This was our second stay at Carmen's apt. It is charming and very well located. Mirella (Manager) was a wonderful hostess to us and took care of our every need. We had a wonderful cooking lesson, following a trip to the Campo d Fiori for fresh ingredients. We were traveling on to France so also had a french lesson by an excellent teacher. Glad to have Fox News to watch on TV. Hope to return in the future. .

Perfect way to experience Roma

First trip to Italy was a little intimidating. This apartment made it feel like we had lived there for years. It was everything we could have wanted and more. Walking distance to everthing. We walked to the Vatican, the Pantheon, Trey Fountain, Spanish Steps and numerous Piazza's. All kinds of shopping and restaurants. We cooked our breakfast in the apartment each morning, then headed out for a day of adventure. Mirella was so helpful with suggestions and directions. She arranged pick-up from the airport, this was great, since we were kind of overwhelmed by the beauty of the city. After the first day,I started planning on when we could come back. We will be back and stay at this delightful apartment again.....A presto !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were so impressed with this apartment on our first trip to Rome. Very well situated right in the the middle of the Piazza Navona area. Close to all sorts of good eating places. shopping and my wife's favorite, tons of good gelati. We found our apartment a good home base for walking to all the attractions and only had to use a bus once to go outside of town. We walked every where!!! The Vatican was a short walk, as well as the Pantheon. The Coliseum was only a bit further but still easy to walk to. We loved the place next door for great pizza and Da Francesco three doors down for its wonderful food as well. The apartment was just like the pictures show. Extremely clean and well stocked with all the things you need. Mirella who showed us our place was a great source of information and sent us to some very nice places to eat with a good discount. She also set up our transportation to and from the airport. Everything was set up perfect. If you are a single or a couple this is the place for you to stay when you go to Rome. You can't go wrong:)

Experience Rome like a Local

My wife and I spent 7 days in Carmen and Mirella's apartment, and we highly recommend it for travelers wishing to experience Rome as a local would, without the hectic, hotel/guided tour experience. The apartment is perfect if you want to navigate Rome on foot, the only exception would be the Borghese Gallery, and any attractions near the Train Station. For these you can take the bus or taxi. The Vatican is an easy 10 minute walk. We arranged the car service through Mirella to pick us up at the airport, and this worked out well. Would recommend this service. Mirella met us at the apartment, showed us around the area, and provided some good advice. The apartment is filled with helpful travel info. There is a supermarket nearby, where we bought breakfast stuff, coffee, baked goods etc.. We had breakfast in the apartment, before heading out for the day. Being near the Piazza Navona was a good experience as well, we would often get a table during the evening, order a drink or coffee, and just enjoy people watching, and planning our next days activities.The restaurant right outside the apartment was good. We ate there 3 times, the staff knew us. The 10% discount helps. Some helpful tips: There are many restaurants in the area, most with simialr menus, Da Francesco was not good, too crowded, my wife found a small piece of metal wire in her ravioli. Bring a travel alarm clock if you need to wake by a certain time, there is no wake up service, and the alarm clock/radio in the apartment didn't seem to work. The restaurant outside the apartment can be loud, it is a young local crowd, and Romans do eat late. You don't hear it once in the bedroom. We planned on purchasing the Roma Pass, but they were sold out? We did the official Vatican tour, it was short, covered the most popular areas of the museum. You can spend all day there, if you tour on your own. The Borghese Gallary needs a reservation which u can get through a phone call before u leave for Italy, or a day or two before you plan to visit. The apartment was comfortable and clean, Mirella was friendly and helpful. We didn't meet Carmen, she was away. We recommend this apartment if you want a nice stay in Rome , be within walking distance ( as long as you like walking) to most major attractions and be on your own in planning your vacation.

