I can not say enough about the most pleasant experience I have had staying at a mountain cabin! From the great and timely communication that I had with Molly from the time that we were on the way to the cabing until the phone call upon us leaving. We felt 100% at home in this lovely and extremely relaxing and clutter free cabin. The hot tub is beautifully placed on the lower level porch overlooking the rushing stream below. We loved the fact that it was covered which allowed us to utilize it even in the rain. I was a little apprehensive about there not being a television in the main sitting area downstairs but this proved to be a blessing. We were able to listen to wonderful music and sit by the fire and focus on conversation and each other rather than the distractions of television. We loved the sitting areas in both of the bedrooms which allowed for viewing. I can not say enough about the cabin from the cleanliness, to the simplistic beauty. I loved the fact that it was nestled in a ravine of sorts of down in a valley. It was such a romantic and private location and we have already recommended it to numerous friends as well as started checking our calendars for our return date! We will back very soon and thanks Molly for your generosity! Diana & JeffRecommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: thanks Diana!

We had the most wonderful time at Serenity on the Creek! We escaped there as I was making many career decisions and it was the PERFECT place to get away. Molly was wonderful and we especially enjoyed the nice music and book selection. Our puppies had a fabulous time in the creek and they also felt right at home. We will definitely be back- I am checking the calendar!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Molly, Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful cabin. We had a great time and the location is perfect. After renting in the Ellijay/Blueridge area for the past several years, we have found a place that we will, without a doubt, return to. The cabin is perfectly equipped and beautifully furnished. This is the 2nd time my husband and I have stayed at this wonderful cabin. I think we enjoyed it as much as the 1st time if not more. The recent rains really had the creek rushing over the many small falls. I love the sound of moving water and slept like a baby listening to it. The cabin is equiped with everything you need and is decorated beautifully. It is kept emmaculate. We loved the hot tub and sitting by the campfire gazing at the stars. Aside from hiking around the property, the cabin is located in "apple country" so tasting and buying local apples is a treat. Shopping and restaurants are close enough to be convenient, although we spent most of our time relaxing at the cabin. Molly is wonderful to work with. We will definitely be back for our 3rd visit.Recommended for: Romantic getaway

