You'll love spending a week or two in this secluded summer cottage located on the east side of Seneca Lake. The deep 328 foot lot provides a very private setting, in addition to having a large area for parking or play. With the tall trees lining the south property, and the babbling creek running along the north side, you'll immediately discover peace and serenity!
Drive right up to the front door for easy unloading and loading. There are no steps to the cottage or to the beach area! Little tots love the 55 foot beach area and the ability to wade in shallow water, while 'bigger kids' can do their cannon balls off the new dock, featuring a large 12 by 12 foot deck (complete with electricity, benches, tables, and lounge chairs).
Inside, you'll find a full kitchen with table and chairs, regular-sized refrigerator plus one compact refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, and all utensils. All dishes are provided. The open area offers a great view from the kitchen or living room, where you can cuddle up with a great book, watch a dvd, or sit in front of the vintage fireplace - yes, even in summer!
There is one bathroom with shower; and water supply is city, including sewer.
The bedroom area features two bunk beds (sleeps four), another great place to curl up and read, nap, or engage in late night conversations with bunk mates!
Watch the incredible sunsets from the enclosed front porch while lounging in one of the Adirondack chairs. Serve dinner at the extended picnic table, which seats eight. Then it will be time to fire up the beach pit for toasting marshmallows and hot dogs.
A late night stroll along the property will top off your day! Enjoy the moonlight and stars, chirping crickets, and fresh night air that will remind you of the Adirondacks.
There is a two-person kayak for your use, but larger seagoing vessels and jet skis are available through one of three marinas located within a few miles, where boat and equipment rentals are affordable.
Two convenience stores are within five miles, and just ten miles north is Geneva, where you can enjoy summer lakeside concerts, great shopping and dining, and many local wineries, including Ventosa Vineyards (five miles north). You'll also find gyms, health and beauty spas, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, golf courses, Rose Hill Mansion, miniature golf, movie theatres, and museums.
To the east (four miles) is historic Waterloo - birthplace of Memorial Day - and Seneca Falls, home of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and today's Women's Rights Hall of Fame.
Just 20 miles to the west is beautiful Canandaigua, home of the Finger Lakes Performing Arts Center, Sonnenberg Gardens, numerous shopping opportunities, great dining, and the Canandiagua Lady - the boat tour that will take you by Danny Wegman's home and Tom Golisano's summer place!
For more adventurous folk, you'll be within 10 miles from two Thruway Exits (Waterloo and Geneva) and less than 50 minutes from Syracuse or Rochester where your sightseeing possibilities are endless!
No matter how you spend your days, you will end your week rested and peace-filled! |
