Waipouli Beach Resort and Spa is without question, one of the island's most luxurious oceanfront resorts, located in historic Kapaa on the Royal Coconut Coast where the royalty of ancient Hawaii chose to live. It is ten minutes north of the airport and midway between the northern and southern parts of the island. Within a 30-minute drive in either direction, you can visit many of the beautiful beaches on Kauai while staying in a less crowded area that is walking distance to several shops and restaurants. Lydgate State Park is a 5-minute drive away.

The resort has a heated, lazy-river fantasy pool with three waterfalls, a cave, two water slides, and three sand-bottom hot tubs. In addition, there is a sand-bottom wading pool, a Tahitian pool bar, a poolside snack bar, and gas barbecues. Guests can keep in shape at the work-out facility, enjoy a long walk along the sandy beach, or indulge in a sensory experience at the Aveda Lifestyle Salon and Spa. Daily housekeeping service is included and provided by the friendly, on-site staff who manages this unit and can respond, at times, in just seconds.

The owner has painstakingly selected furnishings to accommodate both the functional and pleasurable aspects of a vacation such as desk space with a PC (2GHz) and printer and a full complement of standard digital and HDTV channels on three SONY XBR LCD televisions, including a DVD and CD collection for your entertainment. You can enjoy your favorite music as well as a selection of island classics on the in-suite stereo.

LOCAL CONVENIENCES:
Across the street is the Kauai Village Shopping Center Marketplace with a Safeway (open 24 hours), Long's Drugs, Starbucks, Cold Stone Creamery, an organic market, and numerous restaurants. Shopping is just a short walk to the Coconut Marketplace with small shops, galleries, restaurants, and a theater. Within a three-minute drive is Old Kapaa town, full of many eclectic shops and wonderful restaurants to choose from.

ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE.
Kauai offers a multitude of activities and many beautiful beaches that will keep you happy and busy. The more popular activities are swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, helicopter tours, ocean tours of the NaPali coast, golf, tennis, hiking, kayaking, or you can just relax at the resort's pool.

Lydgate State Park is a 5-minute drive away and has lifeguards and protected ocean pools - very popular with kids. There is a boulder-enclosed pool that let's fish and water in and keeps out the ocean's forces making it the best place on the island to learn to snorkel, and there is a shallower pool for smaller kids.     • What a great place. There are definitely some things that make this particular unit a really smart choice. We have stayed at Waipouli two years in a row now. First, location REALLY matters at Waipouli. The 2brm 3BA units are almost all identical, but some overlook a Safeway parking lot, some a full ocean view, some view mountains and fields, others simply the walls of their neighbors, and some, like this unit, have both interior pool view and ocean view. This view worked REALLY well for us. We have kids and having a full view of the incredible interior of the resort with its spectacular pool, waterfalls, slides, etc as well as the ocean gave us a great mix and really entertained the kids. This unit has a computer and printer in it, with free internet access. I used it everyday to check weather, look up activites, directions and even printed a $20 coupon for a boat ride. Very important - The pricing of these Waipouli units is all over the map. There are some big variables as far as cleaning goes. This unit includes DAILY MAID SERVICE and full cleaning when you leave AT NO EXTRA CHARGE. Many other units include no daily cleaning, charge for midweek cleaning AND for cleaning when you leave. Your cleaning bill could add hundreds of dollars to your stay! In addition, THIS unit is managed by the onsite company, Outrigger. Because of this, you get daily amenities like clean towels, shampoo, etc... and more importantly, if something goes wrong like an air conditioner, stove, etc... they can respond in minutes to fix it, versus you trying to contact the owner, agent, etc and having them contact their handyman, etc... As an aside, since this unit is managed by the onsite Outrigger people, which costs this owner a bundle, you have the priviledge of charging things to your room, like dinner, drinks etc while at the restaurant, spa, yada yada... versus having to carry your purse to the pool, etc... It came in quite handy when I was not expecting to need refreshments. On another financial note, I just saw that this owner is now INLCUDING tax!!! If you take out the tax, departure cleaning, and daily cleaning, it means he is really renting his interior ocean view unit for a comparable rate of around $250 a night, very much on the low end for this view type. Last this particular owner has been very pleasant and professional. He worked with me to hold my dates for a couple of days till I could book good deals on airfare. He sent very helpful maps and information in advance which helped me plan my trip better. And, he sent my full security deposit back immediately. If you look closely at Waipouli rates on here, through Outrigger, or even Costco, you will see that this room type, view type, and amenities included is a better value than you will find anywhere else on the property. I know because I have really hunted around!

