Forget the commercialism and congestion of the Cape, Martha's Vineyard or even Southern Maine. This beautiful and unique property is located right in the center of the Maine Coast, situated perfectly between Portland (which is exactly 1 hour to the South) and Bar Harbor (Acadia National Park). The property sits atop 2.5 private acres of land on a hill sloping down to the Atlantic Ocean, and consists of a newly built 1900 square foot cape home (1998), a renovated boat house/guest house and a 40 foot deep water pier with a commercially built floating dock. The house has a crisp, bright, open post and beam layout, with a modern island kitchen, 3 upstairs bedrooms (sleeping 6) and a spacious wrap-around deck overlooking the water. (There are 1.5 baths in the main house and 1 bath in the guest house).
The converted guest house is newly renovated. It has vaulted high ceilings, granite tile flooring and sleeps 4 comfortably. The guest house is a bit more rustic the main house, and is ideal for the kids and extended family. It includes a pool table, air hockey and a fooseball table for the kids or for adults.
The property comes equipped with three boats (a single kayak, a three person canoe-kayak hybrid and a two person ocean kayak), along with life jackets and paddles ready for your families' enjoyment. The kayaking in this area is world famous, and you can explore dozens of pristine islands right from off of the dock. You can also eat fresh lobster daily right on the floating dock, or at Broad Cove Marine (about two hundred yards away). Damariscotta, with its famous harbor, restaurants and a Hannaford's shopping center, is only 10-15 minutes from the house. Pemaquid Point Beach, one of Maine's most gorgeous sandy beaches and home to the most photographed lighthouse in the world, Pemaquid Point Light, is about 20-25 minutes from the house. The popular towns of Camden and Boothbay Harbor are each about 20-30 miles away.
Everything you need for your stay is provided, including a fully equiped kitchen, linens, wireless internet, outdoor furniture and grill, a DVD player with dozens of DVDs, Direct TV, a bose IPOD docking stereo station and a 42-inch LCD HD TV.

Georgeous and Charming Location

This was the perfect location for us to explore all that the coast of Maine has to offer. The property itself is very charming, and accomodated our party of 10 very comfortably. We especially liked the quiet, "off the beaten path" feel. It really felt like old Maine, and we especially enjoyed the kayaking, the deck and the large yard for our two dogs. The kids had their own separate house in the guest house, and we would all come together for meals on the deck. Gorgeous spot, perfect location, tranquil setting. All in all, I can't recommend this place enough for people who want a classic Maine feel.

We rented the house for our family of ten and it worked out great. It was very clean and located in a great spot to get to many things. We especially enjoyed the large kitche/dining room/ family room as a gathering spot. The large deck provided a great area also. Most of the cooking utensils we needed were provided and the fans upstairs helped at night. The extra room in the garage worked out nicely for our adult children. The boats and dock provided great entertainment. We also took advantage of the lobsters 2 doors down and it made it very convenient. All in all it was a great vacation place.

We rented the house for a birthday/reunion gathering last week. This house was perfect for us all to be together and also have our own space to sleep. The additional cottage like the main house was clean and modernly decorated. Every morning we enjoyed our coffee on the back deck amidst the tranquil setting. Fresh lobster (live or cooked) is available for sale down the road by the local Lobstermen at very reasonable prices. The house is centrally located and just a short ride to the many sites along the Maine midcoast. For us it was one of our best vacations!

The main house was perfect for our family. The kids enjoyed going down to the "beach" and taking trips out on the kayak with their dad. This was our first trip to Maine and we will definately be back. Maine is wonderful and this house was a good first introduction to Maine.

We've been coming to Maine every summer for years, but never really stayed in the Mid Coast area. What a treat! There was so much to do and see within 30 minutes of Bremen, and the home was perfect for us. From the moment we got there, we felt that this is a special place to be. And the lobster was unbelievable! We ate lobster every day that we were there, sometimes having it brought right to our door by the neighbors who are lobstermen. Plus, if you have pets, they will love it here! Our dogs have never been happier in their life. The location was perfect too. It was just a short drive to Boothbay Harbor, Camden, Portland and some other beautiful towns like Wiscasset.

This was a wonderful place to experience the coast of Maine! The house was adorable and the location just perfect. We were able to do so many things within a short drive and when we weren't exploring we had a fabulous time relaxing on the deck.

What a great time we had at your house! The 4 older kids enjoyed there own little retreat in the guest house away from the parents. You can't ask for a better time in Maine. We enjoyed the canoe & Kayak and made it out to the small islands nearby exploring; walked to the lobster pound down the street almost every day and we were well located to other towns and beaches. I hope to come again soon.

My husand and I and our two babies (dogs, that is!) just had the best time in Bremen! We had never been to Maine and all of our expectations were surpassed. This is a very beautiful and peaceful place and I can't recommend it enough.
