Driftwood Bungalow - on the edge of the Pacific Ocean. Dramatic views of waves crashing over rocks, see the tide ebb and flow, marvel at the sunset - all from your cozy living room and deck. Or take a stroll down to the beach, squish your toes in the soft sand, build a sand castle and watch seals frolic in the surf.

Every room was created with attention paid to detail...and a few quirky surprises...fish lights, murals on walls.....

Living Room opens onto the deck. Enjoy views of the ocean as you have your breakfast, play a game of monopoly or do a jigsaw puzzle while listening to sounds of the surf. Comfortable loveseat and chairs in the living room on one end and on the other there is a cream colored table with vibrant red leather chairs and a wonderful ocean view.

Open the french doors and walk out to admire the breathtaking view. Watch pelicans diving for fish, seals frolic in the surf and whales as they migrate. Sit and enjoy lunch on the deck picnic table or read a book in a comfy mesh chair with your feet propped up as you feel your cares slip away while the ocean breeze caresses your face.

In the family room you will find a huge sectional sofa and a 32 inch LCD TV for watching movies; DVD and VCR viewing only, no cable. There is a selection of movies or bring your family favorites. (Sectional is also a full-sized hide-a-bed.)

Master Bedroom has a Queen Bed outfitted with cozy flannel sheets. Pretty blues, pale teal, and rich chocolate brown highlight the master bedroom. Wonderful ocean-themed pictures and decorations complete the decor. Open your window at night and listen to the sounds of the ocean.

Second bedroom has a fun Surfing Theme with two twin beds. Flannel sheets and colorful Pottery Barn Quilts add to your comfort. Great room for the young...or young at heart!

The kitchen is fully equipped and ready for you. Toaster, griddle, blender, coffee maker, microwave, utensils, waffle iron, gadgets galore and plenty of dishes/glassware for your use. Enjoy a view of the Point Arena Lighthouse from the dining table.

Two gas powered fireplaces warm your nights with the flick of a switch. Grab a cozy afghan, pick a spot and settle in to read the novel you've been meaning to! We have a lending library for your pleasure, sometimes one book just isn't enough!

Fenced yard off the deck, great for child and pet safety. Tuggy Tugboat Sandbox and sand toys for the tykes to enjoy. Follow the path out the back gate, across a plant and flower filled bluff, for your access to the beach. Manchester State Beach is over five miles long. Soft sand, tide pools, fresh sea air, seastacks, sea shells and dramatic views. Gather driftwood to your heart's content...Pick up a sand dollar or two...Enjoy!

Celebrating a special occasion? We can arrange for flowers or even have the fridge stocked with your groceries. We can customize a GIFT CERTIFICATE for that special someone. You'd like something else?? Just ask!!! Hosting a Family Reunion, Wedding or Birthday?? Book Cottontail Acres (vrbo #79324) and Driftwood Bungalow together and house up to 16 people! The houses are just a short walk apart, no roads to cross!

  • My wife and I stayed at Driftwood Bungalow in February 2007 with our 9 month old daughter. We could not have asked for a more family friendly cozy home for a weekend getaway on the coast. The place was immaculate and fully furnished with all the necessities plus more! A must stay!

  • We just returned from a weekend at the Driftwood Cottage and highly recommend it. The layout of the cottage is excellent for families with children. After hours at the virtually empty beach, us parents retreated to the ocean-side living room for wine and quiet adult time while our three kids enjoyed a DVD in the front room. The house has everything a family needs (including beach towels!) and our dog had the absolute time of his life: dog treats, two beds, two fires to doze by, etc. Make sure to visit the Point Arena Lighthouse. It's very close to the cottage and our kids really liked the view from the top!

  • We stayed at the Driftwood Bungalow with our in-laws, our son and our dog. Holly, you have done such a great job in making the house an easy place to go on vacation. You provide so many comforts of home that make the vacation really relaxing. We loved that you provide a playpen, highchair and even dog bowls. We were able to travel without hauling 2 carfuls of stuff for 2 nights. So for the parents, very relaxing! Then, we get there, and not only is everything there, but there is a great fenced in yard for them to play in while we read and lounge on the deck and watch the waves! And the most beautiful sight were the 2 to 3 deer in the yard over the hill! The waves were amazing background noise in the evenings as we sat by the fire with a glass of wine while both the dog and our son slept soundly after a busy day of play by the ocean. Thank you and we will be back often!!

  • My husband and I, and our dog, Odie, stayed a week at the Driftwood. We hiked to the beach every day--5 miles of sand, very few people. We sat on the porch and watched the birds. Odie chased tennis balls in the yard. We cooked, watched some dvd's, read, took some day trips. It was the most peaceful vacation i've had in YEARS. The house is cute and very quiet, with a wonderful enclosed porch, with views of the ocean and a stove for warmth. WE WILL BE BACK!

  • We stayed at the Driftwood Bungalow over Labor Day Weekend. What a great, relaxing stay! It was my husband, my daughter and our two labs who loved the house and had a blast playing in the ocean. The fenced in yard over looking the ocean was great! We sat and had wine while our daughter and dogs played in the yard. Thank you Holly for allowing us to stay at such an amazing place.

  • Our family stayed at the Driftwood Bungalow for four days, and we would have loved to have stayed longer. Our three year old played outside the entire trip. The house, yard and view were so comfortable and inviting. We could not have asked for more on this stay. We look forward to spending another vacation at this property.   • We LOVED our week at Driftwood!! It had everything our family could possibly need. The beach access was fantastic and our 2 small children loved the backyard with the sand boat. We (unwillingly) left feeling totally relaxed and looking forward to our next visit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