Our stay at the beginning of October in this apartment was perfect! Besides a slight delay waiting for the car service to pick us up at FCO, upon arrival Carmen showed us everything we needed to know about the apartment, provided us with a few recommendations, and we quickly settled in. As others have noted, the apartment was exactly as pictured, right down to how the table is set. Yes, the bathroom is a little small, but functional. The kitchen/living area was perfect for cooking up a few pasta meals and breakfast each day, refrigerator was small, but adequate for storing juice, milk, cheese, and other goodies. The bedroom was also nice, with plenty of space for our luggage and such, and the satellite TV ok for a few English news channels and an occasional Bewitched in English too! And the air conditioning was definitely nice to have on and available during our stay, as it did get pretty warm there a few of the days we were there, even in October. Also as advertised, the location is very good in regards to being central to all the top sites you will see in Rome. We walked everywhere from our home base and there are plenty of restaurant options very close by, a couple of Carrefour supermarkets, and a really nice little supermarket between the apartment and piazza Navonna near Santa Mariia Della Pace church (take a right out of the apartment, take another right, then take a left and it will be on the left) that we stumbled on that became a good stop to pick up snacks and beverages cheese, meat, wine, and beer a lot cheaper than Carrefours and had a similar selection. We completely enjoyed our time in Rome and this apartment. We are so glad we did this vs a hotel in a city where you'd pay up to twice the cost of the apartment per night for just a small room with a bed and tv, and maybe breakfast. We will recommend this apartment to others for sure!

Beautiful Rome

My husband and I stayed in the apartment for 8 days the beginning of September on our first visit ever to Rome. The apartment itself is beautifully decorated, very comfortable and we felt immediately at home and had everything we needed available to us. The location is fabulous. It has a supermarket just a few blocks away. Transportation is easily available by bus or taxi. There are many excellent restaurants available in the neighborhood. Best of all we were able to walk everywhere and each outing was an amazing adventure. Mirella met us in the apartment when we first arrived and showed us maps and gave us suggestions as to where to go for sightseeing and restaurants. It was wonderful to have that connection right away and helped to make us feel comfortable and at home. We cannot wait to return to Rome and we would certainly rent the apartment again as it was perfect for us. I have already recommended it to some our friends that are planning trips in the future.

Terrific in Every Way

The time we spent (just short of a week) in this accommodation was great. Mirella greated us at the apartment and was friendly and helpful. She provided us with all the information we needed, including maps and some personal directions to the places close by -- and not so close by. Because this apartment is so perfectly located, we didn't spend a lot of time there during the day as we were out and about. In the evenings when we came back to collapse, I truly enjoyed listening to the chatter from the restaurant out front as we kept the windows open in the warm evenings. Even the early morning wakening of the city was delightful for me, as I loved to hear the street cleaners and other city sounds gently reminding me that another day of getting to know the city was to begin. The apartment is comfortable, cute, clean and has character. I would definitely stay there again -- and recommend it without hesitation. Go there!

After a friend’s recommendation to consider looking into VRBO’s apartment listings for our stay in Rome, we decided to go that route instead of staying in a hotel. We could not have been more pleased. Every little detail was taken care of by the owners from suggestions for food markets, internet cafes, restaurants, directions, etc. to surprising us with Italian candies, cookies and wine once we got there. The owners were so welcoming and gracious! The apartment is absolutely charming. We knew we were somewhere special. The kitchen had all we needed to prepare a quick breakfast before heading out each day. That saved us some euros so we had extra to spend on other meals, museums and a personal tour guide. In fact, that was one of the best things about our stay in Rome. Carmen and Mirella put us in touch with a very capable archeologist studying at the university who gave us personal tours of the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica and the Roman ruins (Colosseum, Forum, etc). I would highly recommend using her!! She has a passion for archeology which came out in everything she said; she was a pure delight. She also shared with us what Italian culture is like for her personally which was fascinating as well. Her fees were very reasonable. We used her for two half days and she was worth every penny. The apartment is in a fabulous area that is centrally located making it possible to walk most places. By exploring on foot, we were able to save some more euro and take in the sights, smells and sounds of this city. We would highly recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to truly experience Rome. The only suggestion that I would have is to bring a sound machine if you are a light sleeper. A very good restaurant is next door so you hear people eating right outside your apartment window. Two doors that can be closed (bedroom and kitchen area) help buffer the noise tremendously. We used a sound machine and sleep like a baby. The king size bed was very comfortable. One other drawback would be the size of the shower--a little tight if you are a very large man. Other than that, it was PERFECT!

