You will rarely find a lake house as nice as this for rent. Our newer house is nestled on 440 acres lake (with 400 feet of the lake frontage) on the shore of 16 Mile Lake. This is one of the finest and largest spring fed lakes in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with many islands. Total privacy on this 6.2 acre wooded property is a big plus. The huge deck 34’x18’ has table and chairs so you can dine al fresco or enjoy magnificent lake view and peaceful evenings.
The lake offers very good fishing, swimming, canoeing and plain relaxation, while watching wildlife, the breathtaking sunrise and northern lights.
The house is completely furnished and includes a washer/dryer, refrigerator, microwave oven, dishwasher, outdoor gas grill, all cooking and eating utensils, 2 TVs and DVD. House has 3 bedrooms (including master bedroom), 2 full bathrooms, dining room and living room. All floors are elegant Brazilian cherry wood. Package includes 14’ fishing boat. House is set up to sleep up to six.
FISHING: 16 Mile Lake is a well known bass lake. Besides bass there is northern pike, perch, and catfish. For trout you can try Lake Superior nearby.
ACTIVITIES: Munising (7 miles away) has many wonderful attractions. Lake Superior is just 10 min. away with Picture Rocks Boat Cruises, Glass Bottom Boat Wrecks tours, numerous waterfalls and mile long Hawaiian-like sugar sandy beaches. Marquette (38 miles away) is the largest town in UP. Marquette area offers magnificent Lake Superior shore parks, restaurants with great meals. Local gift shops have many great souvenirs to bring home from your vacation.

Rate Details (In US Dollars)
$150-$175/night .. $1050-$1200/week.
Check in time 4PM, check out time 11AM. $200 deposit is needed
to make a reservation. 50% will be refunded if cancelled at least
6 weeks before arrival. $200 security deposit as well as rental
agreement is required.

This is a beautiful, quiet, private location. The fishing is great fun and the beach is perfect for launching kayaks or canoes to explore the lake. We have enjoyed watching the eagles, sand hill cranes, ospreys, and other birds as we paddle around the islands and coves, or as we sit on the deck and look out over the lake. The house is very clean and well-maintained; the amenities are excellent and well-represented in the property description. Within a short drive are many waterfalls to visit, beaches on Lake Superior, parks and national forests, and many more activities. The nearby towns of Munising, Wetmore, and Au Train have several choices for canoe and kayak rental, shopping, dining out, and entertainment. We are planning our third visit to this great getaway and hope to continue to visit for years to come. The owners are very gracious and generous hosts to offer this lovely home for others to enjoy.

We found a little slice of heaven! The home is lovely and exceeded out expectations. The grounds are beautiful and secluded. We enjoyed many campfires on the private beach. The star gazing is amazing. We visited during peak colors. Everywhere we drove was incredibly beautiful.. We went waterfall hunting and enjoyed a ride on the Picture Rock Cruise - a must see. We have rented a few vacation houses through the years. This is our favorite!!!!!
