Smith Lake is located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and a short drive from Birmingham, Decatur, and Huntsville. It has been voted the 3rd cleanest and is one of the deepest lakes in the U.S. Its crystal clear waters, bordered in part by the Bankhead National Forest, cover more than 21,000 acres and 500 miles of shoreline.
It boasts five world records for fishing and is the host of several major fishing tournaments each year. If fishing?s not your thing, there are an abundance of other activities including swimming, boating, water skiing, jet skiing, tubing, canoeing, or just laying on the dock catching some rays.

We truly enjoyed our stay at this condo, when we arrived everything was very neat and clean although there were some stains on carpet and 2 broken rods one in den and towel rod in bath. There was a few scuffs on painted walls but other than that very nice. The view of the lake was spectacular from master bedroom and den. We had just purchased a new boat so was disappointed that the boat slip was not padded or cushioned around it. We could not get the dishwasher to wash properly but it could have been operator error. All in all we had a great stay. We had stayed 1 week prior at waterford condo at Big Bridge the unit layout is identical but waterford seems much more maintained on grounds and boat docks. We noticed lots of loose siding & cob webs around corridors and boat dock at Duncan Bridge condos. I just would like to make some suggestions of problem areas so maybe owners or managers might improve upkeep. We will return at some time because of our love of the lake in general. Thanks for having properties available for visitors use.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children.
