Beautiful, original, 1960s modern house perfectly sited on an acre of wooded land. Architect designed and built in 1969 and unchanged since. Double height living room, dining room, and upstairs deck face glass wall. Year round hot tub and outdoor shower. Total privacy.

Picture a box with cedar shingles on three sides and a glass wall facing south, located on a dead-end country road where very little land has been cleared, so that the woods extend beyond our acre. The house is extremely light in winter and well shaded in summer. In addition to the glass wall, the windows are floor-to-ceiling jalousies. The living room opens directly onto a deck surrounded by rhododendrons and trees.

Oak Hill Lane is off the well beaten path and equidistant to East Hampton and Sag Harbor villages (about three and a half miles either way). We usually bicycle or drive to a wonderful, little used, ocean beach in Wainscott. The area is surrounded by great bay and ocean beaches all available to East Hampton residents.

This house is wonderful for one or two couples or a family with children, but is unsuitable for groups. Because of the upstairs open deck, it would not be a comfortable house for a family with babies or toddlers. We love the house but cannot use it full-time. It is available for parts of the year or year round on a part time basis.
