurous drive!) from the small mountain town of Salida.

The rental consists of an "off grid" pre-1900's renovated old miners' cabin with a strawbale/tire hybrid attached that houses the large kitchen and bath. A huge fire-pit lies right out the cabin door for all of your barbecuing, smore making, and campfire singing glee!

We have seen many big horn sheep, deer, elk, eagles, hawks and many other native species of animals to Colorado. We have been on many two to six hour hikes without ever seeing another human being! You will witness the clearest night skies and stars galore!

  • We are located nine miles from Salida, Colorado at an elevation of 8500 feet surrounded by Bureau of Land Management and National Forest. An old homestead, this 70 acres is situated in a defacto wilderness area. An oasis in a high mountain desert, this area is home to most every species of plant and wildlife known to Colorado. Here you can find peace and quiet.
