Tastefully decorated with interesting antiques and contemporary paintings, this charming home offers a relaxing stay. The open-plan living and dining room is L-shaped with parquet flooring throughout. Sun light floods through the large living room window and French doors overlooking the lush gardens. The living room has a small flat screen television and stereo system/CD, but the larger television is upstairs in the family room. Both televisions are cable connected.
The newly renovated, fully equipped kitchen has granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and professional cookware. Everything one would need for casual or formal entertaining is provided.
Upstairs are two bedrooms, one which is used as a family room, containing a comfortable sofa bed. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, down comforter and European linens.
The family room offers a television/DVD, desk with colour printer and internet connection, Yamaha piano/keyboard, book case full of recent books for your leisure. In the hallway is a linen closet with additional shelving and a new washer and dryer.

VRBO has been part of my life for several years. After owning and managing holiday rentals in Bath, UK for several years, I moved back to the US. I have purchased this lovely property in Parkfairfax as it is a perfect location from which to enjoy the Washington D.C.area. The house has been totally refurbished, is fully equipped, and in immaculate condition. Parkfairfax has historical zoning because it has been the home of several presidents, and many influential congressmen over the years. It was designed in 1940, by a British architect whose goal was to ensure that each home had park-like views. This was accomplished and the landscaping is maticulously cared for by the home owners association to this day. Come and see for yourself. You won't be sorry.
Why the Owner Chose Alexandria
The house is in an ideal location for enjoying Washington DC and Alexandria. For holiday makers it is a short walk to the metro bus which takes you, in about 7 minutes,to the Pentagon Metro. This is obviously a major benefit for people who are working in the DC area as well. Parkfairfax is close to I395 for those who use a car, and there is always free parking outside of the door. A short stoll to Sherlington enables you to walk to many restaurants, shops and cinema.
