great house and view. The caretaker, Sergio was super. Wonderful value for a vacation rental. Pool always clean and home well maintained. Secure and never locked the door.

Our stay at Casa del Mar was very pleasant. This home was like a home away from home that felt safe and relaxing. There is a wonderful caretaker, Sergio and two very friendly watch dogs. Also, the owner was very helpful and pleasant to communicate with via email. The views, pool and comfort of the home made it enjoyable and beyond our expectations! The town of San Juan del Sur was about a 15-20 minute walk through rolling hills in a developing community. We recommend it for anyone who wants a secluded, beautiful casa del mar.

Words just can’t express how amazing the view from this house is…especially at sunset! Inside the house was everything that four adults needed to enjoy the home and our trip. Prior to booking the house we had a few questions for the owner and he was fast about responding. We had an amazing trip and this house was a BIG part of it.

Great location. Fabulous view. Responsive hlep. Nice structure. Here's the bad. Showed up for a two week stay and found no toilet paper or paper towels and linnens were threadbare and crunchy. No water from showerhead in one bathroom and funky in the other. Absolutly no hot water anywhere. Privacy in bedroom and bathroom windows was at best 30% because of missing and malfunctioning curtain parts. No ice. Coffee maker feeble. Closets and drawers full of owners personnal stuff and misc junk. Could be a very nice rental. Suggest the owner, who seems responsive, spend a little time there.

Owner response:Steve, Thank you for letting me know the condition of the house upon your arrival. It has been 6 months since I have visited and it is difficult managing things from here in the US. I had a very strong talk with my staff there about your concerns and I can assure you it will not happen to the next guest. Sheets and towels were taken care of within days of your arrival along with the water problems. There is even hot water installed now in both bathrooms which there has never been in this home. And the owner closet has been locked which it should have been before your arrival. If you come to visit Nicaragua again please feel free to visit Casa Del Mar, enjoy the view. You will not be disappointed.

A week in Paradise that we won't soon forget

This vacation was everything we expected and much more. The view from the patio overlooking the Pacific Ocean was breathtaking. The house was perfect - had everything we needed and was clean and well maintained. The pictures didn't do it justice. Sergio, the caretaker, made our stay extra special. There was nothing that we needed or wanted that he didn't see that we had. He made sure that we were taken care of every minute without interfering with our stay. I decided not to rent a car as parking sometimes in town could be hard to find so Sergio called Alex and he picked us up in his cab every day, sometimes twice a day, and took us anywhere we wanted to go. Our ages range from 40 to 79 years old and each and eveyone of us had a fantastic time. We will certainly go back and stay here again if we have the chance. Thank you Jack, Seregio and Alex for the trip we will never forget.

We have a house near Granada and chose this house for a "getaway". We had a wonderful week in this beautiful home that has the ultimate 180 degree view west of the Pacific ocean for unforgettable sunsets. Short walk to water and short drive or 20 minute walk to town. (Up and down some steep hills) Caretaker (Cuidador) is friendly, helpful and the entire ambience is one of serenity and beauty.

I stayed in this home over new years and the location couldn't be more gorgeous. Sitting high on the ridge north of San Juan Del Sur with views overlooking the ocean and bluffs just north. There is a really cool little beach just a short walk down some stairs. The beach has a lot of rock outcroppings and tide pools to explore. The actual beach is small but there was no one else there and it was the perfect put in for snorkeling. It is a very short drive to town so you can drive in and back a few times a day if you like. The home is very comfortable. I brought my two teenagers there and was pleasantly surprised by the selection of VHS movies they could watch. The caretaker was very helpful and exceptionally kind and the owners communication great. We'd love to go back!
