The cablin was exactly as shown. The location was perfect for us, Mueller Park was just down the highway and is a tremendous place to visit. The trip to Cripple Creek was quick and easy. The furnishings in the cabin were clean and comfortable, every on the list was there. We grilled on the deck each evening and ate while enjoying the view and the quiet. We saw wildlife each day. If we needed anything it was only 15 minutes to Woodlands Park. The payment process went very smoothly and any questions I sent were answered quickly. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and at almost 9,000 feet the cool evenings were a welcome bonus! This cabin is perfect size for a family with children. It was also easy to find. We hope to visit again next summer!

There are some good things I can say about the cabin. The location, the view, the kitchen and bathroom were clean and the bed linens were all clean. As for the rest of the cabin...it had about an inch of dust all over everything. The place had dog or cat hair all over everything. Being an animal lover and owner, we found this still to be quite bad. We had to vacuum it off the couch and still put sheets on the couch just to feel comfortable sitting on it. This animal hair and dust caused the three of us to have horrible allergies anytime we were in the cabin. The recliner in the living room was broken and unable to be used. The bedroom carpets were filthy and stained. The septic tank must have been backed up, because anytime we went outside there was a very strong odor. I would not recommend taking small children since the outside had dangerous tools (saw blades, hatchets, nails, etc) all over the yard...as well as a broken down and busted up hot tub. Luckily we really only came to the cabin to sleep, otherwise we probably would have asked for a refund and gone somewhere else. This would be ok if you planning only sleeping here.

During our 4 month stay in Colorado we wanted to be in the mountains, have a view, while being close enough to the modern conveniences we're used to. This cabin delivered on all three points. It's the perfect size for 2-4 people but you could push it to 6 if you use the convertible bed. The view from the front deck looks out over the backside of Pikes Peak. It's in a nice neighborhood close to Mueller State Park, Dome Rock, the Pancake Rock Trail, and a lot of other hiking areas. It's only 10 minutes from Divide, 10 minutes from Cripple Creek, 15 minutes from Woodland Park, 45 minutes to Colorado Springs, and you're just far enough off of Highway 67 so you don't hear any noise. Ski areas are within 1.5-2 hours (Monarch Mountain, Breckenridge) and there are plenty of restaurants nearby in both Divide and Woodland Park. The owner was unintrusive while still being helpful in answering any questions or resolving any issues we had while we were there. The cabin itself is well-equipped with satellite television, wireless high-speed internet and a phone in case you don't get great cell reception in the area (Verizon seems to do okay but having the phone there is beneficial just in case). We would definitely recommend giving this cabin a try if you want a true mountain living experience and not the cookie-cutter resort / lodge / corporate housing experience.

If you would like to share a college dorm room with a freshman BOY, rent this cabin!! Not only was it NOT as it was represented, we had to CLEAN the floor just to walk on it. The fridge/freezer was FULL of food, so that ours didn't even fit in. VALUE????? NO!!! The yard was littered with STUFF and the porch futon was broken and couldn't be used. The smell from the septic tank made the outside area UNUSABLE. His other positive reviews must be coming from friends. JUST A WARNING. Worst part of our vacation. We would NEVER be back, ever!!

We arrived at the rental well after check-in to find that not only had it not been cleaned since the previous renters, but that it was very poorly maintained compared to the pictures. The yard was littered with old tools and wood scraps and looked more like a lived in cabin than a tidy, inviting vacation rental. The inside was also cluttered and unorganized compared to the pictures on the VRBO site. We were unable to stay in this location due to the poor condition of the property but reviewed the rooms and property while waiting for resolution. The owner did not sound particularly surprised to find that it had not been cleaned (dirty sheets piled in the hall, towels on the bathroom floor, kitchen counter dirty, books scattered about. . .) and asked, "What would you like me to do?" After about 45 minutes waiting (toddler in car) to hear back from him we decided that we would not be staying and began to make other arrangements. He was unable at this point to find anyone to clean the place and it would take at least 2-3 hours once someone was found, and it was already late afternoon. He did refund our money on Paypal as promised, but we were still left scrambling, last minute to find a place to stay on our few days of vacation.
Owner response:Unfortunately we had a cleaning person who did not show up for the rental at the time. I was on a business trip at the time of this rental and unable to make it there to it myself. The 45 minutes she was waiting I was on the phone desperately calling everyone I know that is close by to the area who would be able to get to the house to clean it. I now call the cleaning person the night before to double check our schedule. I called the renter back as soon as I had a solution. When I asked the renter "What would you like me to do?" I had given several options to resolve the situation and I was looking for a resolution. I was able to find a replacement but by that time the renter did not want to stay I gave her several recommendations and phone #'s of folks I know who have good rentals who could accommodate her but she did not want to use those. I apologized as much as I could for her inconvenience and refunded her money within the hour. I am in love with rainbow valley house and the area I rent the house out so others can it enjoy it's beauty. It saddens me that I had someone who did not enjoy the property This is the first negative review I have ever had and anytime a person gives you a negative review a person has to look at themselves and their business and decide what they can do to improve themselves or their business. This winter I painted the entire interior of house and refinished the deck. I also stained outside of the house. We do provide wood for the wood stove on the property too some this might look bad but a wood pile is a wood pile. There is also a couple of downed trees on the property but they are far from the house and that is part of the natural beauty of the forest. We do change the decor a little bit every winter and add new things or remove others. We have since removed 1 or 2 pieces of furniture to uncluttered the house. I have been renting the house out for 4 years and this is the first negative response. I will continue to strive so this never happens again.

We stayed in this wonderful cabin at the end of July 2010. The cabin was wonderful and a great size for any family or small group. Our party had 5 adults and we were very comfortable in this lovely cabin. The views and visiting wildlife (deer, raccoons, bear, hummingbirds, ground squirrells and chipmunks) made the trip one to remember. Divide was a great little town with just the right amount of amenities. We highly recommend visiting Victor, Co- great antiques and mining history.

We rented the cabin for a weekend while our parents were in from the East Coast. We love the Cripple Creek area and wanted to share this special place with them. The cabin was a great deal for the size and location. Night sky view were spectacular! The ammenities were plentiful and the cabin was spacious.

We stayed in this cute little cabin for six days in June of 2008. It truly had everything we could ever need, including internet access! This cabin is secluded, yet only a 20 minute drive to tourist attractions in Cripple Creek and Woodland Park. I highly recommend this location for anyone seeking a comfy, well stocked cabin with the creature comforts of home!

a most wonderfull stay, Very quiet and relaxing, Coffe on the deck watching the sun come up over pikes peak was inspiring. Grilling steaks over the b-b-q grill and a wonderfull clean well decorated cabin was just outstanding. I would very highly reccomend this cabin to someone who enjoys tranquility, relaxation & Gods own beauty.