A Wonderful Stay - Charming and Comfortable

We just returned from a nine night stay at Carmen's lovely apartment. I was so pleased to see that the apartment is as charming as the other reviewers said. In addition, we found the apartment very comfortable and peaceful at night. The location is very well situated and we were able to walk easily to the majority of must-see sites. There is a Carrfours around the corner, a wonderful cafe very near by, two great restaurants on the same street and the extremely popular Da Bafetto and Frigidarium (for pizza and gelato), just a short walk. We found both Mirella and Carmen very accomodating and helpful as well. I should mention that we also hired Annalisa Falcone as our guide for the Vatican and she did a fantastic job. All-in-all, Mirella and Carmen made our first trip to Rome a true pleasure.

My husband and I just returned from two weeks in Rome staying at this property. The location is perfect. We walked everywhere including to the Villa Borghese. Mirella is extremely helpful and readily available and responsive. The apartment is exactly as portrayed in description and picture. There is a restaurant next door with lots of activity late most nights. It is generally pleasant chatter and in the bedroom the restaurant noise is totally blocked by closing the doors to living area. A nice addition would be a small comfortable sofa or two comfortable chairs for sitting in to read or talk.in the living dining area.

Perfezione

This was our first visit to Rome. Our son is studying abroad for his spring college semester and my wife and I took this opportunity to visit this part of the world. We were unsure of the city of Rome or the realities of the locations we were considering. I can say without hesitation that this location was perfect. You are within walking distance of everything (20 to 30 minutes at a casual stroll) and yet not hampered at night by the sounds of a "normal" city (despite the fact that you are in the middle of Rome). So, the location is convenient, perfect and, as an added bonus, you are injected in the city not segregated in a sterile (and small) hotel room. This apartment is EXACTLY what is described and pictured on the site. That is the location, now, the real blessing of this spot is the wonderful hostesses; Carmen and Mirella. We feel our lives are better for meeting them. Not only do they go out of their way to accommodate their guests, but they are gracious, kind, and talented people. They arranged for our transportation from the airport to Rome and the return trip as well. This was done flawlessly and started our trip off in a relaxed and tranquil manner. Mirella met us at the apartment when we (eventually) arrived, Carmen was in Spain, and fit her schedule to accommodate our timetable. Originally we were going to tour a little and meet Mirella when the apartment was ready but we extended our tour that first day (with our son as our guide) and did not get to the apartment until evening. We called and explained this with Mirella and she was extremely gracious and accommodation. We decided to visit Florence via the high-speed train for the weekend (which I highly recommend both) and was not able to meet with Carmen until the day before we were scheduled to return to the United States. Carmen opened her shop (literally across the narrow street from the apartment) just for us. We had the pleasure of meeting some of her friends and had a wonderful visit with her. Our trip to Rome was enhanced and made that much more pleasurable just for the time we were able to visit with Carmen and view the products in her shop made with her amazing talent. We definitely will stay at this location when we return for our next visit but not only will I be sure to arrange our schedule to guaranty we can stay at this warm, charming and comfortable location but I will also make sure we have more time to spend with these wonderful people.

It was a great relief to find this delightful apartment precisely as praised by the many previous guests who wrote reviews. You will find everything you need in this thoughtfully and artistically set up apartment. It is within easy walking distance of many of the sights on most everyone's "should see" list, two steps from fine eating, two minutes from a supermarket; it is well maintained, clean and you will even find the table set with some welcoming sweets, candles, and wine. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to friends or family.

Just returned from a wonderful 5-night stay at this apartment in Rome. My boyfriend and I loved the place, it was perfect for us. The location is absolutely ideal - on a picturesque, quiet, cobblestone street centrally located in Centro Storico. The immediately surrounding area is charming and perfect for strolling - plus many shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. You will not feel like a tourist staying here - the apartment has charm and character that you won't find in any hotels, but it is within walking distance from every major attraction. We mostly walked to all the sights in Rome, but a very main thoroughfare is just a few minutes away and there you can catch a bus to most everywhere if you do not want to walk. The flat itself is great, perfect size for a couple. It is very clean and just as shown in the photos. Carmen, the owner, greeted us upon arrival and had left lots of little treats around the apartment as well as a packet of information about Rome and the neighborhood (bus information, local restaurant recommendations...FYI the trattoria next door, Il Corallo was amazing - had our best meal in Rome there...instructions for the apartment, map of the neighborhood, etc.) While we didn't need any further assistance beyond this, I felt as though Carmen and Mirella were always available should we need help. I would absolutely rent this flat again and I whole-heartedly recommend it to other travelers.