There is really no negative feedback that I can offer you on your lovely property. I'm very squeamish about bugs and spiders, and we appreciated the cleanliness of the decks, especially given that the cabin is basically in the woods. There were no spider webs to even speak of... Our dachshunds loved the location too and the small black one, even followed us into the creek several times, unafraid of the water or the temperature. We had a good laugh about that... The dogs enjoyed the decks and loved watching the birds with us in the mornings while we sipped our coffee. Thanks again for your kind hospitality, and I hope to return for another long weekend, when I've settled into a new job. Kindest regards, Laura LippunerDid you find this review helpful? Unbelievable!!! We were greeted by the sounds of rushing water when we opened our car doors! What a beautiful sound! The cabin was perfect in every aspect. We could not have needed or wanted anything more!!! Listening to the water rushing down the mountainside at night was so peaceful. We will DEFINITELY be back again and again. It is our new retreat...a renewal of sorts. Only negative was that we wish we could have stayed LONGER!!!Thanks to Molly!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This cabin by far is one of the nicest that we have had the pleasure of staying at. It was so peaceful and relaxing to feel the comforts of the beautiful out doors and the extreemly beautiful furnishings of the interior. The kitchen had everything you could think of. That is important when you are so far away from home. It was our pleasure to stay there and I am sure we will be back in the future. Hi Molly, Sophie and I loved our extended vacation on the creek this year, 3 weeks of total being away from it all was bliss. As always the cabin is pristine, totally homelike, and just the place to put aside work, kick back and relax. With my age mandated slowdown has come the search for easier ways to do the interesting things, such as: the parking lot half way up Amicolola Falls with the paved trail right to the perfect photo spot on the falls, or the easy trails in the Asca area, or a wonderfully relaxing day at the Atlanta Botanical Garden topped off by a fabulous lunch at Pappadeaux Seafood. (Double yummy). The fall festival in Dahlonoga was super, the shops are great and it's an easy walking town. Helen was not as I remembered it from 25 years ago, no more high end shops, just t shirts, souveniers and tons of people. Even the food there was mediocre. Ellijay and Blue Ridge are great walking towns, can't remember the name of the little restaurant in Ellijay that is so good, but Danielles Great Eats in Blue Ridge has outdoor dining with a dish of water and a treat for the resident dog. And one hasn't experienced down home Georgia til they go to R&A Orchards and try the fruit, the native veggies and, of course, the fried pies. Their regular pies are awesome also. One of the best things about this cabin and location is that there is something in the area for all ages and all interests. And of course, you Molly, are the ultimate host. In all of my years of traveling this still ranks as my favorite experience in renting a house. I'm already counting the days until Sophie and I can come back up to GA next fall. Til then we wish all who come after/before us a wonderful and happy vacation. We wanted a quiet, peaceful getaway with nice wooded grounds and nearby hiking. This cabin was that and more. The cabin itself was extremely modern, clean, well provisioned, thought out, and comfortable. There was nothing lacking. We enjoyed roaming the 8 acres of grounds, including the creek. There were many excellent nearby hikes. We went to several peaks/overlooks like Brasstown Bald. We enjoyed several nearby state parks. Although we had previously lived and spent a good deal of time in Appalachia, we had never been to that particular area. We liked the area and the nearby small towns much better than some of the big tourist areas. One highlight was going to the historic Swan drive-in theater. Very nostalgic and fun. Next time we might take or rent kayaks for the lakes\rivers in the area. There is a nearby river tubing/kayak outfitter that we just did not have time for. Molly was very helpful during the reservation process and during the stay. She provided tons of info, brochures, menus, and hiking trail info in the cabin. It was the kind of place that one could veg out or do a lot of exploring. We did some of both depending on our whim of the day. In short, all we could ever ask for.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The beautiful setting and thoughtfully appointed cabin provided us with our most relaxing vacation ever! We cannot overemphasize how soothing the rushing creek and lush woods surrounding the cabin were. We also enjoyed the selection of books, movies, music available at the cabin. The hiking opportunities on site and at nearby Springer Mountain allowed us to explore and appreciate the Georgia mountain area with minimal time in the car. Serenity on the Creek is aptly named. Molly, Our stay at the cabin was absolutely wonderful and just what we needed to unwind from the pressures of daily life. The cabin was beautiful, peaceful and right in the middle of the most beautiful setting possible. The creek provided a wonderfully calming effect both audibly and visually. A few steps into the woods made us feel like we were back in time..so untouched. We enjoyed the local antiquing and the train ride from Blue Ridge. Molly, We just wanted to thank you for the opportunity to stay at your lovely cabin. The decor had an excellent combination of cozy and elegant charm. The accommodations were exceptional... from the modern kitchen, and it was nice the activities and shops were nearby as well, and to surround sound stereo, the perfectly relaxing hot tub, the cozy porch where you could listen to calming creek and the water falls for hours on end, and the spacious elegant master bedroom had the right touch elegance, especially the awesome fireplace added to our delight. We absolutely loved our stay, so much so, if I were queen for a day, I would find a way to buy it and live there year round. Thanks again for making our romantic weekend getaway so perfect, as we enjoyed ourselves so immensely. Kind Regards, Lori and MarshallRecommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The sound of the creek was so relaxing and peaceful, it was exactly what we needed to unwind a little. Hi Molly: I know it is only Jan. but Sophie and I are eagerly awaiting our 2009 vacation at your fabulous cabin. Just wanted to summarize some of my comments from last year for your future guests to peruse. Everything about the house is totally perfect, Molly you are the best host ever, the driveway is a piece of cake, even for a 70+ old lady and a small dog. The hiking info you gave us was perfect and there were all levels of trails in the Nat. forest. I have vacationed all over the US, England, Ireland, Central & So. America and this property is the best I have ever experienced. Built with attention to every detail, furnished for total comfort & supplied with everything anyone could ask for. The minute you walk in you feel as if you have just arrived at your own home. Explore the creek & woods, leave the TV off, soak in the hot tub, make a fire in 1 of the pits, & just kick back & recharge your batteries. This is the place to do it all. Can't wait until Sept. & our return to Serence Paradise. Kay R. and Sophie (cairn),Owner response: I have received many good reviews on this web site as well as others and I am thankful for all of them, but the best compliment of all is a returning guest! Thanks Kay! It is my goal to make all my guests feel like "Serenity on the Creek" is 'their' home away from home. Molly

