Luxury estate on the sandy beach of Punta Pescadero (point of the fisherman) where the sun shines 350 days per year. Enjoy world-class fishing on the Sea of Cortez where the only waves are generated by the wind. No wind and this is like a lake! No swells, no sea sickness, and no long trips in the boat. One to three hours of fishing with pick up on the beach in front of the house at 8 AM is usually enough to catch your dinner! Want fresh fish or lobster caught that morning without you going fishing, just ask and it will be delivered, and even cooked for you if you wish. Add a two-person guitar background to your dinner by the pool and you will truly feel you are in heaven, the hustle of life has been left behind.
Walk the beach for "miles" without seeing anyone! No one selling anything, just walk and enjoy undisturbed nature at its best.
The house is finished with travertine floors, marble and granite countertops, marble bathrooms, and slate around the pool with palapa bar. The palapa sitting area on the beach is the place to be with a nice book to read. This is the life!
Griselda will be your maid for your entire stay, washing your dishes and clothes while keeping the property immaculate. Jose Maria is the manager of the property who will also be there every day to look after your needs. Jose Maria speaks fluent English, so no need to worry about language. Just relax and let him worry about your activities.
There are two master bedrooms with queen-sized beds. One has its own private bath and the second shares the full bath with the bunk room where four can sleep. Additional sleeping is possible on the couches or pool lounge chairs.
OPTIONAL rental of the lower floor of the main house with the extra 2 bedrooms and kitchen results in beds for 12 people. Inquire about extra costs and your needs.

Order fresh tortillas from the village of Cardonal to be delivered daily (Jose Maria arranges). Do not try to import beef or chicken into mexico. If you wish, you can ask to go to Costco on your way to the property and stock up for a long stay.
Enjoy the property and the beauty of Mexico. You will return "walking slow, thinking slow, and talking slow" guaranteed!

This place is a great place to stay. Very, very clean, maintained daily. Their is a multitude of things to do in a place away from the crowds. Don, the owner set us up and told us everything we needed, and what to expect. Jose Maria the manager was awesome, and speaks great English. He also picked us up and returned us to the airport! I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for more of a secluded non touristy, peaceful vacation.
Owner response:This is my first year sharing this property with others and it has been a pleasure. We do "take care of you", not just expecting a guest to jump off the plane and find the true beauty of Baja, Mexico. I love this part of Mexico and others are now finding the same. Thank you for the nice words.

My husband and myself are also from Kansas and we were with the group of ten that stayed in Mr. McGann's rental house and we had a great time. This was both of our first time fishing exp. of this type and we enjoyed ourselves alot. The caretaker, Jose Maria, and his wife were on top of every thing that we needed. The boat captains were great and had a great deal of patience with us. We had a relaxing time that we both needed, in a beautiful house and a very beautiful setting. With family and friends it was more than we could have hoped for. We want to go again, and if we can, we would love to stay in Mr. McGann's home again and enjoy the great time that we had. Thank you again.

This trip was my 4th to the area, but my first time staying at a rental house, rather than at a resort hotel. I do not plan on visiting another resort hotel after experiencing the wonderful place that Mr. McGann has here to offer. I am from Kansas, and enjoy fishing any place I get a chance to give it a try. The fishing in this area of the Baja can be super. In fact, even on the "off days" it is still such an enjoyable experience that it can become very addictive. I am a perfect example of that, due to the fact that my first trip to the area about 5 years ago, was something I considered to be a "once in a lifetime opportunity" for me. Now, after returning 3 times since, and looking forward to many more in the future, I realize that each one of the trips is, in my opinion, sort of a continuation of that first "once in a lifetime experience". Staying at Casa McGann was so much more to my liking than my previous visits to a resort. I enjoyed the privacy of a home, and the flexibility you have with meal times and fishing times, etc. Jose Maria did an excellent job of helping all 10 of us in my group to have the opportunity for a perfect vacation visit. He listens to each person who has anything to say or to ask about, and then lives up to his word on the subject. He organizes the boats and captains, can set up catered meals, have meals prepared and loaded on the boats if you wish, and even does what he can to help anyone with special requests or special needs. His level of integrity is of the highest imaginable, and his personality makes him a joy to be around. The boat captains he provided us with were first rate as well. They go all out to give you the best fishing experience they can each and every day. Sometimes the ocean is more "giving" than other days, but the efforts of the captains was never lacking a bit. I don't have anything at all to complain about or to wish was different about the trip. It was by far the best of my visits to Baja yet, and I plan on returning to this exact place many times in the coming years. Great job everyone, ...Mr. McGann, Jose, The Captains, and the House Keepers / Cleaners. You all made my experience one I hope to both remember and repeat for many years to come.