My husband just returned home and found our stay at this charming flat simple perfect! The location is wonderful and we walked EVERYWHERE!!!! We enjyed being able to eat breakfast there in the mornings and pop back in during the day when needed. We couldn't get enough of the cobblestone streets and old world style neighborhood. Carmen and Mirella couldn't not have been more helpful or hospitable - it was simple perfect.

My husband and I just returned from our 10 day stay in Rome. We could not have picked a better apartment to rent, both for location and comfort. The location was great; we were able to walk everywhere and if we didn't walk, we would go to a taxi stand, just steps away from our front door. We loved the neighborhood and felt a little less like tourists. Every morning we went around the corner to have our "Cappucino and cornetto", just like the locals. In the same area we enjoyed the fresh fruit stand that set up every morning and could buy anything we wanted in the supermarket also on the same street. The photos of the apartment are perfect. Mirella met us when we arrived and spent time with us, explaining all we needed for our stay and providing us with maps, etc. She was always available by phone if we had any questions or concerns. The airport pickup she arranged for us was excellent and well priced. And her tour guide recommendation, Annalisa, for the Vatican Museum was wonderful. Two of the best restaurants we ate in were just steps away also. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend the apartment to anyone who is thinking of savoring some local flavor in Rome, as an option to a hotel stay.

The location is ideal. It is central and there is no need to grab a taxis to get to most major tourist attractions. We walked everywhere: piazza navona, trevi fountain, vatican, sistine chapel, colisseum... The appartment is exactly as shown in the pictures. It is very charming and welcoming. We did not get the chance to met Carmen, but Mirella was there to take care of us. She provided us some maps and showed us the way to all the major attractions. We loved our stay in that apartment and would recommend it to all family and friends. Merci à Carmen et Mirella pour le service acceuillant et l'appartement très chaleureux. And by the way, the laudry shop around the corner is the perfect spot for washing clothes (and not expensive). The owner does not speak english, but his service is good. Not even a sock missing !

The apartment was situated in a great location - within walking distance of several Rome attractions, resturants were close by. We very much enjoyed dinner at the resturant next door. As per other reviewers the apartment is exactly as pictured. It was well kept and we felt like we were a part of the neighbourhood. What a treat to be able to walk in and out the front door to the cobblestone streets of Rome. Carmen and Mirella were very helpful and communicated frequently with us prior to our arrival to ensure our stay would be a pleasant one. Even making arrangements for a car to pick us up at the airport.When next in Rome - which we are counting on as we did throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain - we will book again.

We recently stayed at this charming Piazza Novona apartment for a week. It was everything we hoped for. It exceed all of our expectaions. The Piazza Navona area is centraly located and a wonderful place to stay. Make sure you try the IL Collaro restaurant right next door. The food is wonderful and the staff is excellent and friendly (ask for Mario). Can't wait to returm. Thanks Carmen and Mirella.

I almost don't want to give Carmen's place a good review because we don't want it to be booked every time we go to Rome, but alas, my conscience got the better of me. This apartment is perfect for anyone wanting to be in the middle of everything Rome has to offer. You are literally steps away from the popular della Pace street, the Piazza Navona...really walking distance to everything. It's clean, spacious, and Mirella and Carmen were so kind. They even helped arrange a car service for us from the airport that was cheaper than a taxi. We stayed in a hotel at the end of our trip that was more expensive and didn't compare to the convenience and space of this apartment. By far, staying here was one of the best decisions we made regarding accommodations...that and the vrbo in Praiano :) ~Desiree & John

This charming apartament is in best location in Rome. Very central , close to all atractions. We did not need to use bus or metro. But the most importante is that Carmen and Mirrella are very helpful and just a phone call awy.They arranged a car for us to pick us up from airport.. The moment we arrived to apartament , Carmen was right there to welcome us. Apartament was perfect for our week staing in Rome. Clean, on very quiet street, but jet close to every thing what we needed. I would recommend this apartament to any body. Me and my husbande , definitly will stay there on our next trip to Rome. Carmen's apartment in Navona was absolutely perfect. This location cannot be topped - we walked everywhere and then returned home to this wonderful apartment. We quickly realized that the time to walk was morning and evening - so we loved coming back from the 35 - 37 degree heat to the nice, cool airconditioned apartment for a couple of hours rest. Everything you could possibly need was there for us in the apartment. Because of Carmen's decorative touches, it truly felt like home. il Corallo right outside our window was our favourite spot to eat. We also enjoyed the food in the Trastevere area. Carmen was so very helpful and we especially appreciated her arranging a car for us to and from the airport. We would hate to think of staying anywhere else if we return to Rome and will surely recommend this to any of our friends who will be travelling there.