Just returned from a magical weekend at Serentity on the Creek. This is one sexy, well appointed cabin! If you want it, it's there. You will feel like you are in the land that time forgot, while being within 30 minutes of everything. The rushing stream, highlighted by landscape lighting at night; provides the same lulling, hypnotic effect as the sound of ocean waves. The hot tub, with a view of lush evergreens, ferns and the creek was very romantic and relaxing after hiking. Yes, we did the hot tub when it was 32 degrees-and it was amazing. Gentlemen, forget the jewelry store. If you want to re-connect, propose or woo take her to Serentity on the Creek! You will even find a champagne cork in the kitchen for that bottle you didn't finish! Grab a blanket and go outside from either deck to watch stars so clear and bright you will feel like you can touch them. Absorb the beauty and take that feeling home with you. Can not wait for my next mini honeymoon at this place. My daughter gave us a weekend as a Christmas present. One of the most memorable gifts I have ever received!Did you find this review helpful? Dear Molly, Few times in life so plans work out as great as one thinks...but this long weekend happens to be one of those times! This is a rare find; we don't want to tell too many people about it because it's so like an uncovered treasure in the cozy nest of the mountains. Wow! And.....we even got to see some SNOW! Fun can be had in many ways including antiquing, hiking, and lots of our favorite....eating & drinking! THe movies are a nice touch but "Deliverance" should be reserved for the last evening of your stay...scary. We devoted ourselves to experience all of the musical library and simple pleasures that the cabin holds. I've never cooked this much on vacation, but being here is quite relaxing. We're not saying "good-bye".....We will definitely be back to Serenity!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Molly, You have done an incredible job!! Our stay was so relaxing and your personal touch to set up the Christmas tree was awesome! Pam and I truly enjoyed our stay at Serenity on the Creek. You have so aptly named the cabin as we both realized just how much we needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. You've thought of every detail for our stay. The cabin was very comfortable; the hot tub provided a way to relax after the 642 steps to climb to Amicalola Falls, with a terrific view of creek. Once again we had a wonderful time meeting you and chatting when you stopped by. We will certainly recommend Serenity on the Creek to our family and friends. May God continue to Bless you and your family. “Serenity on the Creek” has so very much to offer, and we can’t wait to return! The highlights for us were undoubtedly the tranquil melody of the creek, the firepit situated on the creek bank, the upstairs master bedroom complete with sitting area and private terrace overlooking the brook, and of course, the hot tub. We had no problems at all driving to the cabin in our compact car with manual transmission, and were extremely pleased with the remoteness of the property. The cabin itself is just gorgeous! No detail went unnoticed – from the travertine tile, hardwoods, granite countertops, stained glass, landscape lighting that thoughtfully outlined the path down to the creek, and even the eclectic collection of mixed CD’s. The upstairs master suite contains a sliding door with screen that leads to the terrace. We really enjoyed a romantic candlelit meal there and slept with the screen door closed so that we could hear the running water throughout the night. The cabin’s terrain is lush with ferns, seasonal florals and the surrounding tree canopy truly completes the creek side setting. We created a weekend full of memories here!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

