When I was a little girl, I wanted to live on this block. I count my blessings everyday that that dream came true! My family has loved living in Coronado since the 1920s! As Dorathy from the Wizard of Oz said..."There is no place like home..."
It has been the subject of an eight page feature in Better Homes and Gardens Home Plan Ideas magazine and a few commercial photo shoots.
Construction on this beautiful home was completed in 2001 and our architect was the amazing Dorathy Howard. She was so wonderful to work with and is incredibly talented at designing new homes that resemble historical landmarks!
It was built by Lorton Mitchell of "Lorton Mitchell Custom Homes", who has built some of the most amazing houses on Coronado island! He happens to be my wonderful big brother! Google him and you will get to peek into some FABULOUS Coronado properties on his website! The process of building this home with Lorton as the builder and Dorathy Howard as the architect was absolutely wonderful! Everything turned out better then we had expected and construction was completed right on time! My daughter Caroline was only 19 months old,and my son Ryan was a new born baby and Mama Belle was ready to NEST! The beautiful summer day we moved into this house was one of the happiest days of my whole life! We hope to live here for the rest of our lives.
This lovely old fashioned home has three fireplaces, five sets of eight-foot French doors, hardwood floors, custom cabinets, high ceilings and crown molding throughout. The kitchen is wonderful and has granite countertops, a huge cooking island and a 60 inch stove. Every morning, when I walk down the stairs, I still get such a thrill because I just LOVE my kitchen! It makes me so happy. It is just a great space for a serious cook who loves to entertain friends.
If you love roses then you will love it here. My roses went CRAZY this year. The wicker filled front porch is just the spot for your morning coffee and paper.
The basement party room is classic! We feel so lucky to have a full stage complete with drums, keyboard and guitars for anyone willing to try out on what we call "Coronado Idle!" There is a bar and disco ball with beautiful new mahogany floors for dancing! Imagine the FUN you and your family will have here in Coronado! There is also karoake for both adults and kids. We have some of the most adorable videos of our kids singing as toddlers. The basement also has a queen futon & full bath! It is a wonderful place to entertain guest! We love our outdoor fireplace on the back patio! Great place to relax after a long day at the beach! We invite you enjoy entertaining your friends here!
Our sweetheart of a home is located on the corner of Fifth and A Avenue, which is one of the prettiest tree lined streets in town. We are right in the middle of the beautiful old part of town. Three blocks to concerts in the park and two blocks to the Coronado Golf Course! We hope you have a wonderful time visiting our beautiful little island and wish you health and happiness along the way!

- Kid Friendly: Absolutely FANTASTIC for kids! Our precious kids are 7 and 9. We have a boy and a girl. The garage has been completely remodeled into a wonderful play room and art center. There is also a twin bed, small refrigerator and kitchen sink in there too. We have a wii fit, lots of bikes and toys. Beach chairs and bogie boards... Just bring your suitcase!