This apartment is a truly a gem. It is nicely appointed, spotless, and spacious enough for a couple. The location - in the lively, interesting area Piazza Navona - is unmatched. There are lots of great restaurants nearby. This is our third rental either through Carmen (VRBO #124068) or Mirella (VRBO#108288) and I must say how helpful and professional they are to deal with. They seem to anticipate a traveller's needs and therefore have provided alot of useful information in the apartments about various Rome attractions and are readily available to assist in making arrangments for tickets, taxis, cell phone rental, etc. I highly recommend this apartment or Mirella's, which is also in a fantastic location.

Well what can I say? This property was everything that we were told! The Location was perfect! Central for all of the main sights and close to public transport. If you want to actually 'live' in Rome for a bit during your visit, this is the place to rent. Everything you need is within EASY walking distance of the apartment. The Vatican is 10 minutes west and Trevi Fountain is 10 minutes to the East, and there are enough sites and restaurants in this area to occupy a visitor for weeks. Located on a quiet street, so even though you're near 'everything', you don't hear it 24/7. Close to Piazza Navona and Campo de Fiori. Taxi stand was a short stroll away and you could visit a different gelato shop or coffee stand every day. Exactly as portrayed in the VRBO listing both in the listng itself and the photos, very clean and well-maintained. The owner provided a detailed map of all the amenities within easy walking distance of the apartment, including a laundromat around the corner. We took advantage of the owner's recommendation for private walking tours of Pompeii and the Roman Forum - both guides were EXCELLENT. Highly recommend using the driving service to and from the airport that the owner suggested (she will also make arrangements). Especially convenient since we were tired after the overseas flight - the driver was there with a sign waiting for us. Well worth it for a set price that you know about ahead of time. We would recommend this apartment without reservation to anyone. When we return to Rome, we will definitely stay here!

Carmen has a beautiful apartment in the best location for walking to attractions. The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable, quiet stay. She has decorated the unit with some of her own artwork, and everything works, it's clean, it's really perfect. Carmen came out to meet us with a hug the morning we arrived, and personally inspected the apartment after the cleaning folks finished. She is often right across the street at her studio, and we saw her most days we were there. Her associate Mirella helps manage the properties, and also met with us to make sure everthing was good. They both made us feel at home, and were really the nicest people we met in Rome! Very sweet people.

We were lucky enough to stay in this apartment over Easter 2010, and it was absolutely the best location in Rome - close enough to real Roman life to be interesting, but still close enough to the really touristy spots to be accessible when you want to get there. Mirella was fantastically helpful, providing us with a list of great restaurants within easy walking distance, and we would very happily stay there again, any time!

We just returned from a wonderful week in Rome. We were pleasantly surprised that the apartment was EXACTLY as described on this website. It has everything you could want or need during your stay - right down to a hairdryer, umbrella and more travelguides and maps than you would ever need. Carmen and Mirella have done an amazing job making their apartment feel like home and were so helpful during our stay - from the pre-arranged taxi to and from the airport to a map of the neighborhood, it was all easier than I could have ever imagined. The apartment is a perfect location to walk to all the major sights in Rome with many transportation options nearby. It's on a quiet street and with the bedroom door closed you can't hear a thing (we slept better than at home!). The neighborhood is charming - just blocks from Piazza Navonna - with great little shops and restaurnts. After sightseeing all day, we found ourselves rushing back to the ease and casual atmosphere of our little piece of heaven. Thank you Carmen and Mirella for making our time in Rome a trip to remember. We will always cherish our beautiful dish and the memories attached!

