Pets Welcome
Dog beds and bowls also are available on request. Just 2 blocks from our beach cottage is a wonderful dog park with hiking and biking trails that are great for both kids and dogs.
Doggy Daycare is available for just $30 per day if you plan to take in one of the many San Diego area sights (SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park) and can't take your dog. In Doggy Daycare, your dog will be well looked after by a dog care expert and will enjoy a fun-filled day in a large fully-fenced yard.
Located in Beautiful La Jolla
Our beach cottage is only 3 blocks from Windansea Beach-- an easy 5 minute walk. Windansea Beach is well-known for its surf, as well as its beautiful sunsets. Take a leisurely stroll into the very heart of the village of La Jolla, which offers the finest in restaurants and shopping.
The California Cottage is also just 1 mile from the Cove in La Jolla, considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in California. Also nearby is the famous Casa Beach (also known as the Children’s Pool Beach) where harbor seals and California sea lions sunbathe on the beach year-round!
Within walking distance of our La Jolla beach home are Busy Bee Bagels, Su Casa Mexican Restaurant, a convenience store, and many other child friendly restaurants.
The California Cottage is located within the La Jolla school district and is just blocks from La Jolla High where there are state-of-the-art tennis courts and a year-round public swimming pool.
Or take part in one of the many annual La Jolla events: La Jolla Gallery and Wine Walk, La Jolla Rough Water Swim, La Jolla Christmas Parade, or the La Jolla Motorcar Classic.
Getting to our La Jolla beach home is easy. We’re just 20 miles from the San Diego International Airport and close to many popular tourist attractions such as the Gaslamp District, Sea World, Legoland, the San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park and Balboa Park.
While you’re in the area, consider visiting other Southern California attractions. Disneyland is 1.5 hours away in Orange County or visit Universal Studios, Beverly Hills, and Hollywood in Los Angeles—just a 2 hour drive from La Jolla.

We chose to buy a vacation rental in this area as this is where we always want to live and in retirement we would like to live in this rental.
The Unique Benefits at this Duplex
Most people love to utilize the boogie boards, beach wagon, bikes and beach toys.
It is such an easy stroll to the beach particularly if you want to load up the wagon with your icechest full of food and towells etc.
The Farmers Market every Sunday morning is a real treat and lots of our guests visit to listen to music, buy the flowers and organic fruits and vegies and also to eat the great food.
Serves wonderful sandwiches and salads and on Saturdays has barbequed kabobs. The owner Vahik is very nice.
Bakery open 7 days a week and serves great freshly made bagels, baked goods and sandwiches. Has great coffee and egg dishes also.
A fabulous upscale seafood Mexican Cafe that serves lunch and dinner and has the best Margarittas in town!
Upscale Chinese Restaurant that has wonderful food and great drinks. Only a couple of mins walk away.
For the freshest fish and best sandwiches, soups and salads made with all locally caught seafood.
Serve yourself deliciously flavored yoghurts and then help yourself to all the fresh fruit toppings. Just weigh and pay. It is so good.
A fantastic Day Spa for facials, massage etc. They really pamper you in a luxurious setting.

Hi My name is Michelle Aarons and I was born and raised in Melbourne Australia.
I moved to La Jolla in 1980 and fell inlove with the people and the place. Since then my husband, Roger Bains and I have raised our 2 daughters here in La Jolla at Windansea and just adore this area of the world. We have made many trips back to Aus and all over the world which we enjoy very much, however, its always great to return to La Jolla. We are so grateful to live here and to have the opportunity to share our cottages with people from all over. It is also great when we get to meet some of our guests and here how they are enjoying their stay.
