Driftwood Bungalow - approximately 15 private acres on the edge of the Pacific Ocean. Dramatic views of waves crashing over rocks, see the tide ebb and flow, marvel at the sunset - all from your cozy living room and deck.

Every room was created with attention paid to detail...and a few quirky surprises...fish lights, murals on walls.....

Living Room opens onto the deck. Enjoy views of the ocean as you have your breakfast, play a game of monopoly or do a jigsaw puzzle while listening to sounds of the surf. Comfortable loveseat and chairs in the living room on one end and on the other there is a cream colored table with vibrant red leather chairs and a wonderful ocean view.

Open the french doors and walk out to admire the breathtaking view. Watch pelicans diving for fish, seals frolic in the surf and whales as they migrate. Sit and enjoy lunch on the deck picnic table or read a book in a comfy mesh chair with your feet propped up as you feel your cares slip away while the ocean breeze caresses your face.

In the family room you will find a huge sectional sofa and a 32 inch LCD TV for watching movies; DVD and VCR viewing only, no cable. There is a selection of movies or bring your family favorites. (Sectional is also a full-sized hide-a-bed.)

Master Bedroom has a Queen Bed outfitted with cozy flannel sheets. Pretty blues, pale teal, and rich chocolate brown highlight the master bedroom. Wonderful ocean-themed pictures and decorations complete the decor. Open your window at night and listen to the sounds of the ocean.

Second bedroom has a fun Surfing Theme with two twin beds. Flannel sheets and colorful Pottery Barn Quilts add to your comfort. Great room for the young...or young at heart!

The kitchen is fully equipped and ready for you. Toaster, griddle, blender, coffee maker, microwave, utensils, waffle iron, gadgets galore and plenty of dishes/glassware for your use. Enjoy a view of the Point Arena Lighthouse from the dining table.

Two gas powered fireplaces warm your nights with the flick of a switch. Grab a cozy afghan, pick a spot and settle in to read the novel you've been meaning to! We have a lending library for your pleasure, sometimes one book just isn't enough!

Fenced yard off the deck, great for child and pet safety. Tuggy Tugboat Sandbox and sand toys for the tykes to enjoy.

The place was great. Clean, cozy and comfortable. Loved it and we will stay again in the future. Everything we needed was in one closet or another, including a pack 'n play cot/crib and a high chair (the kind you attach to a chair). It has pleasant yard space in front and in back and a beautiful walk down to a beautfiul beach with an incredible amount of driftwood collected. If arriving from the Bay Area, we would recommend driving one way along the coast and one way back over land (Hwy 128 to 101). Hwy 128 has spectacular redwoods you can explore from the roadside and then idyllic rolling hills with farms and wineries in the Andersen valley. For eating, we would recommend going south to Point Arena where the Rollerville Cafe by the lighthouse is great and the Chowder Room on the pier is great for dinner and only about 7 miles south of the house.

We really love staying at Driftwood and would be hard pressed to find a better combination of all the things that make a visit most enjoyable. We enjoy hiking with our dogs and Driftwood has a fantastic private route to the beach. The hot tub and the view are awesome. And Doug, the owner, is really attentive and hands on with any questions or special needs. I think his approach helps make all the difference and goes a long way.

My husband and I stayed here with family and friends for 3 day weekend and had a wonderful time. The house had everything we needed and more. We chose not to bring the grandbaby or dogs on this trip but we were pleasantly suprised to see that the house was set up for the whole family including pets! Miss Rose was very helpful and the location was perfect. We will be returning soon. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

We stayed here for 3 days and had a wonderful time. We came with our 2 1/2 year old and our 2 medium sized dogs. There were games and toys for all ages. Our 2 year old was kept entertained the whole time with all the toys. They even have an impressive movie selection with many genres to satisfy anyone's taste. It was nice to have dog beds and bowls so we didn't have to pack them with us. It was a little bit of a hike down to the beach...but oh what a hike! You walk past ferns, through a canopy of trees, and past a babbling brook. The walk to the beach is almost as stunning as the beach itself! Our favorite thing to do was take a morning walk, cup of coffee in hand, through the fog, down to the beach. There is something magical about the coast in the winter time. We'd return cold and warm ourselves in the hot tub watching the morning sun compete with the fog. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. We'd only suggest a few travel mugs to take coffee down to the beach :) There were plenty of towels all nicely arranged and with different colors so each of us could pick a color and know it was ours. There were also extra blankets for snuggling on the sofa and watching movies. The fenced yard was great for both our dogs and our daughter. We could even see Point Arena Lighthouse, to the south, on a really clear day! The sunrise and the sunsets were stunning. If only I could attach pictures. We had a great time and will be returning. The owner was attentive and responsive to all of our needs.

We just stayed the weekend there on the recommendation of a family friend. This was one of the best vacation experiences I have had. The owner was fantastic to work with, and he couldn't have been nicer. The pictures don't really even do it justice, we were expecting the place to be much smaller. There is ample room to cook, a great view to enjoy while dining, a huge yard, and everything was perfect. We were even there for a huge storm...don't let the weather discourage a possible visit. This place is beautiful even in the nastiest weather (I can personally attest to...lol) If you have come across this listing, you owe it to yourself to visit. I will definately be visiting Driftwood again.

We just spent the Thanksgiving weekend at Driftwood, and what an amazing and comfortable place to be. The views of the ocean are spectacular. We even saw whales just off of the coast with our binoculars. The place is cozy, yet spacious enough for the 5 of us. The fenced yard was perfect for our kids to play, as well as the dog to be comfortable. With a brief walk down to the beach, we spent some time building houses out of driftwood on the beach. I look forward to staying here again.

We recently spent a week at Driftwood. Any review has to start with the spectacular location, on a bluff just above the Pacific. The coast around Driftwood is dramatic and ever-changing, with sunshine and sparkling waves one minute; romantic mist and fog the next. (We found foggy mornings to be the perfect time to enjoy the hot tub.) We walked down the path to the beach every day to enjoy the nearly deserted beach just below the bungalow. Driftwood itself is just as advertised--cozy, comfortable and inviting. And just as advertised, all you really need to bring is your clothes. Every possible need seems to have been considered. Our dog particularly appreciated the bowls, treats and fenced backyard. Rose, who helps take care of the place, is great, and always seems to be available when you need some help (like when we managed to lock ourselves out), but never interfered with the sense of quiet and privacy. One of my favorite aspects of this rental was that the owner seemed truly interested in making certain that our stay was special, with helpful hints about the area and Driftwood itself and following up with e-mails during our stay to make certain everything was to our satisfaction. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Driftwood to anyone looking for an ocean-side retreat. Many thanks!

We thouroughly enjoyed our one week stay! The Bungalow is decorated impecably. We enjoyed the hot tub at sunset with glass of wine and a view. Although it was somewhat foggy at times. The kitchen is fully equiped and large. The location is ideal for a base camp to tour the area. The store down the road is great. The walk to the beach is nice with several chairs along the way to relax. The beach is great and the driftwood is incredible. Rose was very helpful in getting us settled in. Our dog loved the beds and the little treats left for him. We would recommend this place to all. The fenced-in yard is great for dogs and kids.
