Everything was great except the bed was pretty hard. Maybe a memory foam topper from Costco would make it a perfect stay.

A darling condo in a very nice small 2 story complex. All units all face towards the ocean in a U shape with a grassy walkway and small pool area. A few more steps and you can sit on the great deck that sits on rocks above the ocean. I have enjoyed big resorts in my life, but I also enjoy reading lots of books in a week...and this was what I did! This 1 bedroom was nicely furnished, with a very nice complete kitchen which we used more then we thought we would. It was just so nice to eat outside on the lanai and watch the sunset.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights recently and were pleased with the condo. Clean, comfortable, lots of amenities provided (snorkel masks and tubes, didn't see any flippers; plenty of clean towels; boogie board, beach umbrella, etc. 2011 Maui Revealed guidebook too, nice!). Decent access to the beach. Unfortunately, there were torrential rain storms most of our stay! High surf and heavy rain kept us from enjoying the beach (very rocky, maybe more sand without the waves pounding relentlessly, and possibly decent snorkeling right there if calm?) or the party deck. The pool was nice and warm though! My only major complaint would be lack of privacy. This is a ground floor unit, so you have to be ok with people walking out in front. You could close the drapes but then you cut off the ocean view! The slatted windows in the bedroom let in noise from the parking lot side of the unit and the walls between units are not insulated/soundproofed. So hopefully your next door neighbor doesn't make loud, annoying, repetitive noises. Ours did not:) We are relatively private people so I don't think this will be a major issue for most people. All in all a good value. Easy in, easy out. Good community vibe from the other renters/residents. Even in the rain people were kicking it on the party deck!

Poly Shores has been our favorite for over 20 years! This is our second January in this unit and we intend to return in 2013. We watched whales and dolphins from the lanai and saw turtles from the shore. The unit is as described and far better than what we had in the past. Two flat screen TV. Some units have only one of the old type. Our only downside for the property, not this unit, was parents had children out of school which was louder than in the past

We absolutely loved our stay in Kanapaali and were very pleased with this condo. We visited with our 15 month old daughter so it was great to have such a well-equipped kitchen and to be so close to the ocean. Every morning we went to see the turtles swimming in the water. What a joy to be able to walk just 50 feet and be at the ocean! In the afternoon, the same turtles were sunbathing on the beach close by. What I liked best is the condo was exactly what we expected and maybe even better than we expected. Our daughter enjoyed the swimming pool, too, as did we, though the water was slightly cold as the heater was apparently broken. The only down-side of our stay was that some branches from the bush outside our condo were left on the ground after the bush was trimmed, and my husband stepped on one and ended up with a bad cut, so it's not necessarily the best idea to walk barefoot on the grass outside the condo. I would absolutely recommend this property to friends and relatives - it's clean, tastefully decorated, private and a pleasant place to be. The farmer's market just down the street from the condo is great and we enjoyed Kimo's restaurant in Lahaina, which was recommended by the condo owners. There are many, many activities to do on Maui, and the owners of the condo give you a great list of suggestions.

Thanks so much for sharing your condo with us! We found that the condo was very clean, well equipped with everything we needed (including beach chairs and a cooler!) and located very close to many beaches, restaurants and shops. The tiki terrace offered the best sunset views in Maui, and the small private beach was a great spot for turtle watching! The grounds of the complex were pristine and the complex itself very quiet and peaceful. If you want to venture out, Amy and Scott provided great dining and activity recommendations. We enjoyed our stay very much at Hale Luana Maui!

This condo is amazing! Clean with a beautiful and very well equip kitchen, GREAT sunset, good BBQ area in front a the ocean. There's a small reef beach, swimming with the turtles was a amazing experience and our kids had a great time with the tide pools. We also like the facts that a cooler, an ice-pack, bodyboards and masks were available yo use, as travelers it's something always handy. Don't miss the farmer's market 3x/weeks it's a great place for local produces. We had a very good time in Maui and this condo was a part of it.

I swam every morning before breakfast on the private beach. We enjoyed waking up looking out to see. We were perfectly placed to go out during the day and at night and had no shortage of things to do: Sailing to Lanai, Ziplining, Driving around the Island, (Mama's Fish house!), visiting the resorts - where we found out how much better we had it in this fantastic condo. Bbq fans will be very happy with the high quality webber bbqs on the deck that sits out over the sea. Getting here from Europe, via LA, was easy and Scott & Amy's instructions are spot on. Book it and relax! Thanks very much Patrick and Clara!

