Why the Owner Chose Maui Sunset
After living on Maui our first year we became familiar with Maui Sunset while taking walks in our neighborhood. We found that the property was the most beautifully well maintained condo resort on Maui. Huge swimming pool, hot tub, and tennis courts right on the beach. Most folks that have stayed at the Maui Sunset in the past return. It's kind of a secret spot and once you have found it, you will want to return often!!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
The best thing about Maui Sunset is the location. It is close to everything!!! Shopping and restaurants are only two blocks away. Also, you can surf, windsurf, kite, kayak, sup, shore fish, spear fish---you name it you can do it without ever hoping in the car or even putting on your shoes. Walk out the back lanai and the golf course quality grass will tell your feet that you have just stepped on a piece of heaven on earth.

We hope you find our condo to be one of the best available! We take great pride in our unit as we are active owners/operators of our place; rather than dealing with a property management company. This assures you get what you are paying for and then some!! We are fortunate to live a couple of blocks away so if there is anything you need during your stay, we are just a phone call away. ALL of our guests that have stayed in our unit have had favorable comments and experiences while utilizing our unit - we hope you will too!

Owners were great to deal with and the condo is awesome. The condo is loaded it has beach chairs, coolers, and beach toys for kids. The nicest unit I have stayed at in Maui Sunset. Lots of great restaurants close by or you can stay in the condo and cook. It's great if you have kids since its on the ground floor. The wind direction was perfect and we were luckily enough to kite several days from the beach there. I highly recommend it and cant wait to stay there again.

We were very happy with our accommodations which were exactly as represented in the listing and photos. The unit was clean and had a wonderful charm that made you feel at home instantly. The owners provided the beach chairs, boogie boards and umbrella (as noted in their pictures) so we could also enjoy the beach front when we didn't feel like laying around the pool. We thought the unit's location might be noisy but it was not at all...in fact it was so quiet it was the first time in years that my husband and I slept through the entire night...that may also have something to do with the EXTREMELY comfortable bed! The owner was very helpful with all questions relating to the rental and always responded promptly to my emails. The property is immaculate and maintained daily. We loved sitting out in the morning on our patio having breakfast overlooking the grounds and listening to the Minna birds. The putting green was close by as were the BBQ ... a stone's throw away...there are plenty of BBQ's for everyone, we never had to wait. The pool was so clean and we could always get a lounge chair without being over crowded. One of the resident's of the complex even gives free aquasize lessons on Mon/Wed/Fri mornings. Next property over they give free Yoga classes on Wed mornings. There is also a fitness room available free of charge. The morning walks along the beach looking for shells was also amazing! Grocery shopping close by too. This is the second time we have stayed in the Maui Sunset - a different unit each time and my sister has also stayed there. The property is consistently well maintained. It's important to do your due diligence and look through the pictures and descriptions provided and most of all protect yourself and get peace of mind by booking through VRBO.
Recommended for:Age 55+.

Exceptional location-close to restaurants, shopping,&local markets.Condo is clean & modern including the bathroom & the bed is comfortable.Kitchen is well equipped, washer/dryer is clean & new.Even has nice patio furniture. No bugs, quiet, ground floor, bedroom is dark, common area bright & airy, close to parking lot and beach is w/in walking distance for those exceptional Maui sunsets.Condo is close to pool and outdoor grill.Highly recommend taking paddle boarding and/or surfing lessons from Kevin.He is saintly patient and very encouraging [especially for those timid & not athletic].BTW-he knows ALL the beaches & conditions.

Tracie and Kevin's condo was simply perfect. The location, amenities, condo facilities/grounds, and especially Tracie and Kevin - made our first trip to Hawaii very memorable. We loved being on ground floor and being able to open the sliding door for our daughter to run around outside. I loved having the washer/dryer inside the condo as it saved us precious time, and we did not have to pack as much knowing we had a washer/dryer to use. The condo comes fully stocked with everything we needed i.e.) washer/dryer, a/c, supply of clean towels/linens, umbrella, beach towels, cooler, chairs etc. I highly recommend the Maui Sunset condo for future renters ... we would definitely rent from Tracie and Kevin the next time we vacation in Hawaii.

We had a great stay at the Maui Sunset. One very unique thing with Maui Sunset is the amazing lawn. It is perfect, and goes all the way up to the waters edge. Ideal access from the condo to the water for stand-up paddling, kayaking, kite surfing, or windsurfing. This unit is in great condition, and is in a good spot in the complex. It is stocked with everything you will need, and is conveniently located near the pool, hot tub, and beach. We will definitely be back !

As a former islander, I am familiar with most of the condos in Kihei/Wailea and chose the Maui Sunset based on location, amenities, beach access, unit decor/cleanliness, and most of all price. We viewed at least a couple of dozen units on VRBO and the Hagar's unit was in our top 3 based on the previously mentioned criteria. Ultimately, we chose the Hagar's unit and am very pleased that we did so. The unit was immaculate, playfully decorated with unique touches of "aloha" everywhere, and if that wasn't enough, a closet full of beach gear was provided at little or no cost. There were no disappointing "surprises" with the unit as it was exactly as pictured on VRBO, and the check in/out was a breeze. Tracie and Kevin were responsive to all our emails and calls prior to arrival and our financial transactions were effortless as was the return of our deposit. This unit would be perfect for young, energetic visitors set on an active holiday, or the more mature, laid-back kama'aina (like us) looking to just hang loose and enjoy the Maui Sunset! Maui No Ka Oi, ya'll!
