VIEWS: SPECTACULAR, UNIQUE!
All rooms across the front of home have unobstructed view of wetlands, frequented by Egrets and Herons. Beyond is Gardner’s Bay, a boater’s and sailor’s Paradise, and Shelter Island. Exclusive East Hampton is in the distance. To the right is Long Island Sound and the Connecticut Shore.

SURROUNDINGS
It used to take the family days to travel by ship or horse drawn carriage, but now it's a two-hour drive from New York City or easy public transportation. Situated in a private Family Compound, guests can saunter a minute down a verdant path to a Private Beach on Long Island Sound.

Walk to a local farm stand, featured in a Martha Stewart Magazine, or to nearby Orient Village, a picturesque seaside hamlet, with a Country Store, Post Office, Historical Museum, and Yacht Club.

Hop on one of the bikes from the basement for a complete tour of Orient. Drive or bike 4 miles to Orient State Park or board the Ferry to New London, visit Foxwood’s Casino, Groten's Submarine base or Mystic's Seaport. Drive West 4 miles to antique-filled, historic shipbuilding, whaling, rum running Village of Greenport, or take the ferry from there to beautiful Shelter Island for lunch or night life. From Shelter Island, take a Ferry to popular Sag Harbor to catch a play, shop, swim, sightsee, or travel further to the Hamptons or Montauk, in the lands of the rich and famous on the South Fork.

WARM WEATHER ACTIVITIES AT CEDARCROFT
Read in the hammock or sunbathe on the porch, or stargaze at night. Play horseshoes, Boules, or Croquet. Walk two minutes to the private beach or ten minutes to Orient Village. Drive short distances to Wineries, or places to eat including old-time diners, gourmet cheese shops and Zagat-rated restaurants.

Boating, swimming, sailing, kayaking, clamming, and waterskiing are available for water enthusiasts. Outdoor folks have tennis, golf, miniature golf, or nature trails with osprey and deer sightings. Shoppers browse antique shops, yard sales, or Tanger Outlet Mall. Fitness Centers, Yoga Instructors, Carousel and Movie theatres are located within easy driving distance too.

“Cedarcroft” is Professionally Decorated in an understated comfortable style and has newly remodeled bathrooms, and Hardwood Floors throughout. Linens, Kitchen furnishings, a charcoal grill, bicycles, and laundry facilities are provided. Cedarcroft is a family home, and is not available for large celebrations or gatherings. No pets, no smoking, please.

  • Cedarcroft is truly a gracious home with some of the most magnificent vistas in the North Fork. The home is beautifully appointed, and the owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome and respond to your every need. It fulfilled all of our family's expectations as a gateway to discover this beautiful area - we highly recommend it for an enchanting and unfogettable stay!

  • We loved our September '08 stay at Cedarcroft and can't wait to visit again. The house is beautiful, spacious, very clean and well cared for. The views of water and wetlands are amazing as promised. Everything we could have needed was provided, and the owners could not have been more helpful and informative throughout. We had fun bicycling around town, sampling fresh farmstand produce and some great L.I. wines, birdwatching from the patio, and walking on the nearby beach. A perfect place to escape from NYC or anywhere else!

  • Cedarcroft is a lovely family home with lots of character and wonderful views of the water. We relaxed on the hammock, played croquet on the ample lawn, grilled dinner to our hearts content, and enjoyed the pebbly beach a short walk away. The owners are extremely nice and helpful in answering questions and were wonderful in sharing all of their baby things for our little one. Although the traffic on the two-lane road was a little more than we anticipated, we highly recommend the home as a wonderful and relaxing getaway!

  • Beautful historic home with wonderful views and private access to the rocky beach of the Long Island Sound. We were there in early June and often had the beach to ourselves. Quaint old hamlet within walking distance...we loved strolling by the old gardens and interesting old homes. Ferry access is close by...so a day trip to CT. was fun and easy. We had a wonderful time at this very special property.

    We were so busy having fun we didn't email you to tell you about it. The good news was I didn't look at my email once in 10 days. We did bike, swim, kayak and chill at the beach as well as drank plenty of wine. All in all we had a great time and hope you will let us return next summer.