My family had the great pleasure of staying in this property during the Christmas 2009/New Years 2010 holidays. We were joined by my two siblings and their families, making 15 of us in all. As a result, we rented both the main house and the guesthouse.Jose Maria and Griselda looked after our every need and were a pleasure to see each day. The house was so spacious and there were many places for groups of kids or adults to congregate, inside and outside. Likewise, if you wanted some quiet time on your own, you could easily sneak off and have that, too.We were spoiled by the five-star luxury of this home. It was a pleasure to spend time in the kitchen, cooking with all the quality pots/pans and utensils which were so clean they looked new. And there was so much of everything! Despite feeding 15 people on a daily basis, we never ran out of dishes, glasses or silverware. (Our favorite cabinet, of course, was the one that housed all the beautiful Mexican margarita glasses!) The stove, the dishwasher, the blender and the huge refrigerator/freezer handled our needs with ease. The sleeping accommodation was also fantastic. Every room, right down to the bunks, had quality mattresses and nice linen and blankets. I also really appreciated that Griselda had made up the two couches in the guesthouse and they were ready to be slept in when we arrived. It worked out great – from adults to kids, we were all very comfortable. We also really enjoyed the fantastic sound system! It was so great to have a number of speakers that you could adjust depending on who was where and how loud or soft they liked their music. The other thing that worked out so well was all the outside space. It didn’t matter if it was windy or even cool because as long as the sun was shining, we had the area between the houses to sun bathe. Having the six chaise lounges was perfect (you felt like you were in a top-notch resort) and they were the favorite destination of my five teen-aged nieces. In fact, everything about the property feels like a top-notch resort! When it came to the building and furnishing, there was no expense spared and great care was taken down to the smallest details. If houses had feelings, this one would have been bursting with pride – for our two weeks, it was filled with 15 enormously happy people who utilized it to the fullest, who loved every minute of being there, sharing such a special place.I would also like to say what a pleas
Owner response:Susan, The smile on my face is easily as big as the one on the faces of you and your family. This place is just the best I have ever found in the world and the reason I built there. I am happy to share this with others as words like this make sharing a pleasure. Glad you had the best ever!! don

Casa McGann was all it was said to be and then some. The house was very clean and confortable. We had a great time exploring the beaches and outlying areas. Jose Maria and his wife were very helpfull in setting up fishing trips, quad trips and shopping trips. We also had dinner prepared for us at the house,it was heaven! I would strongly recommend renting a car and seeing all there is to see. I plan on going back year after. .

The week was great, very nice house and plenty of room for the seven of us. Great Pool ( which is a must), good views, and AC (another must). It was nice to have a washer and dryer to use plus the housekeeper and Jose Maria, the grounds keeper did a great job. Fishing was good with snapper and grouper from the shore and kayaks and Tuna from a charter that picked us up on the beach in front of the house. I would rent again.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed in this area. Last year we stayed closer to Los Barrilles. This place by far beats lasts years visit. As the owner said, the place was so clean you could eat off the floors. Jose Maria & his wife Griselda were the nicest darn couple you could ever meet. I really wanted to take them home! Jose was very knowledgeable about anything we had questions about. The husbands went out fishing with Jose Marias brother in law "Vicente" and had a fabulous time. They caught several different types of fish. My husband is an avid fisherman & said that that this trip ranked in the top five trips hes ever been on. As far as eating out in Punta Pescadero, we didnt. We ate in Los Barriles several times & one eveing had Jose's sister in law make us dinner. We requested chicken fajitas & inchaladas . The dinner came with rice, beans, fresh guacamole & salsa at a very reasonable price. We also had fresh tortillas delivered every day. We all got so hooked on them. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that wants a very relaxing time away from it all. The grounds around the casa were beautiful as was the inside of the house. Very comfortable & very well stocked. One last note, do be prepared for the roads. If you have never been to Mexico.... they are extremely slow going. I also would recommend not driving at night because of cows in the road. We learned that the drivers there will turn on their flashers if they are ahead of you & give you a warning. A nice friendly tip from the locals. We are already looking foreward to our next visit next year. Only thing we are changing is that we are staying longer next time! Have a great time!
Owner response:Thank you for your kind words. Everyone works very hard to make your Mexican experience the best. Sharing my home with others was not an easy decision, but I now find it enjoyable. Although I cannot directly see the smile on your face, I see it in your words, and look forward to the next guest. Thank you for posting your comments so others know that Mexico is THE place to go. If you think fishing is good in February, try April-October! I think Punta Pescadero is the TOP place in the world, day-in-day-out, and how about the short trips! The roads, by the way, add to the "slow down" experience! Don

Sept 7-14, 2007: Don, We had a great time. It went so fast though! Jose Maria and Griselda were wonderful, as you said. Jose is a gem.The food in at the little town,Cardonal? On the road, was the best we have ever had. Snorkeling to the left of the house was the best, so many fish! The fishing was good too, they brought home sea bass, we grilled and it was great. Had lobster too, wow. We found 2 giant conchs!! They were as big as my head!! I think that was my highlight, so so cool! Once again,Thank you for letting us stay.

April 21-28, 2007: We had a great time, Don — the kids, especially. The street dinner in El Cardonal was a wonderful recommendation, by the way.One note for you: the information document you sent was fabulous, but it has a small typo — it lists the Los Barriles turn-off at KM 118 rather than KM 110. I think it’s pretty obvious when you get there that you are there, but I’d hate for anyone to drive further than needed when they’re anxious to get to the beach! Thanks for everything,

July 6-12,2007: We had a great time. Your place is fantastic. My son Chris rolled the kayak in the surf and a piece to the pole holder broke. We duct taped it together. Give me your address and I will send you a new holder. Fishing was excellent. Day one we caught 17 roosters! The biggest one close to twenty pounds. The next day we wanted some meat and we landed twenty one tuna, four dorado( one was forty pounds) and three pargos. The last day of fishing was a mixed bag. We will be back next summer. We fished with sardines. Vincente said they couldn't find mullet but we did great with the sardines. I listened to your advice as far as the leader size. We didn't start to catch fish until I changed to 15 # test.
