This beautiful and rustic A-frame house sits on its own private beach in Pentwater, Michigan. The Chicago owners have assured your comfort by providing all the necessities for a great get-away. Within walking distance by beach to town, yet far away from the crowds, this idyllic spot is without equal. Set out the grill and sip wine from the deck overlooking the rolling waves of Lake Michigan. Take the kids to your beach---steps from the door. Hike in unparalleled splendor. Swim in the pool and watch deer walk by the beautiful tennis court. Take in the shops in quaint Pentwater, try the wine at the local winery. How about canoeing the Pere Marquette river, or learning to fly fish? It's all here, from your doorstep, a place you WILL NOT want to leave at the end of your stay.
The unique feature of this home is its location...imagine spending an entire week on a private beach with only one neighbor to the north. No houses are on the beach from the south side to the public beach in pentwater! This private and secluded spot is all you need to relax and unwind. Some pets allowed; please call for details.
The house was built in 1961, and has been updated several times, with new flooring, kitchen appliances and bedding. Yet, it is still a family home with rustic features. The downstairs is accessible from a deck extending to the driveway. Inside, there is a large room containing a kitchen, kitchen table, small living room with cable TV, and windows facing the lake. Around the corner there is a small bedroom with a double bed, and full bath. There are a series of stairs leading up to a dormer bedroom with windows overlooking the lake. There are five single beds upstairs, each with a lamp and small table. Behind this room is a small bedroom with a double bed. There is another bathroom upstairs with a shower stall.
There is a garage with a grill (another grill on deck) and space for one car. In front of the house, there is a deck with chairs overlooking Lake Michigan.
Renters can bring their own sheets and towels or use ours. There is a washing machine and dryer on site, and Pentwater has several laundromats. The cottage is cleaned prior to your arrival, and you have the option of hiring maid service upon your departure for a fee of $100.00 or cleaning the cottage yourself. Please note, this property is a family home, it is available for rental on a limited basis each summer. We ask that you be aware that hotel-type conveniences such as regular maid service and laundry facilities are not a part of your experience here. We are fortunate to have returning renters who have discovered that this property is unique-one of a kind, and is worth the extra effort. Again, the house is rustic yet comfortable.
The house sits on its own private beach, about forty steps from the kitchen door. There is a small sand hill, then wide open beach with NO HOUSES from the south end of the house to the Pier at Pentwater, a mile away. Bonfires are permitted on the beach; renters can bring firewood or purchase it locally. Overlooking this sweeping vista is a deck with chairs and a table.

There are 23 steps to the beach, and the house is not built above the dunes but right on the dunes, one of the last properties allowed to build there. There is a sweeping view of the beach all the way to the Pentwater lighthouse.