We were looking for accomodation near to the centre of Rome for three nights and found Carla's apartment on VRBO, and we found a gem! Ideal location, which was only a short walk to the Vatican, Trevi, Spanish Steps, etc., and two minutes from the local supermarket. Better still, it was next door to one of the best restaurants in the area. The apartment was well furnished and we will be staying here on our next trip to Rome. Ciao!

Dear Carmen & Mirella, We meant to write a review of your apartment, but became so busy with Thanksgiving and Christmas and we also moved to a different house after the new year. But we do tell all our friends what a great time we had in Rome staying in your apartment and how helpful you both were to us. The apartment was perfect, everything we needed was right there. restaurants, markets, transportation and we really enjoyed ourselves. Also the location is excellent. We didn't realize how close the apartment was to all the attractions in Rome until we went for a walk one day and discovered that by accident. We had been taking the bus, which was also very convenient, but found we could walk everywhere from the apartment. In addition to our other comments, we forgot the most important part of the apartment . . . Carmen and Mirella. These two ladies are the BEST, they were so helpful with every concern we had about our trip - they helped us with everything, transportation, you name it, just everything - my husband had purchased a jacket in Florence that had to be altered and we thought we would have to have it shipped to the states....not so, when we arrived in Rome, we mentioned it to them, they contacted the store in Florence and the next day it was sitting on our steps in Rome. We cannot say enough about how gracious, kind, helpful and friendly Carmen & Mirella are. They really go out of their way to help you - and with things that are of no benefit to them, they just want to make sure your trip is the best. They assisted us before we left home, when we arrived, all through our stay, and, they are even assisting us with our trip this year and we are not even staying in Rome. Thank you again Carmen & Mirella, it was our pleasure to have met you and to hopefully stay in your lovely apartment again. P.S. We stayed here for a week in mid-September. The apartment is lovely, a perfect size for my husband and me, and has all you need for your stay. The bathroom and kitchen are almost new, and everything works perfectly. The weather was very warm and humid, so the AC was a critical part of our comfort. Carmen was a gracious hostess who provided us with some much-needed help with shopping. The little restaurant next door was the best - great food and great service! Let Carmen and Mirella help you with arrival transportation; after a long flight it is nice to have someone waiting. I would never stay anywhere else in Rome.

We have just returned from Rome, where we stayed at Carmen's apartment. It was everything we had hoped for. The location is fabulous, as everyone said. I love to stay in pretty places - it just adds to my enjoyment of the vaction. It's just lovely with air conditioning and plenty of closet space, so your suitcases are out of sight. I loved living in a neighborhood and made use of the local pharmacy, grocery store and gourmet store. There is also a post office nearby, and just a short walk down in front of the church taxis await. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby. Carmen and Mirella both do everything they can to make sure you have everything you need. I'd stay there again without a moment of hesitation. Amazing! From the time we arrived with the prearranged cab service until the time we left with the arranged cab service, this flat was amazing. We stayed from July 4th-July 13 with our 19 year old son, who slept on the pull out chair. Carmen and Mirella were fabulous in making us a map for everything we needed and greeted us with chocolates and a warm welcome. We walked everywhere, the Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Vatican, the downtown area, to great supermarkets and fabulous little bakeries. The sidewalk cafes were great and we even took a train to Florence for the day. Without reservation, we would stay here again and enjoy each day. And the visit with Carmen in her shop was amazing. We exchanged gifts and stories. This was a trip of a lifetime in a "home away from home". Thanks to Carmen and Mirella!

Last Fall my husband and I were lucky enough to spend a month in Carmen's lovely apartment. Our idea was to find a central neighborhood in the old part of Rome, settle in and explore all of Rome. Our choice could not have been better. Carmen was very welcoming. We met Mirella the first day when we locked ourselves out of our apartment and she came to let us in. (We met the neighbors too). The apartment was wonderful: everything fresh and clean with weekly maid service. Bed was comfortable and TV better than at home. What I liked best was the location: right in the middle of old Rome, near Piazza Navonna, yet definitely in a less traveled area - mostly residential and local business. I would jump at the chance to visit Carmen and Mirella again!

