Perfect townhouse for Family!!!

We had a great time staying at this townhome in Ornos,on Myconos Island. The location was great. A short nice walk to the beach. Great restaurants, supermarket, and wonderful bakery!! We didn't want to leave. I think if we get a chance to go back to Mykonos, we'll try to stay here again... Thanks you Jill Dimitris and family

Mykonos in September

We had a wonderful week with 2 friends from Athens at this apartment with all the amenities one could hope for (Wifi! We subsequently travelled to Amsterdam where it was much more difficult to get a connection.) The owners had generously donated the place to a fundraising auction for Volunteers in Medicine, an organization that supplies retired medical professionals to people in need. That generosity of spirit is evident in the house where great care has been taken to make visitors feel welcome and it is clear that the enjoyment of the guests is a primary concern. We especially loved being there in the off season when the sea was still deliciously warm but the crowds had diminished. We ate at Ithaka restaurant on Ornos beach multiple times and enjoyed every meal. It had also been recommended by other friends from Athens who frequent Mykonos by boat. A trip To Delos was a special highlight. All in all, we can highly recommend this rental.

Decent, not the best, accommodations

We paid $1500 for a week in September, and the accommodations were decent, but not, I think, worth $1500. Pros: walking distance to the beach a/c, washer/dryer, kitchen available nice balcony dining free internet free transfers close to restaurants and mini-markets relatively quiet nice view of the pool and courtyard close enough to enjoy Mykonos Town but not have to deal w/crowds very hot water and great water pressure (be careful with small kids, though) Cons: horrible, horrible bed. when i told my husband i was going to write, "it was like sleeping on a cot," his response was, "you're doing a disservice to cots." we enjoyed our stay but couldn't wait to get back to a hotel with a decent bed. contrary to ad, there were no beach towels. and the only bath towels available were the two scratchy ones doled out by the cleaning staff. the only staples were some vinegar and 1/2 roll of toilet paper, so come prepared. we didn't find any restaurants we liked within walking distance. $12 euro/day for two chairs on the beach (came w/2 bottles of water) no view of the sea pool didn't have any chairs very steep walking we had to remind the agents about our return pickup, and the cab driver ended up being late. plan accordingly. power went out several times during our visit.

Owner response:I'm sorry that this guest didn't have a perfect holiday, as this is what we always strive to achieve for all of our guests. We would like to reply to each of their concerns as every renter's opinion is important to us: 1) Bed - normal European double bed mattress. We have had a total of 61 renters since 2007, and this has been the first complaint about the bed; 2) The ad does not state beach towels are in the villa, and as a matter of fact, on 8/9/2010 the guest was emailed a "Welcome to Mykonos" information sheet (as all guests are) which said on the top of page 2, "no beach towels available". 3) There were always 2 bath towels available for every guest, and these were cleaned during the free midweek cleaning. More were available if they had requested them from the property manager; 4) Toilet paper is supplied, and plenty is available if needed by asking the property manager or leaving a note for the cleaning lady; 5) food and condiments are not supplied, and nowhere on the web site does it state that we provide food and food supplies - this would be extremely unusual for any rental property!; 6) Restaurants - we provide all of our guests with a 10% discount certificate for the nicer restaurants in Ornos Beach, but we can't insure that everybody likes a certain kind of food or restaurant; 7) Beach chair rental - these are the property of the beach restaurants and tavernas and have nothing to do with the rental house. I do know that if you eat or drink there, the beach chair rentals are free of charge; 8) the ad states "near the ocean" and not "view of the sea" - we never want to be misleading to our clients; 9) In the third paragraph of the previously mentioned "Welcome to Mykonos" information sheet, it states "no pool furniture available"; 10) Mykonos is a volcanic island as all Greek islands are, and steep walking can be encountered anywhere; 11) The property manager made 3 attempts to contact renter about departure times before contact was finally made; 12) power outages - what can I say - Mykonos is a small island and all islands are prone to power outages now and then! 13) The property manager's phone number is listed on the Welcome sheet, and they live right across the pool from my house in the same complex. If they are not contacted about any problems during a guest's stay, they can't fix or correct things to make the stay more comfortable! I appreciate the comments, and hope that my reply has clarified all of the concerns of this guest.

Your home is absolutely gorgeous. As soon as you enter for the first time, you breathe the vacation spirit, with a special personal note, we haven't found anywhere else so far! As for the island itself, it's welcoming with a lot of nice, relaxing spots. Summing up, we loved this week - the house, the island, the Greek people...we will definitely come back! It will stay forever in our minds and in the more than 1,500 pictures taken!

Your vacation home is beautiful! We stayed here with our 4 year old and the set up was perfect! We visited many of the beaches while we were here, and spent the last day in Ornos and stayed at the beach until 7 PM and had dinner. We had a wonderful time - thank you!

My family has stayed at this house three times in the last 3 years, and we have enjoyed it every year. The house is decorated in a very nice Greek style, it is very comfortable and has all the things we need to have a great family holiday. It is clean, and in a very easy location to get to the beach and lots of local restaurants. We are Greeks living in Athens and have been to many islands and to many rental houses, and we think this is one of the best we have stayed in - we will be back again next year!

What a lovely house this is! Very stylish and comfortable, and our two children loved their gallery bedroom! This was our first trip to Mykonos, and we have been most impressed! Ornos Beach is absolutely lovely, and in our opinion has the best beach for families. We mostly spent our days on the beach and then got in the habit of taking the bus to Mykonos for some evening shopping and a meal.You have to visit Mykonos town at least half a dozen times to discover all it's little secrets!

Your home is beautiful with a welcoming and sophisticated ambience - we enjoyed it tremendously! We spent time on the patio having breakfast and "frappe" and went to the numerous beaches. The town was very vibrant and all of the restaurants we tried were delicious. Overall, our trip was amazing.

I had one of the best vacation until now.Bedrooms are great (I really enjoyed the one in the upper section),privacy,organized kitchen,a lot of amenities included such as wifi.You can go on foot to Ornos beach which is approximately 8-10' walking.Very nice restaurants in the area and you need nearly 15' driving to go to Chora.Delos was great as well!!!I can't wait for the next time!
