Paris is always a good idea - especially when you are staying at Rue Saint-Dominique. This gem of an apartment is located off the serene third courtyard of a charming old building. Its ground floor location permits you to enjoy the plantings in the courtyard through the windows and permits easy access with suitcases and the inevitable shopping bags you will so easily acquire - no puzzling over how to get your luggage and you into a typically teeny French elevator.
David, a young man fluent in English, will meet you at the door upon your arrival and introduce you to the apartment. The apartment has been renovated to take advantage of every inch of its 45 square meters--lots of built-in storage and copious closets--no tripping over your suitcases as you sip champagne in the salon. The décor is clean and contemporary with a paint scheme that is just a little bit sassy.
Unleash your culinary creativity in the gourmet kitchen after you explore the local markets. Relax at the kitchen table with your morning café au lait and a croissant from Stephan Secco, that famous bakery around the corner on rue Jean Nicot. After a day of sightseeing, kick off your shoes, and settle in front of the flat screen TV with a "TV dinner" that will knock your socks off--just pick one of several daily choices prepared to go at the nearby Maison du Jambon.
Wireless internet and unlimited free calls to North America and Europe ensure that your family and friends can be available to share your adventures. And little extras like an alarm clock, umbrellas, guide books, maps, a phrase book, and French/English dictionary are provided.
Did someone say, "location, location, location?" The Number 69 bus is practically at your doorstep and passes so many famous landmarks that a ride is a sightseeing excursion in itself--including the Musee D'Orsay, the Louvre, the Hotel de ville, the Bastille, and Pere LaChaise Cemetery. But before you get on the bus, visit the treasury of boutiques on the rue St. Dominique--enough handbags, shoes, and clothes to excite every shopper and to mesmerize even the non-shopper. Don't forget to look to the left as you exit the apartment building as the Eiffel Tower beckons. Once the shops have closed, you can stroll to the Champs de Mars and watch the Eiffel Tower sparkle like champagne bubbles.
Turn left from the apartment door and you are minutes from one of the most famous market streets in all of Paris, the rue Cler. Turn right and soon you'll enter the Esplanade des Invalides, one of the city's largest open spaces. Sit on a bench and learn a thing or two about boules from the old-timers or just take in the breathtaking Hotel des Invalides with the golden dome of Napoleon's tomb in the background or the glass-domed Grand Palais. Indeed, your stay on the rue St. Dominique puts Paris at your fingertips.

This is the best apartment we have stayed in yet in Paris

As you would expect from a French apartment it is not huge but more than enough for the two of us. Great neighborhood with restaurants, bakeries, stores, etc and yet the apartment is vey quiet. It has been totally modernized and every detail is wonderful. A comprehensive kitchen with utensils, tools, plates, pots, coffee makers, refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, oven microwave, etc. You can really cook here and only two blocks from Rue Cler. We felt immediately at home and will never stay anywhere else when we visit Paris.
Recommended for:Age 55+, sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.
