There is a private, covered, outdoor hot tub to relax in after a fun-filled day in the mountains. The most outstanding amenity is the awesome mountain views (refer to photo # 11 as an example which displays the structure known as "La Ventana Espanol" - The Spanish Window), which appears to be only a small slit in the distant mountain, but is in fact a vertical drop of over a thousand feet.
Pagosa Springs is a mountain community in Southwest Colorado, offering 320 days of sunshine a year, beautiful scenery including mountains, lakes and waterfalls, lots of outdoor recreation, winter sports and much more.
There is much to do to keep busy. The TREE HOUSE is located just a short walk away from a pristine lake stocked with trout and bass. When you are finished soaking in the on-site hot tub, you can try the famous hot springs in Pagosa. An abundance of outdoor activities make Pagosa Springs a nature lover's paradise. From the huge deck, there is a greater than 180' view of mountains, and a telescope (with stand) is provided for better viewing.
River fishing is available in town on the San Juan River. The quality waters of the San Juan below Navajo Lake is world renowned for the incredible trout fly fishing. Trophy hunting is available in the San Juans. Wolf Creek Ski area boasts the most snow in Colorado, with an average of over 600 inches per year!
Come play in the mountains and stay in the middle of it all in Pagosa Springs. The Wolf Creek Ski Area is about 20 miles away and the main roads are always kept clean. This ski area gets more snow than any other ski area in Colorado, on average. You will not want to leave!

Beautiful Pagosa Springs CO Vacation!
VRBO Bear stayed here - 08/16/2011
I had a wonderful time in this vacation home in Pagosa Springs with friends and family. The house, aptly called the "tree-house," was on two levels and each morning I awoke to breathtaking views of the trees and mountains and could listen to the myriad of birds just outside the windows. The hummingbirds were spectacular to watch as they were coaxed to the porch by two well-positioned feeders.
It was a real treat for me to witness a double rainbow during my stay and enjoyed the refreshing mountain air I grew up on. Here I could completely relax. I especially liked being able to explore in the garden with the cubs and also visit the fishing lake which was only a 2 minute drive from the house.
What a comfortable stay I had with my family in this spacious home. The young ones could watch TV in the playroom while the adults ate dinner around the dining table. Breakfasts were fun for the kids as they sat at the bar counter and were served from a spacious and well stocked kitchen. There were more than enough beds for everyone and even a pack and play for the littlest sibling. The hot tub was an added bonus and was enjoyed by all ages.
One day we took the steam train from Durango to Silverton up the mountain pass and were thrilled to see the river and awesome scenery. The whole family had fun going down the river on tubes near the hot springs only 10 minutes from the house and finished off that day with an ice cream from a restaurant that came recommended by the owner. There were other useful tips about where to go and what to see that helped us make the most of our time in Pagosa Springs.
The owner and his property management company were professional and friendly and made the stay extremely easy, enjoyable and memorable. I’m already longing for the mountains again and the view from the wraparound porch...

Owner's Map of Pagosa Springs
We finally reached a point where we were able to afford a nice Colorado home about 12 years ago, at which time we purchased our Ouray, Colorado home. In 2006, we purchased our Pagosa Springs, Colorado home. We were very selective in purchasing all of our vacation rental homes, and because of that, we own two very nice, and unique homes in the mountains, and one beach home in Port Aransas, Texas...

We loved our stay at the "Tree House" in Pagosa Springs. Everything was as promised and more. We were actually surprised at how well maintained the property was and how it was equipped with everything that we needed. The location was great and we loved going to the hot springs where they had pools with many choices of temperatures - you'll love that. Try the Malt shop for an ice cream - order the big one. We loved our stay in Pagosa Springs and recommend this property. I'm sure that we will be back and will choose the "Tree House" when we do because we know we will not be disappointed..
Owner response:Thanks for your review. We would love to have you return for a future visit. We plan to make more changes next year to make our house even nicer.

