The Unique Benefits at this Cottage

We really enjoy living in the shadow of the Lighthouse. The list of activities going on there is endless. Everything from Dark of the Moon tours to Stanley Steamer gatherings. We are Founding Light Members of the Lighthouse and Museum and our guests at the cottage are provided a free passes to enjoy the Lighthouse and Museum as our guest. We also enjoy and really take advantage of the Anastasia State Park with the Salt Run Lagoon, and the new Amphitheater. Our favorite beach is just a short walk along the Lagoon to the end where the sand dunes lead to the beach. The scenery, and bird life is world class, and the fishing is good too! We also enjoy a a walk to the Ancient City over the Bridge of Lions in the evenings. All in all the living is easy and good in St Augustine.

Owner's Map of St. Augustine

Peter and I discovered this cottage nestled in the woods in 2002. We learned that it was built by the last Lightkeeper ever stationed at the St Augustine Lighthouse. We loved the end of the road privacy and living in the shadow of the Lighthouse seems unbelievably romatic. Absolutely convinced that if peace on earth could be found we had found it. We bought it up and moved across the country to restore her and settle down to quiet small town living. We still enjoy many months of the year in St Augustine but also spend part of the year in California - earning a living. So until we retire once and for all we are happy to share our special cottage with visitors from all walks of life and from all over the world. The experience has been wonderful and we hope to share it with you! Peace on earth!

A good refuge for people and pets

Guest: Traveling past 50 (Richmond, VA/USA)

This cozy cottage was a great refuge when visiting friends for the holiday. I was able to bring my pets with me and enjoy the quiet setting while my pets had a safe, fenced in area to play. The cottage was clean and well kept. I enjoyed walking my pets in the neighborhood. My friends were very impressed by the location and the accommodations.

Our Cottage in Paradise

Guest: Liz (High Point, NC)
Date of Stay: 04/08/11 Review Submitted: 08/16/11

Thank you for such an awesome stay at Junie's Cottage! The cottage was cuter than even the pictures depicted, clean and cozy, but spacious as well. We love the wall of windows overlooking the private backyard from the living area. In the sunroom under the ceiling fan was the perfect place for eating lunch during the heat of the day, but dinner always took place al fresco on the patio overlooking the tropical paradise in the backyard. We had the pleasure of meeting Emili, the owner, who catered to our every need, including restaurant recommendations, although we decided to cook our own seafood in the well furnished cottage kitchen. The history surrounding St. Augustine is incredible and there is so much to see and do. Sights not to miss - St. Augustine Lighthouse, Castillo de San Marcos, the shops, waterfront and historical buildings and sites of Old Town St. Augustine. Another must do are the beaches of Mantanzas State Park. If you like to fish, try the pier at the marina across from the lighthouse, and the bridge spanning the inlet at the end of Mantanzas State Park (we got that information from a local fisherman)! We can't wait to visit again.

Memorable Stay by the Lighthouse

Guest: Kris (Momence, Il)
Date of Stay: 07/16/11 Review Submitted: 08/04/11

This place will always be part of my memories. The cottage is so nicely decorated and furnished to make guests very comfortable. My boyfriend rented this for our vacation because I love lighthouses and have never been to the top of one. On my first trip to the top he proposed. For this and many other reasons I will cherish my stay at the cottage. You could come in after a long day sightseeing and sink into the comfy couch or one of the chairs. It was very close to everything that we wanted to see and easy to get to and from. Great memories to be made here.

MY WIFE AND I STAYED AT JUNIES LIGHTHOUSE COTTAGE JUNE 11TH . IT WAS A GREAT CLEAN PLACE TO SET UP FOR THE WEEK. CLOSE TO EVERYTHING IN ST AUGUSTINE AND JUST A DAY TRIP TO SPACE COAST AND DAYTONA BEACH . FISHING I WALKED TO EACH MORNING AND WATCHED THE SUN COME UP OVER THE OCEAN AND OBSERVE THE LIGHTHOUSE LIGHT EARLY MORNING. I CAUGHT AND RELEASED SEVERAL FISH. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A COZY COOL PLACE THIS IS IT

Perfect Place in a Perfect Place to Visit!

Guest: chucksgym (Rochester, NY)
Date of Stay: 04/24/10 Review Submitted: 04/27/10

My family and i spent a wonderful week in Junie's Light Keeper's cottage Aprils 17th to 24th. The place was complete and had everything in place to make us comfortable. (The hammock was a great touch!) My children (15 & 16) rented bikes across from Ripley's for the week for $40 and they went everywhere they wanted with them. The nearby skate park (we got skateboarders) was free and really nice. I love to fish and greeted the sunrise daily on the lighthouse pier (free) and caught my share of bluefish, whiting, ocean catfish, spots and croakers. Air conditioned comfort made sleeping nice on the hot nights, and the breeze in the Florida room was well enjoyed. We were across the street from the Alligator farm, 2 miles from the public beach, and 10 miles from the National Seashore beaches at Matazanas, which became ourt favorite place to go, walk the beach, collect shells and surf fish the inlet at the south end of the park by the bridge. The kitchen was complete, with everything needed to cook in and save a few dollars. A short drive to the Super Walmart took care of our food needs. St. Augustine has so much to offer, things to do places to explore. I would recommend this vacation get-away to everyyone. I have rented several cottages in many locations (1000 Islands, Lake Ontario, Cape Cod) Beyond a doubt this was the best place we have ever been! Thank You Emily for everything! We hope to come back again someday!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Our stay in Junie's cottage was so wonderful (in spite of the cooler than usual weather) it was so cozy and clean. The location convenient and quiet, we come to St. Augustine every year and have stayed on the beach side and in the historic city, but this is by far the best spot in St. Augustine. I guess thats why they built the beautiful lighthouse there. We will be back.

We had a wonderful 1st wedding anniversary at Emili's cottage in St. Augustine! The cottage was charming and very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful with all the different plants & flowers. We loved staying within view of the lighthouse. It was so nice to be within walking distance of it and the pier. St. Augustine has a lot of things to do, and we did a lot! The cottage was equipped with all the amenities and it was nice to have some snacks & fresh flowers when we arrived! I wish we were there now! Jill is wonderful and available whenever you need her! We will definitely go back one day! We really did enjoy the week we spent there. If you want peace & quiet, yet be close to everything, this is the place for you! We can't wait to visit again! Thank you for all your hospitality, you really have a beautiful place!

We were so pleased with Junie's cottage. Staying so close to the lighthouse and being able to have some of our meals on the lovely patio. My husband of course loved being able to fish so close by. The peacefulness of our time there was meaningful. While we use to go to Daytona for our get aways, now it will be back to Junie's cottage. Everything was so neat and clean. See you again soon.
