  This is my second stay and future go to place for all that saltwater cures! The location is perfection and the views amazing. Staring at the ocean, walking the beach or cuddling up with a good book and glass of wine with the sound of the waves accompanying you wherever you are is simplistic heaven. You can choose to do as much as you like (surfing, paddle boarding, hiking, kite flying) or huddle up on the deck and watch the day pass by. You need no car, everything is in walking distance if you can pull yourself away from the magic of the Castle House. I found the owner to be kind and invested in my having a wonderful experience. Thank you for a perfect respite.

  We were thrilled with the location and could have happily stayed longer than a week. Perfect place to have no agenda, and each day go with any mood - to stay put at the house, drive to Point Reyes, Marin Headlands, Muir Woods, Mill Valley, Sausalito or SF (though we were too relaxed and never went into the city). Excellent kitchen for cooking, plenty of options for eating out, and the best is buying drinks from the market just one minute away and enjoying them on the deck and watching the ocean. Spectacular sunrise and sunset views, changing landscapes with the weather and mists on the mountain. The bed in the master bedroom is wonderfully comfortable. You can walk the beach and in minutes get morning coffee outside Parkside Cafe, and the cafe itself has the best breakfast burritos. The nearby market has plenty of staples, and if you are having more meals in and want variety, check out Mill Valley Market. The owner is very organized and thoughtful, and this was a fantastic experience that we hope to repeat.

  My husband and I spent our 30th wedding anniversary here - alternating between just ourselves, our kids joining us, and then friends coming down. What a fantastic place! It isn't particularly large, but you absolutely CANNOT beat the location. The house is literally on the sand with unobstructed views of ocean and sunsets. It is quaint and well-stocked with necessities. The front deck is huge - much time was spent outside watching the surf and passers-by. The photos Elida has posted are exactly as the house was when rented. We would definitely love to go back. A+++

  I just have to say, my family and I just stayed at this oceanfront property and I have to say it is so beautiful. I really enjoyed it inside and out. We really enjoyed sitting out on the deck, and while my grandsons played in the sand in front of the property, I was able to sit on the steps going down from the deck to watch them. My son, his wife and I enjoyed playing games in the evenings at the table. It was so peaceful, and not too far from the city. The drive from Mill Valley at first was a little intense for me coming from Alaska, we dont have too many roads like that drive, but after a few stabs at it, I got used to the road, and didnt get lost. Thank you for trusting this beautiful home to my family. I recommend this house to anyone looking for a beach rental. I hope who ever rents this beautifl place in the future enjoys it as much as my family and I enjoyed it.

  I have stayed at the Castle House every year for the last 5 years and count the days until my next visit. Great for time by myself or with the family and grandchildren. The home is beautiful with the best views. Extremely private even though located right on the beach. Let the surf rock you to sleep or totally relax you while reading on the deck. Park your car for the week and walk steps to the video/ice cream store, market, restaurants, cafe or library. The Castle House is the perfect get-a-way!

  We have stayed at the Castle House several times over the years and each time is absolutely magical! Where else can you sleep in a castle right on the sand? I must admit it can be a little freaky when at high tide the waves lap up under the bedroom, but that is part of the magic. As for the accommodations, they are everything you would want for a vacation getaway. Comfortable and cozy. You can isolate yourself from the world, or walk 10 minutes to downtown Stinson with all it has to offer. Breakfast on the deck when the sun climbs over the mountains behind you, or cocktails as the sun sets over the Pacific - it's Magic! We can't wait to go back!

  This house could not be situated in a better location. It is furnished nicely, but nothing too fancy. The bathrooms could use a serious update, and when using the toilet, I had to sit part way into the shower. However, the owner of this property is so uptight about everything, that you felt totally unwelcome in the house. Only at the last moment (the night before) did she send the details of getting the key, etc, and there was a laundry list of don's. dont take my pillows, don't take my pots, don't dirty my deck, and on and on. I can understand her concern about water, as all water goes into a holding tank, but really. To make the two days totally unpleasant, after we left we were accused of putting a hole in her rather ratty rice paper shades, and had to fork up $75 of the deposit. I say: STAY AWAY!!!

  I just returned from a 10-day stay at the Oceanfront Castle House at Stinson Beach where I went to celebrate my 50th birthday as well as to work on a book I am writing. The house was perfect for my purposes. I LOVED going to bed every night and waking up every morning to the sounds of the ocean; looking outside virtually every window and seeing the ocean, sunrise, and sunset. The house is comfortable with a well appointed kitchen, ideal for a small family, and particularly ideal for providing inspiration for a creative endeavor. The solitude, peacefulness, and sounds of ocean and birds provided the perfect sanctuary I needed for my writing, as well as the perfect beautiful space for celebrating my 50th. I can't wait to go back!!! I highly recommend it!!!

  The location is great! However, this is a lovely old beach house with some idiosyncracies; cell phone dead zone; kitchen sink plumbing failed; and the new glass electric stove top is extremely high maintenance. And, the landlady withheld a significant portion of the security deposit for some wear and tear to the unsealed exposed deck and plastic chairs. If you plan to rent, take "before" pictures to get your entire deposit refunded.

  Our family has stayed in the castle 5 times in the last three years. It is the most magical home on earth. Where else can you experience an ocean setting from a home that sits literally ON the beach? The attention to detail is clearly that of designer/architect owner. Everything in it's place, and impossible to improve on. When the sea and clouds decide it is not the best of beach weather, we are always warm and comfortable, curled up on the turrets sofa, camera at the ready. We cannot thank the owner enough for letting us share this very special home, and making it feel like our own. It's perfect in every way.
