Our Family Vacation

Guest: Mary Ann (Union KY)
Date of Stay: 05/05/12 Review Submitted: 05/17/12

Our stay in Seabrook last week was truly wonderful. We had great weather and great family time. The resort was beautiful with plenty of wildlife to watch. Deer were grazing in our yard nightly and one full day we saw 2 alligators sunning by the pond across from us on the 18th green. The beaches were clean and lots of walking. I recommend the North Beach area. Tall sand doons and much wider beach area. Our granddogs have never been on a beach and they loved it. Our loft was very clean and comfortable. We slept great and ate great grilling out and eating out. Really liked the Italian restaurant and Red House (I think that's the name). Charleston was just about a 40 minute drive and we went there twice. Beautiful city! Thanks Sue and family for a wonderfully relaxing stay. Would love to go back some day.

Cockroaches

Guest: mandy (maine)
Date of Stay: 04/14/12 Review Submitted: 04/22/12

Not happy with the cockroaches. Contacted both the resort management company and owners of the problem. Resort management company informed us that the "roaches are more active after spraying....which they did the day before"... So the company knew this condo had roach problems. The owners stated that they did not know they had roaches residing in their condo. We have rented through VRBO several years and never had this problem. Very disappointing.

Owner response:This was an unfortunate situation. An e-mail I received from the guests states they saw "several" which is still unaccep- table. Our management company was being proactive in the spraying of our villa. In the South homes are sprayed on a quarterly basis. In addition, our management company was out the next day to wipe down the counters and rewash the floors which was requested by the guest. They are there to respond to all issues that may arise. We take pride in having the best villa for our guests to enjoy. Take a look at the previous reviews which speak for themselves.

This villa is located in a quiet area of the island. We were attracted by the lovely view and access to amenities. The kitchen is well stocked and the decor is pleasing. Very happy with our stay.

Spinnaker Review

Guest: Mickey (Villanova, PA)
Date of Stay: 11/06/11 Review Submitted: 12/09/11

Sue has decorated a villa that invites folks to relax in comfort with all the necessities for a great beach week/weekend. The locations is perfect; one can merely cross the road and after a short walk between the dunes be at the beach. Of course the new clubhouse dining and all the Seabrook ammenities make for a vacation Paradise! The villa is as described and was excellently maintained.

Snow bird from the Midwest

Guest: Dean (East Peoria, Illinois)
Date of Stay: 12/30/10 Review Submitted: 04/09/11

Spent a great three months in this very attractive rental. Not a golfer, but found plenty to do - I spent time walking the beach getting both exercise, fresh air, and sea shells. The dolphins put on shows to match the great sun sets. Enjoyed the alligators that sunned themselves on the bank of the lagoon - interesting to watch the golfers as they teed off and kept an eye on the gators. Had deer feeding just outside the condo almost constantly and over a dozen eagles soaring overhead one afternoon. My major draws were the trips into Charleston to just walk the streets and take in the beauty of this city, check out the Market (pick up your Sweetgrass Basket there), drive over Ravnel Bridge to the aircraft carrier Yorktown and Sullivan's Island. Took both a Harbor Tour and a Carriage Tour - I recommend both. Enjoyed the Locklear restaurant on Folly Pier, Ladles in the Village, and Red's Ice House at Bohicket Marina - all multiple visits. Southend Brew Pub and Sticky Fingers in Charleston work well for lunch to round out your tours. If you like bagels check out one of the two Bruegers in Charleston. I found the condo equiped and as comfortable as described - truly turned out to be my home away from home. A quiet setting with easy walking access to the beach. Bring your bike as there were numerous riders especially as the weather warmed. Ride Seabrook Island or ride into Freshfields Village where there are restaurants and grocery or take off toward Kiawah and enjoy the marsh views. There are bike paths from Seabrook to Kiawah which makes the ride most comfortable as you're not sharing the road with autos. Seabrook Island is very bike friendly when using the streets. For the occasional maintenance need the local rental manager's response was quick and efficient - only a phone call away. I would recommend this condo to anyone looking for a great winter location - no snow to shovel (had one day with ice - all bridges into Charleston were closed for about 4 hours - not a common occurrance as I was told by the "natives"). March had a number of days at 80 degrees or above. The advantage with the location of the condo is the sea breeze which keeps the temps lower than Charleston - never needed airconditioning and the furnace kept me very comfortable during the cool days of January and February. The Arentsens were extremely helpful, especially with my request to start the rental two days early. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as I did mine!!!

Month at Condo

Guest: Kay Wilhelm (Dublin, Ohio)
Date of Stay: 11/01/10 Review Submitted: 11/29/10

The condo is located in a perfect spot; overlooking the 18th tee and a lagoon where two alligators loved to sun themselves by the "Do not feed" sign. Well appointed kitchen (even had roaster for our Thanksgiving turkey) and WiFi access throughout. Easy access to the beach and golf courses, club houses, marina, etc. My dog loved our walks along moss-lined live oak streets. I loved it so much I extended my stay by two days. Sue was an extremely hospitable hostess and communicates with timely emails. Will visit again and stay at this very private home.

What a lovely island and condo. The accomodations were great but the dryer didn't work so we hung out our clothes to dry. Was too late to get it fixed but it worked out. WOW the spiders there are scary. Nobody's fault but we carefully stepped onto the porch!

Owner response:The dryer was repaired the next day. Things like the dryer not working is one of the things that can always happen, just like at home. Thats why a a management company thats located on the island is so important. Our management company is there 24/7 for you. The spiders are on the island only a few months of the year, they are harmless and keep the small insects at bay.

Several friends got together for a great week in Seabrook - this townhouse was the perfect spot to stay. Our dogs loved it too. It was close to the beach and pool but still very secluded. We would definitely stay here again!

This villa is especially well accomodated, even including the George Foreman grill! The decorations and furnishings are tasteful and beds firm and comfortable. We enjoyed the amenities of the resort, and the new golf club and beach club are impressive! We hope to be back same time next year!

Alligator At Tee

Guest: Larry$ (Davidson, NC )
Date of Stay: 11/09/08 Review Submitted: 11/26/08

I found the apartment bright, comfortable, and well-maintained. The kitchen was very well equipped. Everything seemed to be in working order and the area was quiet. My only complaint was that I didn't have cell phone service. I did at the area around the welcome center and the super market but not at the apartment. Might have been my service. We enjoyed watching the gator sunning itself from our window.