Molly, We are in awe of your beautiful cabin!! Thanks for providing such a lovely vacation spot. The cabin is truly one of a kind and had all the comforts one could ask for. Even though I had knee surgery two weeks ago, the stairs provided on opportuntiy for some physical therapy, Ha, Ha! I plan to come back again so I can enjoy the outdoors more. We really enjoyed out time here. The local people are so friendly and the antique shops and resturants were perfect for us. We really enjoyed lunch at the River Street Grill. Our two dogs loved going for walks and one, Tucker, even ventured into the creek. We really are not looking forward to returning to the hustle and bustle (not to mention the noise) of everyday life in Oxford Alabama.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We rented this fabulous cabin 5/23-5/26 with a total of 4 people. Serenity on the Creek is pretty far off the beaten path, but still surprisingly close to grocery stores and Mom & Pop restaurants. It was such a beautiful place, the pictures don't do justice. Every single detail was perfect from the landscaping to the flooring to the tile in the bathrooms. It has a very rustic feel and it's a very cozy place to spend a long weekend (or more). The kitchen is great for cooking large meals, I especially loved the gas stove. The split level layout makes great use of the space and provides a great deal of privacy since the living area separates the top and bottom sleeping areas. After a long day of tubing on the Coosawatee River, we all relaxed in the hot tub and it was perfect! Be sure to check out the tubing activities in the area. It's a very cheap and fun activity that kids will remember forever. My only concern for others traveling to this cabin is to make sure you have a vehicle that can handle off-road situations. It is quite a distance from the paved road to the cabin and you travel on rocks and dirt for a while before you get to the very steep paved driveway. (It looks steeper than it really is.) We were lucky enough to be in an SUV so we didn't have any problems, but I wouldn't want to drive a car there unless it's all wheel drive. Don't let that discourage you, if you have a truck or SUV, the location is a piece of cake. Overall, I highly recommend this cabin for it's beautiful scenery, well appointed comforts, and it's reasonable price. I have stayed at others and they don't compare to Serenity on the Creek.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: To anyone considering staying at "Serenity on the Creek": First, I must say I am thrilled to hear all the wonderful comments posted, thank you! It is a pleasure to provide a unique & peaceful top notch cabin "get-a-way" with a personal touch. To future guests; please note that the distance from the pavement to the cabin driveway is only a little over one (1) mile on a well maintained gravel road. Although it is a gravel road no one in over 100 rentals in ALL types of vehicles has ever had a problem coming or going! You do not need 4WD, SUV, or a front wheel drive vehicle to reach the cabin. Feel free to call/email me to discuss if you have personal concerns. Regards, Molly Ford

My husband, our dog and I stayed here for a week and loved everything about it. The creekside location was the best part. We slept with the bedroom windows open every night and listened to the sounds of the creek. There is so much to do without going far from the cabin. You can explore the 8 acres the cabin sits on, play in the creek or hike in the National Forest. If you want to leave the cabin there are plenty of things in the area to keep you entertained. All the State Parks are pet friendly so you don't have to leave your dog behind. Check out Mill Creek Falls, it's about an hour away at the Hickey Gap Campground. It's a very pretty falls with a rope swing and swimming hole at the bottom. It was so much fun to play at. As far as the cabin itself it was extremely clean, well decorated, very comfortable and the kitchen had everything I needed and more. The selection of books, games and movies were a nice touch as well. It was so nice to deal directly with the owner Molly and not some rental company. Out of all the cabins we've rented in the mountains this was by far our favorite and we can't wait to return.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

If you need a place to revitalize and reconnect, this is the cabin for you. It exudes peace, relaxation, but most of all warmth. Every thing about this cabin is comfortable and inviting. The surrounding environment is filled with beauty and magic. Molly (the owner) is just as inviting as the cabin. She is very helpful with any questions you may have about the cabin or surrounding areas. This has become one of our favorite destinations. After all, it is Serenity.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This was our favorite mountain rental property that we have visited! The sounds and view of the creek are very relaxing. We enjoyed walking along, and in, the creek with our small dogs. The rest of the property is great for short hikes and has some other nice chairs and places to sit along the way. The house is extremely romantic and was designed with many nice touches that made us feel more comfortable than usual while on vacation. Molly is also wonderful to help out when needed. I would rate my expectations as higher than average, but this cabin experience was excellent and truly made our vacation memorable!Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway.

