This inviting ground floor unit is on the sunny, private, wind-protected south side of building, away from foot traffic, street and pool noise. Nice landscaping and partial view of the ocean from the lanai, easy access to your vehicle. Direct entry to the unit, no stairs or elevator, yet the location feels private and out of the way.
Terrific location for the complex, centrally located between Lahaina, Wailea and Kahului airport. Azeka shopping area is close by for restaurants, shopping and sports stores.
The complex at Kauhale Makai offers a swimming pool, spa pool, kiddie pool, picnic area with gas-grill-BBQs, convenient and clean laundry facilities. It also has a putting green, volleyball court and shuffleboard. Tennis courts are next door to the complex. Great windsurfing is right off the beach from the complex. The lobby staff is helpful, and there is a night security staff.
The updated kitchen is fully equipped. The bathroom is finished with Italian porcelain tile and all new fixtures. The bedroom has a high quality king-size bed, large TV, and a peaceful, romantic ambience. The living room’s queen-size sleeper sofa sleeps 2 comfortably. Watch the ocean, have breakfast or dinner on the lanai, stroll to the beach to watch the sun set over the Pacific.
Sorry, no pets are allowed in the complex. This unit including the lanai is non-smoking. All public areas and all lanais in the building are now also non-smoking.

Owner Description
My husband Mac and I love Maui for its relaxation, snorkeling, diving, biking and numerous tropical sights. We chose Kihei for its low-key, relaxed atmosphere and fantastic centrally located beaches. We live in and love the Pacific Northwest near Seattle, but the dark winters here make us appreciate the sun and loveliness of Maui even more.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
Our condo is ground level, so we come and go conveniently, with NO steps, stairs or elevators to slow us down. Our condo is on the sunnier side of the complex, but with enough shade on the lanai to protect the interior from the hot summer sun. Since the beach view is limited, we this encourages us to go out to the beach at sunset, a great daily ritual. Kihei's great swimming beaches are only 5-15 minutes away. The beach at Kauhale Makai is best for kite- and windsurfing and gorgeous sunset walks.

Very nice place! Clean and quiet and right by a great beach. We thought it was perfect to travel to all sides of the island and close to the airport. The owner was very accommodating when our traveling time became a bit of a nightmare, she helped us out a lot and saved our vacation. The bed was comfy and the living area has a great view, plus the plumeria trees smell wonderful! Thanks for a great stay! I'd say one thing we did wrong and that was not staying long enough.

What a wonderful condo! The description is accurate, the value, parking and access are great. The owner is very easy to work with. The ocean view from the lanai got better while we were there because the property next door trimmed their trees and removed quite a bit of brush. The bed is quite comfortable. The pool area is clean and not crowded. The shower outside the pool area was great for rinsing our feet after walking the beach. The laundry room was clean and very easy to get to even though its on the 2nd floor. An excellent central location for exploring the island, which we spent a lot of time doing. Dress very warm if you go to Haleakawa for the beautiful sunrise. For some awesome views, hike part of the Sliding Sands Trail which starts at the upper visitor center parking lot. We definitely recommend this condo and hope to reserve it for a few weeks in October.

This property was very clean and well maintained. Parking was included and very handy especially if you're beach bums as we are. Your car is only steps away meaning you're only steps away from every beach and there are many.This landlord is very up front and honest. We've rented at many different resorts and honesty is most important to us.You won't find a better value. We have reserved this unit for our 2012 vacation.

I highly recommend this unit. It has certainly been a pleasure to deal with the owner. I like the property as Kauhale Makai's location on Maui is excellent. I found this central-air unit on-line and had the opportunity to visit this particular unit before I stayed in it. The description is accurate and the on-line pictures do accurately reflect the unit's appearance and its ammenities. The unit has recently been updated and renovated. You will find it to be modern, quite comfortable, nice and bright, very clean, well maintained and all throughout it is well apportioned. The furnishings are in good taste, the beautiful bathroom has been redone and it is quite functional. The kitchen is also well equipped. The amenities include an iPod connection and free internet access using a secure wireless connection. This unit has plenty of storage space available for guests to use. This is an awesome ground-floor unit that does not have a full view of the ocean but you can still peek at the ocean from the lanai. Your designated parking spot is only steps away from the lanai.

April 2009 - very much enjoyed our stay in this clean, well maintained and nicely decorated unit. The pictures on this site really do accurately show what the unit is like. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, and there were lots of extras for beach trips: beach towels, boogie boards, lawn chairs, even snorkel gear. It truly was a home away from home. We never did check out the pools or BBQs so can't comment on those, and there wasn't much to see from the lanai but we weren't interested in spending much time on the lanai anyway. The parking was very close to the unit, and being ground floor, would be ideal for anyone with mobility issues or small kids. The owner was wonderfully pleasant and accommodating, and the unit is conveniently located close to many shops and services, including Safeway, restaurants, drug store, etc. The complex itself is very quiet - we'd stay here again!