My husband and I spent 3 nights in Carmen's apartment in mid-June, and it was just lovely. The apartment is just as described. It was comfortable, had everything we needed, and is in a wonderfullocation. We've spent a fair amount of time in Rome before, but, thanks to the apartment location and very helpful information provided by Carmen and Mirella, we used the Metro and bus system for the first time. The detailed information for the neighborhood, including restaurant recommendations, was wonderful. Carmen was away when we were there, but Mirella was there at our arrival, and made everything so easy, including arranging for our airport transfers. We will be back!

My wife and I just got home from spending three days in Rome following a cruise. I found Carmen's apartment on VRBO and was certainly mot disappointed. It has everything you would need. The location is perfect and well within walking distance to most tourist spots. It is also located 1 1/2 blocks from a major bus route. Rome is amazing and Carmen made our visit all the more special. She was warm, inviting and responsive to all of our needs. For example their was a problem with the hot wwater and she had it fixed within 2 hours. Excellent customer service. Also we had a very early morning flight and Carmen arranged for a car service to pick us up at 4AM and drive us to the airport. She did not overlook the small things either. On arrival she was there to greet us and had a samll bottle of wine in the fridge and some small snacks as well. However the bets part was that this was our 25th anniversarry and she presented us with a hand painted porcelan dish. It was very thoughtful and certainly unexpected. We both hope to return to Rome and would most definately stay in this apartment again. We can't say enough about the apartment or the gracious hospitality we enjoyed. My husband and I stayed here for five nights in April. After viewing several properties in Rome, we chose this one mainly for it's location, size, style and positive comments. All factors turned out to be exactly as presented and pictured. The apartment was located in an area close to transportation connections but also in an area with numerous shops and restaurants - all frequented by locals. In the five days there, we walked to all the major sites, including the Vatican, Borghese Gallery and the Coliseum. The apartment was perfect for two persons - from the decorations to the thoughtful touches throughout, we felt as though we were staying at the home of friends. From the first e-mail inquiry to the date of our departure, we found Carmen and Mirella to be responsive, helpful and proactive in sensing the needs of Rome travelers. For example, local maps, guidebooks, umbrellas, etc., were available for use and advice. Carmen and Mirella remained available as needed but not intrusive during our stay. I highly recommend this property.

I recently stayed in Carmen's apartment with my mom and we had a great time. Carmen and Mirella provided easy to follow information on how to reach the apartment and we had no trouble finding it. The apartment itself is tastefully decorated and well stocked and it is also in a great location!! We were able to walk to all the sights, yet it is tucked away in an area where you feel like part of the neighborhood - not touristy.

We spent the past week in Carmen's apartment. From the moment we began the reservation process to the time the arranged airport transportation arrived to sadly take us back to the airport, the services were perfect. Carmen and Mirella made visiting Rome hassle-free for first timers like us. Communication was excellent and thorough, payment was simple, transportation was right on time and affordable, and lastly the apartment was amazing. The location is perfect for walking to all of the major sites, but we did not feel we were in "touristy" Rome. We felt as if we a part of the neighborhood. Local eateries were plentiful. Our only regret is not being able to visit Carmen's shop to see her beautiful work. We would definitely recommend this apartment for a couple who want a convenient, clean, and affordable place to stay in Rome.

We loved everything about our stay at Carmen's apartment - it was beautifully decorated, the perfect size for two of us, impeccably clean, and well stocked with everything we needed (even coffee!). But best of all is the location - it is the PERFECT home base for everything we wanted to do and see in Rome. We were able to walk almost everywhere, and it's also a couple minutes' walk from a major bus stop to get you to places a bit further afield. Carmen was very helpful when we arrived (on a really early flight), allowing us to store our luggage in her studio until check-in time. She also has a ton of great information, maps, etc. in the apartment for guests to use. My only regret is that we didn't have more time there! We'll definitely be back soon, though. I booked this apartment online for my parents for a week in November 2008. It was my first time using VRBO and am happy to say it was a very easy process. Mirella and Carmen were extremely prompt, accomodating and helpful with their responses via email. My parents thoroughly enjoyed their stay there in this lovely apartment and would highly recommend it. It was a convenient walk to all local amenities and they didn't get a bus or taxi once while in Rome! The only taxis they got were to and from the airport, which Carmen and Mirella booked for them. They were delighted with this, as they have no italian and were not comfortable organising transport to and from the airport themselves. Thanks again Carmen and Mirella!
