Location: Ventenac-en-minervois, Languedoc-Roussillon, France, Europe (Ventenac en Minervois - 10 miles from Narbonne)
Accommodations: Home, 6 Bedrooms + Den, 5.5 Baths (Sleeps 16)
Chateau Ventenac sits majestically above the Canal du Midi, with panoramic views over the fields of the Minervois wine-growing region and to the hills of Corbieres and the Pyrenees beyond. There has been a chateau on this site for more than a thousand years.
The current house was built just over a hundred years ago and while it is equipped for all the luxuries of twenty-first century life the chateau and its beautiful grounds retains an elegant period charm. The English owners have recently restored part of this 19th century stone castle to create a comfortable family home.
The house will comfortably accommodate 14 adults (plus 2 small children) in 6 bedrooms with 5 bathrooms .
This part of the Minervois wine growing area is close to fabulous beaches and is ideally situated for exploratory trips to the historic towns and villages of the Languedoc. While there are plenty of local attractions the auto route is only 15 minutes away, making it easy to take more adventurous day trips.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2004
We bought Chateau Ventenac in 2004 and it was a bit of a wreck in need of much love. We spent 2 years renovating it and it is now a really comfortable second home. I run the rental business myself as I think it is very important for our visitors to have a personal experience. Ispend about 5 months of the year in France and just love this part of the world.