My husband, pet daschund, and I recently spent 2 days at Serenity. It far exceeded our expectations in cleanliness, beauty, and privacy. We truly felt away from it all and never wanted to leave. We have stayed at many cabins and this one was the most romantic inside and out. My favorite things were the soothing sound of the creek, the hot tub looking at the treetops, the gas grill, the remote controlled fireplace in the upstairs bedroom, and all the decks. We had a blast playing barefoot in the stream with our little dog. Don't forget it bring an old pair of shoes and your camera! If you forget any of the essentials no worries, Molly had it covered. She is very helpful and makes you feel right at home instantly. I know she cares about her home because it is very well maintained. I wanted this to be a secret, but decided to share some heaven on earth. We will be back with our children, so book early before I do! Sincerely, Kathy, Tom, and AbelRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My fiance and I recently spent a week nestled among nature and tranquility at Serenity by the Creek. Upon arrival at Serenity, we checked our hectic lives at the door and transcended into the secluded luxury of the cabin and rich Georgia mountain forest surroundings. The house itself had every amenity we could have even dreamed of and MORE! We loved the fact that Molly had provided a fully equipt kitchen and we were especially pleased that everything was in practically new and working condition. Even our grill at home doesn’t start up as effortlessly as the grill at Serenity! Although we had pledged our vacation goal to not step foot off the relaxing property, there were plenty of brochures, maps, menus and reviews of each carefully organized within the cabin just incase we had the urge to go out. We did however, take several explorations around the acres the property sits on and we were delighted to play in the waterfalls and rushing creek. We found ourselves awed by the peace and relaxation Serenity on the Creek provided us with and we will defiantly be heading back there soon. - Katie and David, FloridaRecommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

The pictures do not really do this cabin justice. I've stayed in probably about 10 mountain cabins, and this one by far is my favorite. Most other cabins do a nice job at providing a home away from home, but you can always tell that the accessories might not be quite top notch. They might be more along the "if this gets ruined by a renter, I won't have to cry about it" caliber. However, this cabin was A-ONE! It was really beautiful. There was so much detail. I've always had to remember little things like coffee or filters or foil for the grill at other cabins, but Molly made sure to have all that there. She was super well stocked with little things you might not think about including a pretty good assortment of spices or an extra bar of soap. Of course the creek, the hiking, the hot tub, and the view was fabulous, but I think this cabin stands above the rest in its detail. Molly really put a loving touch into this place, and the care shows. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and will recommend it to any of my friends looking for a cabin.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

From the moment I stepped out of my car in the driveway, and heard the sound of the creek and saw with clarity, the stars in the sky, I knew I was in just the right place for the peace that I was seeking. The owner / designer left the lights on for me and everything was impeccable. The pictures on this sight, while they are nice, don't do this place justice. Every attention to detail was made, from the feather topped mattresses to the luxury towels and linens, each experience of the weekend was accentuated by the beauty of the surroundings in and out of the cabin. I even walked the property - down to the creek and all the way back to the back. Molly has found the most beautiful places along the way and created a meandering path to discover it and then placed a chair or a bench where she just knew you'd want to sit and take it all in. This was exactly what I needed for my weekend of solitude. I can hardly wait to return!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

"Serenity" had everything we were looking for in a vacation rental---quiet, private setting [not another cabin in sight] with extremely clean and comfortable accommodations. It's a wonderful place to relax, especially lounging on the balcony[s] or the hot tub overlooking the creek. Everything you need is here; top notch appliances, cookware, linens, right down to movies, books and a great music selection. A real plus is having Molly, the owner, nearby to fill you in on things to do in the area and answer any questions you might have. All in all, a great place to stay!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and twelve year old son stayed for several relaxing days. We enjoyed the quiet surroundings, hot tub, and creek. Our son took the bottom floor and my husband and I had the top floor, with the living area in between. It gave us all a great deal of privacy. The surrounding area is beautiful, but hard to get around due to lack of directions. We spent a whole day trying to find a place to fish. When we located a spot on a map, it took several hours to find out how to get there. If you are looking for a place to "get away from it all" this is it. You are half an hour from anywhere (including grocery and gas-so be prepared!). Also, be prepared for a VERY steep driveway (took a little getting used to, and I would not attempt this after dark!) This is perfect for a romantic getway weekend for one or two couples. I would love to go back in the fall, during Apple season-I imagine it is absolutely glorious.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I spent our 22nd anniversary here and enjoyed it immensely. The cabin is so nicely built with custom walnut furniture and a really top notch kitchen. The owner spent a lot of time with the layout and lighting and it makes for a very wonderful retreat for romantic occasions. The Rich Mountain Wilderness is nearby and you will never see more gorgeous mountain scenery. I especially like the hot tub which is located on the lower deck within earshot of the beautiful stream. A great place to relax. The driveway is short and steep - but it is paved and does not represent a problem. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get away to the mountains.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.