The property was clean, and well equipped. The views were perfect!. We really enjoyed sitting on the common deck and watching the sea turtles and sunsets. We used the common gas grill area which was great. Ate outside when we did eat at the condo. Close to lots of activities! If we had even one complaint it would be the air conditioner in the bedroom. While we appreciated having it- it was just a little noisy. But well worth the cost and a VERY good deal!. It made our 35th wedding anniversary special. Plus with all the things to do on Maui you will not be in the condo much! But when you are it is just right!

What a place!!! We will be calling Scott and Amy for sure to book next year. They made it so simple. The condo was spotless, ocean view was perfect, the BBQ deck over the water was the place to hang out and watch turtles. The private sandy beach was beautiful. We did spend most of the days floating in the pool though. The kitchen was stocked full of everything we needed. Twice we had all of our friends over for dinner parties. Everyone was jealous of our condo, especially the ocean view and luxurious kitchen. There where 6 families going to Maui, we had our 8 year old son, and we were all in different condo's at different resorts. Our best friends were at the Whaler which was ok but hard to get to, and was twice the price. We by far had the nicest condo. Even the people staying next door looked in and could not believe the difference in condos. Our was very updated and nice. Tips: The farmers market down the street was a great place to get fruits and vegetables. Stopping at Costco was a great way to prepare for the week. A great place for our son to run around with tons of grassy areas and hunt for crabs around the beach rocks. Overall a great trip to Maui, A perfect place to stay, and the weather was great. We would recommend this place to anyone. Downsides: There is only one smoking area in the entire resort area. Only a few guest parking spots, we had our reserved parking but our friends did not have parking close by.
Owner response:Thanks so much for the nice comments.

Not much to say other than we had an excellent time. The price was fair and renting a condo was much better than dealing with a hotel. Here are the positives: -We loved cooking in the nice kitchen. Saved so much money and time not having to eat out. And easier to eat healthy. -The turtles there we unbelievable! They came right up to the beach and were huge! We would definitely recommend this to anyone. -Good layout. Felt like home. -Nice pool. Spent more time here than the beach. -Nice neighbors. Some live there and are friendly, helpful, and QUIET!! which was very nice and relaxing. This is not a party condo. Geared for older people and honeymooners for sure. Here are a few things we would have liked improved on: -I would have liked to had a cleaner come in midway or had cleaning supplies like a vacuum or whatnot but that's just me being picky. 15 days was a long time with no cleaning. -Maybe another picky thing was were were not in Lahaina city we were in Lahaina district or something like that. All that means is you are about a 15 minute drive away. I guess we were confused by that and would have liked to have been a bit closer. -Only has a bedroom air conditioner and its kinda bulky and loud. There were nights when we had to sleep naked because it would not cool the room very well.
Owner response:We are located 5 miles north of Lahina town in the resort area of Kaanapali Beach. We do advertise that we are in Kaanapali not Lahaina. Actually most people prefer the Kaanapali area due to the nice beaches, golf, 5 star restaurants and resorts. In our rental agreement that all guests read and sign before booking we state that for an additional $40 maid service is available from the professional cleaning company. We do recommend it for stays longer than 2 weeks. There is a great laundry facility in the resort if you ever need to wash anything. As for the air conditioning, it is a luxury to have one at all, but summer in Hawaii it is a bit warmer that some people might expect.

We booked Hale Luana Maui for our wedding, reception, and honeymoon, and the whole experience was amazing. The condo is clean, beautifully decorated, and the kitchen is well- stocked. The grounds of the condo are gorgeous, with Plumeria trees and Orchids everywhere. There was a set of stairs and a rocky cliff that worked perfectly to hold our wedding ceremony, and the grounds were perfect for our small reception. We enjoyed an outdoor meal and our guests loved the sunset, the Tiki Terrace, and the small private beach. The condo complex is quiet, clean, and the staff is very friendly. We have already booked Hale Luana Maui for our 1 year anniversary!

We loved this condo for our 25th wedding anniversary. We stayed for a week and enjoyed every day. The condo is nicely located close to Lahaina, Kaanapali, Napili and Kapulua beaches and has its own private beach too. The amenities were great. Recommended activities and dining were provided. These recommendations were invaluable. We highly recommend this condo for your Maui vacation!

I highly recommend Hale Luana. As an owner of rental property I can be vey critical, but I can only say all good things about this condo. From the moment we walked in the door we were very pleased. The decor is very tasteful and everything was spotless. The kitchen is fully equipped - there is not a thing you could possibly need. The furniture was very comfortable. Scott and Amy were wonderful to work with, and provided us with all the necessities, from Hawaiian music to beach chairs and coolers. We saw some lovely sunsets from our unit. We would definitely stay at Hale Luana again.
