Michelle is very accomodating, allowing us to check out late when our plane was delayed, her husband is lovely too. We were pleasantly surprised and loved all the personal touches in the cottage, especially the kitchen cupboard handles ;-) BBQ on a summer night in the courtyard with fairy lights was great, the main bed room is very sweet, loved the linen. Absolutly everything you could need is provided, I love to cook, and the kitchen did not dissapoint. We could of stayed for a month. Washing machine and free laundry liquid was very welcolmed, thank you. I would suggest a small clothes line outside to hang wet towels and washed clothes on, as I do like to save our environment and not use a dryer, but we managed to overcome that by buying some string and pegs. Clothes where dry in an hour. Location - Wow - it's perfect, a walk to the end of the street and you are on a gorgeous beach with a walking path that is so relaxing and great exercise at the same time. Lo Jolla village is amazing and you can take a short drive there to eat at delicious restaurants, every one is so friendly in La Jolla, it is a must see and stay at location.

Great location. An easy stroll to rugged Windansea beach and a fifteen minute walk to the middle of La Jolla Village. The cottage provided ample space for our family of three and our ten year old enjoyed playing in the private backyard and the use of the boogie boards. Was missing a few finishing touches that could have made it a bit more homely eg fresh flowers and a welcome basket but generally rooms were clean and the cottage tidy. Towels and linens were freshly washed but obviously been frequently laundered as they looked and felt a little worn. Local information was provided via a plastic folder and guidebooks. We recommend Don Carlos Taco on Pearl Street as a great place for cheap but tasty Mexican take out.

We had six people staying all together, and the two that had to sleep on the sofa bed couldn't sleep at all because the sofa was old and uncomfortable. The other beds were good. Pictures were cracked on the glass. When we arrived, we decided to have a barbecue. We found out that the propane tank was empty, after we had the food ready to put on the grill. We called the manager and she said that she would bring over a new propane tank the next day. We had to go out and purchase one ourselves that night. The property was close to the beach which was nice. the furniture were very old. the place was clean. i was expecting that the manager would call us after our arrival to make sure everything was OK and if we needed anything but we did not get any calls. the place overall was over priced for the location and the furniture and the building structure age. when we got there the garbage tanks outside were still full of garbage.
Owner response:It is very important for our guests to enjoy their stay and I am sorry it seemed not as positive for this guest as for others. There was a picture hanging with cracked glass from the previous guest, we have since replaced it with another picture. The furniture throughout the cottage was all bought brand new just 2 yrs ago from Mor Furniture here in San Diego. The trash collection in our neighbourhood is on a Monday and these guests arrived Saturday evening to full trash. This is out of our hands until the City collects on Monday morning. I will certainly address the fold out sleeper sofa and look to buy a mattress topper to make it more comfortable. As for the propane gas, I offerred to replace it and the guest said he did and so we reimbursed him for it. Nevertheless its great to get feedback so we know how we can strive to always improve our home so your vacation is better than you would ever expect.

We stayed here for a week in July with our 3 year old and dog. The property is clean, well maintained in a nice neighborhood and has a great patio/backyard. The property is pet friendly and there is a park at the end of the street for dogs. Michelle was extremely helpful and friendly making sure we had everything we needed. She even provided jumper cables when our car had a dead battery. The house is located just a short walk to Wind and Sea Beach. Wind and Sea beach is probably not the best beach for young kids as there are no public restrooms and the ocean tends to be a little rough. We spent a lot of time at La Jolla Shores Beach (Michelle also has a property here). Overall a great week in La Jolla. Thanks!

Beautiful cottage in a good location. This property was a welcome haven for our family of 5 for our week in San Diego. Out all day and then back to the lovely patio/back garden for a relaxing BBQ each evening. The cottage spotless and spacious with plenty of linens, . The nearest beach Windandsea was quite rough but there are other beaches nearby. Overall we loved it. Thanks Michelle.

We stayed in this cottage for the entire month and it quickly began to feel like home to us. We had our 2 dogs with us. There is a nice yard for them to play in and of course the great dog friendly town and beaches. The beaches are 2.5 blocks and the wonderful LaJolla Farmers Market is barely a mile walk. We went every weekend, but they don't allow dogs, so plan for that. There are plenty of restaurants around, a Von's about 1 mile away and Trader Joes about 5 miles. Not bad. The cottage is an older one but generally in good shape. Everything worked except a second fan - which we really didn't need anyway. I will stay here again. Michelle and Roger are great landlords and helpful, friendly people.

My family and I rented this cottage in May 2009. It was an excellent location in La Jolla and very close to cove and shops. Just blocks from a beautiful quiet beach. We did have to cross one busy street though. It was dog friendly and lots of beach toys in the garage. Hoping for more Bikes! Loved all the plants in the backyard including 3 really neat air plants attached to the walls. Never seen anything like it. Neighborhood was friendly and 10-15 walking distance to La Jolla Elementary School where they had an amazing farmers market on Sunday.

This was our first time with a month long vacation rental and we were not disappointed. The accomodations were as advertised, Michelle was extremely helpful with anything that came up (including having her daughter pet sit our two dogs when we overnighted on Catalina Island), and the neighborhood and La Jolla location were top notch. Don't miss dining at the Marine Room, George's, Jack's, or Trattoria Acqua and try the carry outs at Mandarin House and Sante. Jonathan's Market was a find for excellent (albeit somewhat pricey) meats, seafood, and produce. Outside La Jolla, we enjoyed field trips to the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, Cabrillo (Point Loma), Coronado (have lunch at the Del), the aforementioned Catalina Island, Torrey Pines State Preserve, and dining in Del Mar at Jake's and Il Fornaio. And the German cuisine at Kaiserhof in San Diego was outstanding! Jim and Carla Sheridan, WY

PERFECT accommodations for our family of 5. We were only able to stay 2 nights due to school schedules but would love to come back to enjoy the neighborhood, beach and backyard. We spent our time at Lego Land and San Diego Zoo. Thanks for the hospitality.

We stayed in the cottage for a week. The location was wonderful. Walking distance to the Sunday farmers market, longer walk, but beautiful to seals and downtown. It's great to be in a neighborhood. Accommodations included things usually not with vacation rentals such as boogie boards, wagon, bikes, beach chairs and toys. Yard is relaxing after being out all day. Owners were a delight. Not fancy, but very much worth the money.

We stayed here for 3 weeks, while having work done on our house. We loved the charm of cottage and being closer to the beach then where we live. It gave us the feel of being on vacation. We had a lot of fun walking or riding our bikes to go for coffee, ice cream or out to eat. Michelle was very welcoming to us and our Dog Ovy. We couldn't of felt more at home! We really had a great time! Cindy, Rob & Virginia

The photos don't do this justice! Very clean and vintage....in all the right ways. Loved the ability to sit on the front patio and in the backyard under twinkly lights.