    • We had a great time at this condo/resort. Unit F304 is nicely situated in the resort and the location of the resort itself was good for access to all of the island. The pool was heated and we even got my 72 year old Mom who can't swim to go down one of the waterslides. The sand in the bottom of the hot tubs was neat. There was a cooler and beach chairs in the second bedroom closet which were nice to have for our day trips. The internet was also nice to have so we could watch the weather forecast and plan our excursions accordingly. We will be recommending this condo to others. Thanks Chris. Dan & Marj Alberta Canada

    • Our family highly recommends staying at this condo. We had an amazing vacation. The resort and unit are truly the best accommodations we have ever stayed in - you literally have everything you could ever need (or want) at your fingertips. We have two young children, so having the extra space was fabulous. And, the owner far exceeded our expectations by catering to our every need. As other reviews have said, the pool is fantastic and staying across the street from the Safeway is extremely convenient. As if that weren't enough, we found the location to be perfect for traveling north to Princeville or south to Poipu. Lastly, we cannot stress enough how accommodating the owners are - they were truly a pleasure to deal with. My 4 year old keeps asking me when we're going back so I'm fairly certain that a repeat stay is in our future. The Budeshtsky Family

    • We had a fantastic stay in F304. It was better than advertised. Our kids loved the pool area and despite being there during Spring Break, it never felt crowded. The beachside grill was decent and convenient (including poolside service). With young kids in tow, you cannot beat having a Safeway directly across the street! Pizzetta and Kintaro were great restaurants nearby (you will definitely need a reservation for Kintaro). Although a tedious drive for kids, Waimea Canyon should not be missed. Overall, one of our best vacations in Hawaii.

    • The condo was great, never stayed in such a top shelf condo unit like this before. Chris has provided everything one would need including a computer and ipod station. The location in the complex was good because you got the whole pool view and partial ocean view past the pool. The beachside bar and grill was a nice addition especially during happy hour every day between 4 and 6. Would stay here again on our next visit to the lovely island of Kauai.

    • What a wonderful unit and owner! We stayed here with another couple over New Year's and couldn't have been happier. Chris even sent us champagne to celebrate New Year's Eve! The unit and resort are beautiful and the location is great. We will gladly stay here again and will recommend Unit F304 to our friends.

    • This was our first trip to Kauai and we could not have been more pleased. The entire resort is well put together. Chris's unit is in the perfect location. It is set back from the pool so you don't get bothered by the joyful noise, yet you see the pool and ocean. The unit is VERY well appointed...there was not one thing that we said we wished we had! We would cook breakfast at the condo and I was pleased at all the ammenities. I don't like to go on vacation and "make do" and that was NEVER an issue. Our girls enjoyed their own room equipped with their "own TV, awesome big bath and deck with a view of the slides and Arials swim grotto." The poolside bar service made it very relaxing for mom and dad, and Jason at the Grill is so welcoming. Don't forget to take your morning coffee to the beach...two of our mornings the Hawaiian Monk seals were sunning themselves. Kapaa has many great places to eat...a must on your way back from exploring you have to stop at Buritto Head. The owner is from CA and so friendly. The best chicken taco...we were bummed we only got to eat there twice. As for sit down nice restuarants, two top our list...#1 Kintaro Japanese Restaurant #2 Hukilau Lanai. Don't waist your time or money at Coconuts...after 2.5 hours our kids were going to the bartender for water refills. No ONO there!! The shopping center across the street is very convenient. After a long day at the beach, we walked across the street, got the kids a Cold Stone, walked back to the resort and sat watching the Koi fish and counting the frogs...it doesn't get much more relaxing than that!! We recommmend this unit and owner any time. Thanks again Chris...Mahalo!!

    • What a great resort and a wonderful unit. As this unit is situated on the 3rd floor, facing the pool (with a bit of a view of the ocean beyond), it was magical sitting out on the lanai at night, looking at the tiki torches lighting up the gorgeous pool. Our kids could spend most of the day at the pool with waterfalls, slides, food service, towel service and a family hot tub. The owner of the unit was very helpful and had the place stocked with everything you need, down to laundry soap, coffee, a clean kitchen sponge, and an amazing kitchen. Daily cleaning service made staying in a condo that much more relaxing for the whole family. We plan on returning next year.
