It is located in The Plantation, a private, gated community with lush native, tropical plantings. Our single story home overlooks the bay without having to walk to an upper level to see water, as one often must do in homes not directly on the water. 2 Queen bedrooms, 1 twin bed bedroom. One full bath, plus two additional bathrooms sharing a tub/shower room between them. Two air conditioners, allowing a different setting in two of the bedrooms from the rest of the house. Private dock with boat slip, circular driveway for boat/trailer. Additional outdoor hot/cold shower. Large, custom park style grill. WiFi. We love using our home ourselves, and keep it clean and well supplied.

Kath,
Loving our stay here at Cypress Cove! The floor plan is very spacious, love the wood floors, screened porch and all the windows/doors. We are the only humans on the Bayview Drive this week. Even if the other houses on this block were rented this is still so private.
We've been coming here for years and this week is the clearest and cleanest waters I have seen with the prettiest turquoise color.
People don't know what they are missing.

Facing Bay with private dock and great view. One story, so no flights of steps to upper levels. 2-3 blocks straight across narrow island to The Plantation's free swimming pool, bike path, tennis court, and boardwalk across dunes to Gulf beach.
New Plantation swimming pool, just built in 2010. Exercise room in club house adjoining pool. Just 2-3 blocks walk across narrow island from our home. Tennis court and bike path next to pool. Walkway across dunes to Gulf beach.
The cut was made thru the island to help fishing boats get in and out of the Bay. A great place to fish off the rocks. Only available to guests in The Plantation.

Hi Kath, It is Saturday evening, and we have been home several hours now. We had a great time on our visit to SGI. We were quite happy with Cypress Cove. We are already contemplating a revisit next year during the same time period. Perhaps I will send some of the pics I took to you later. For now I have another 298 email messages to answer. Bruce P

I rented for the month of April--was not told of the noseeums[nats that bite] one is not able to sit outside. The windows can not be opened because of bugs and the deck and dock are unsafe and need to be replaced. The T.V.s are ancient and half the channels are snowy !Upon arrival we discovered dirt and food under furniture and bathrooms not properly cleaned. We asked for cleaning supplies and were questioned as to the need !
Owner response:RENTER:"I am Shocked, Appalled and Extremely irritated---- I have rented thru V.R.B.O. for a number of years---When you rent for a MONTH that means from the 1st to the 1st---One checks in the afternoon of 1st and leaves on the morning of 1st. I will be reporting this to V.R.B.O". So SOMEONE makes false review above for renter in retaliation for renter's signing a 28 day contract! 1) Renter arrived/ complained immediately that there was dirt. Housecleaners found small dust ball near exterior door that would have come in with renter. Not there when they cleaned. No food; no dirty bath. They came, checked, called renter's bluff. 2) Renter complained of poor TV reception; St. George Cable came. All ok. This is island 5 miles offshore. Housekeeper said he'd rewire from connection box to TVs to satisfy renter. That is going above and beyond! Renter seemed content. 3) Renter not honest about "ancient" TVs. The huge built-in sports TV screen in the living room had been replaced with oversize, but slightly smaller new TV. A family member bought three TVs, DVD, etc. We have tapes, books, games, etc. and new incoming family is thrilled to be at our place. They've been at several homes on the island, and say their family prefers ours! 4) Local dock firm checked dock this winter. All fine. Dock watersealed again last Fall; maintained. 5) Near the water in the south, there are no-see-ums at times. Locals put on bug spray, ignore gnats. My daughter, a naturalist, works outdoors, nearby, and doesn't seem bothered, using spray. I putter in the yard, and go inside or spray if gnats come around. Renter's wife said gnats were bad 3rd week, except on the Gulf beach, with its breeze. She said all was FINE 4th week and first 2 weeks when they kayaked. Lied above when said couldn't sit outside the entire 4 weeks. 6) We've NEVER had complaints like this man's, from any visitors. There are new wood floors in living room, halls; new top-of-line GE ceramic top cookstove with double oven. New Panasonic microwave. The renter searched for alleged negative comments. Nothing positive about the top-of-line features and the nice art work, which people comment on. 7) Renters read & signed 4 week lease from Thurs. April 1- Thurs. April 29. Had option in LARGE print at top to lease Sat. April 3 - Sat. May 1. Could pay for extra days if requested, but didn't. ( Island staff is too small to turn around all rental homes in 2 hours.)

My wife and I want to thank you for allowing our family to stay in your home. It was a tremendous experience. You home is warm, inviting, and wonderful. The people on the island were friendly. The weather was tremendous. We really enjoyed our stay and we built some wonderful memories with our family. Our favorite experience was renting a boat to traverse the bay. We watched dolphins play, shelled on a deserted island, and caught some huge fish including a red grouper and a shark. The whole experience was amazing. Again, thank you for accommodating us on such a short notice. We really needed the time away from our horrible Chicago winter, and your home was the perfect solution. Our best wishes for a wonderful 2009.

I wanted to tell you what a wonderful time we had on our vacation! Your house is perfect. We had plenty of room for 4. The decor is beautiful & your kitchen had absolutely everything we needed for cooking! I love how your lot is landscaped. I got some pictures of a Great Horned Owl that hung out in the trees with his mate on the side of the property, looking out the sliding glass doors in the bedroom and living room. I have never seen them before. How Majestic. We were thrilled!! You truly have a lovely home! I wish we were still there! It hit 20 degrees here early this morning! Thanks again! Debbie & Steve

We really enjoyed the stay at your house and everything was fine and worked well , the weather was nice the whole time we were there. We also had an little accident , the friend of our daughter who came with us was stung by one of those blue jellyfish and we called the gate to ask what to do about, in no time help arrived at the house and several people checked her out, brought meat tenderizer and vinegar and gave us good advice, fortunately she was not allergic to the sting, but we all were very impressed and surprised how quick and well this situation was handled, and the people were so friendly. Thanks again to the association for their help. We really liked it at the bay-side, it is so quiet and out in the nature and your house is really just a short walk to the beach etc.
