Though the house may be in a beautiful, secluded nook on the Bras d'Or Lakes, it is only minutes away from the centre of town. You can barbeque on your deck, fish off the shore, watch spectacular bird acrobatics as they dive into the water, or simply saunter into town for some local fare. You are a stones throw from local venues that showcase contemporary and traditonal music and culture. Enjoy free outdoor concerts every Thursday night in the town of St. Peter's, where you can take in the Celtic concerts at the outdoor band shell, and only 30 minutes away, yet another free outdoor concert every Sunday night, all summer long, featuring world class Canadian musicians - from Great Big Sea to Natalie McMaster and more. For some additional activity, St. Peter's Battery Park offers very scenic hiking and biking trails on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. This park will also lead you to a beautiful look-off, where you can enjoy spectacular ocean view sunsets. If you are a golfer, this house is located a mere 20 minutes from a Championship Golf course, as well as a full spa and fine dining, where the people are friendly and the greens are of the highest quality. If it is history that you are interested in, then the Nicolas Denys museum is minutes away. Much closer in time than when Nicolas first settled in Cape Breton, in the 1660's, St Peter's Canal opened its doors in 1869. You can't help but trip over the history of the area, and locals will be all too happy to fill you in on the details, you only have to ask once. There are many stores that showcase local artisans, as well as nature's businesses at your disposal for kayaking, guided boat tours, shelling, Bird and wildlife watching, and more.
