My sister and I rented this house for 5 days during the summer of '08 for my parent's surprise 35th anniversary party. When we were younger my family and our friends used to take trips during the summer in the mountains in NY. It had been a long time since we had all gotten together and my sister and I thought this would be perfect. There were about 20 adults and 2 kids and plenty of room to spare. The house had a great set up. Set back in the woods with a great view and lots of space to run around and play lots of games or even just lay out and chill. It was great because we were up late singing, playing music, and laughing like old times without worrying about the neighbors. During the day we would go out to local attractions or the river. There was so much to do and not enough time. Everyone had a great time and all of our family and friends that drove up 6 hours from NJ/NY said they would do it again. I recommend this rental to anyone who needs a house for a large group or reunion. The price is very reasonable for what you get. I hope that my family and friends will make a tradition out of this and hopefully return. I know we made memories for a lifetime!

Absolutely wonderful!! We had an annual retreat for a group of over 30 women from early 20's to almost 90 in age. This house met everyone's needs. There is so much space and the atmosphere was very relaxed. There was plenty of space to accomplish our meetings (held in the large game room) and to seat everyone in the dining room. The bedrooms are large and nicely decorated with antiques. The view of Mount Washington from the living room window seat is spectacular. The owners obviously love this home and it shows in the details. Many of the bathrooms have been updated and there was never any worry about enough hot water. Our group is definitely looking forward to next year. This was our 5th annual retreat and this house was the best one we have used. The owners were very easy to work with and very accommodating. Edith is very professional and quick to respond to emails. The caretaker was a good sport (by judging a hat decorating contest) and was there everyday to take out the trash. The location is perfect. Away from it all, yet near enough to outlet stores for shopping or hiking, etc. There is so much to do in this area and although we had a lot of free time, most of our ladies preferred to stay at the house and just relax. I would recommend this facility for any age group. You won't be disappointed!

I organized a small reunion event for a diverse group in early spring. The owners were helpful and professional, very easy to work with. The house is lovely - it is lived-in enough to be comfortable, but also nicely decorated, clean, and well-maintained. It is very near some great nature walks and hikes. The location is remote enough from other houses that you feel like you're away from it all, but near enough to town that you can buy groceries. There are living rooms and game rooms that are far enough away from the bedrooms that the early-to-bed crowd will not be disturbed if other people stay up all night chatting. There is a nice mix of rooms for couples and rooms for sharing among non-couples. There are two rooms with multiple bunk beds, which could be used if your group is large. The kitchen & dining area are big enough for group cooking and dinners together. The hot water supply was fine, there are enough lights for reading, and there is even a small library. Nearby attractions include both indoor & outdoor activities, and both easy and strenuous hiking. The stargazing is also good, with a convenient lawn with a good view of the sky and little light pollution. Everyone had a good time and wants to go back again! We were a little nervous to rent a place online sight unseen, but this place is a gem.