We have wanted to visit Pagosa Springs for several years & finally made it with a week's stay in the Tree House. The house is fabulous. Very spacious with lots of room for family & pets. We were on a graduation trip for our son who invited several of his buddies along. With 8 young adults the downstairs in the house was perfect for their privacy & entertainment. We all found plenty to do with hiking, lakes, fishing, the hot springs and the bonus of a hot tub right at the house. Our other family members, 3 Cairn Terriers, loved being able to travel with us & enjoy the fenced portion of the property which gave them plenty of room to run. The kitchen in the Tree House is exceptionally well stocked. Appliances & tools galore so that you don't have to haul a bunch of your own favorites. The Tree House and Pagosa Springs are a great combination for singles, families & any mix of people & activities. We plan to go back!
Owner response:Hi Tracy, Thanks for you great review. We try to upgrade our home each year so that when we return every May, it is better than the year before. It pleases us that people have had such nice things to say about our house, and makes us realize that we are doing the right things. Hope to see you in 2012...

This was one of the best vacation places I have stayed with my dogs. I have a malamute/husky and greyhound/husky mix -- with the fenced in section, i was very comfortable letting my dogs go outside without constantly being on a leash. The house is located in a wonderful area for walking the dogs without a huge climbs. The house was very clean and well maintained and with the big sinks in the downstairs, was able to wash my dogs when needed. There was enough space in the downstairs that could keep the dogs in a separate area during inclement weather without being in the way or confined to small area. It was worth the long car ride from Clemson, SC. I can't wait to go again.
Owner response:Hi Kevin, Our house being pet friendly generates lots of interest. We have made our house pet friendly because we feel that pets are a very important part of families, and to be denied have that part of your family to be present just doesn't seem right. I hope you will come again...

Hello, My family & I were looking for a place to stay away from the hustle & bustle of a large city where there was peace, quiet & beautiful scenery --- we found it here in Pagosa in the Tree house. It has several large rooms to spread out so everyone can have "their own space" and at the same time have some quality family time together. The house was clean & fresh smelling (as in aired out). My daugher's husky loved running around in the fenced area & resting on the porch. My husband loved the grill they had so much that when we got back home, he had to buy one & thanks to the owner's advice - he found it at a reasonable price online. We loved the river rafting on the river in town & the hot spas. The hot tub was great for relaxing in after the long long drive (we drove from Atlanta 26hr) and every night until we left. I would recommend this place to anyone or any groups that want to get away & yet be close (town is not far). There is just so much to see & do in the area, that we didn't have time because we just enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the birds & looking at the view. We will definitely return as soon as possible. Love it, love it, love it.
Owner response:Hi Patti, We have, once again, added some new items to our house in order to make it even nicer. Thanks for your kind words, and please come see us again...

We stayed at the Tree House for a week in July with other family members and friends, and it was a very enjoyable stay. There were plenty of enclosed rooms for privacy, but other open spaces when we wanted to all be together. We especially enjoyed the spacious deck, where we could enjoy the panoramic views of the mountains and the antics of the wildlife and birds rather close up. We enjoyed fishing in nearby Echo Lake and hiking the trails out from Pagosa. And after a day of exercise, we enjoyed soaking in the hot tub, swapping stories about our day's activities. It was a very relaxing and stress-free vacation.
Owner response:Hi Martha, We also enjoy relaxing on the deck, where our family can watch the territorial ways of the hummingbirds. Thanks for your visit, and I hope that you will come again.

My family enjoyed the space and we have recommended it to friends. We could all find our own corner inside or out on the deck, and get away from each other for some peace and quiet. The house is very private and a good distance from other homes. The rental rate was reasonable especially when spread among other families. The hot springs in town are great after a day of hiking.
Owner response:Hi Paul... Thanks for your great review. We really appreciate you being a return renter.

We just stayed here, and had a wonderful time. Everything seemed well kept, and we had no problems with excessive ice or snow.......it is Colorado after all......we expected to tread carefully on slick walkways. It's also not far from Wolf Creek, which we love skiing because it gets so much snow every year. Check out the hot springs in Pagosa while you are there.....well worth the visit. We'll be back!!
Owner response:Hi Michelle, I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay in our house. We look forward to your return.

We had a great time here! Very spacious and our family was very happy that it was pet friendly and most importantly pet "safe". Very private and we really enjoyed the local fishing. I will definately come back and stay here for a much needed R&R. Thanks so much for opening up this beautiful home to my family!
Owner response:Thanks Patrick, your kind words are appreciated. I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed the fishing at Echo Lake, which is just a short walk away. Hope to see you again soon...
