Comfortable, Spacious 4 Bedroom Cabin with Hot Tub & Ping-Pong
Year Purchased: 1990
Why the Owner Chose Homewood
Our parents originally purchased the cabin in Tahoe because of the beauty of the area, the close proximity to our home in Santa Rosa. They also liked its convenient location to the lake and the access to the off road areas where they enjoyed watching wild life and fishing.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
Our Family Cabin provides us with a cozy and comfortable place to enjoy the fresh mountain air. Enjoy the hot tub on the private back deck. Feeling athletic? Fun times can be had playing ping-pong.
Owner's Map of Homewood
The cabin has been in our family for 20 years. Our children spent happy times with their grandparents at the cabin. They'd enjoy morning hot chocolate made by Grandma. They set up lemonade stands and sold lemonade to hot thirsty people coming off the Rubicon Trail in Jeeps. They built snowmen in the winter. We recently purchased the cabin from Grandma and Grandpa to keep it in the family and continue the traditions. We are happy to share our cabin with other families so that they can create their own happy Tahoe memories.

We had a wonderful time. The cabin was outfitted with everything one could need. The mattress on the King bed is delightful. From my cozy king bed with lots of toasty blankies, I watched the snow fall, dozed and read. We great time hanging out, playing games, hot tub, playing ping pong, watching movies and playing in the snow. I love the "greatroom" feel - so everyone can be together. Also the large dining table was perfect for us all to eat together and play games. I hope to return to this home soon. It is great for a group of people, but would also be lovely for a couple's get away weekend.

We had a total of 12. Grandma, 3 Sibs in their 40's with two spouses & Grandkids ages 20, 19, 17, 16, 3 & 1. We all had a great time. Walked up the Rubicon Trail a bit & did some sledding there (as well as in the yard where the kids built a big snow slide. The hot tub was great. The beds & bedding, well really everything was about perfect. The only trouble we had really was our own fault. We tried to run the dishwasher at the same time as the griddle & the coffee maker & the electric tea pot. My husband is an electrician so he found the circuit breakers & got us going again. Even though the temps were never over about 44 we kept the thermostat set at 62. With the wood burning stove going and the ceiling fan to circulate the warmth we were all super comfy. I highly recommend this house.

My family gets together every year for a week in Tahoe. We were so fortunate to come across "the family cabin" through VRBO. The location was perfect. The house is very convenient to many activities in Chambers area. The house is well maintained and the owner was very accommodating. I would recommend this property summer and winter.

It is a gorgeous, unpretencious space, fit for a huge family. We had 12, including 4 kids and could have held 3 more kids! Unfortunately, the hot tub was broken, but the owners were very responsive. After an attempt to fix the day after blizzard, they discounted our stay. Owners were also responsive to our other questions as well. It's a fabulous winter location, we were dumped on--great skiing near by. Don't pass this one by!
Owner response:The hot tub is now fixed. We regret that it was not available to our wonderful guests.

My extended family of 9 stayed at this lovely cabin for 4 nights last week, including Thanksgiving. We arrived to find a clean, warmly decorated mountain home with comfy sofas, extremely cozy and comfy beds with memory foam pillow tops and pillows. Our hosts even left us bottles of wine and cider as well as a bowl full of fresh fruit. Much to our surprise, the use of the cabin included EVERYTHING in it, from the ice cream in the freezer to pancake mix, to hot chocolate or tea and any spices one might need. We brought all of our food, so didn't need to use anything (except for the ice cream), but it was nice to know we could. We cooked an entire Thanksgiving dinner in the kitchen and were so impressed with how well stocked it was. There were more than enough cooking utensils/containers/pans to get the job done. There was also a crockpot, griddlle and waffle iron, among other things. My husband said he has never seen a vacation rental as thoughtfully equipped as this one . . . and I agree. In addition to the above mentioned, there was an abundance of nice, fluffy towels and plenty of soft blankets to cuddle in while reading or watching a movie. There were also lots of games, puzzles and movies for our use. The cabin is not new, but it is very well maintained and has a tastefully remodeled kitchen and bathrooms. There is a brand new washer and dryer as well. These owners have really made an extra effort to provide their guests with all of the comforts of home. They also quickly responded to the many email questions I had. We are planning to visit here again and recommend it wholeheartedly.
Owner response:Thank you. We appreciate having such wonderful guests.

We stayed here for a weekend with a total of 10 guests and we had a great time! The place was clean, cozy, and comfortable. Full of amenities - towels provided for the spa, kitchen is fully stocked with bake and cookware and pantry items, plenty of fresh clean bath towels, a ping pong table!, a hot tub!, and lots of games and dvds too! And all of our guests slept comfortably as there are plenty of beds to go around. Nice location on the West Shore, away from all the action of the North and South shores, but close enough for easy access. The nearest beach is easily walkable (around 20 minutes). The owners, Debbie and Don, were very responsive to emails and any questions that we had. They were easy to coordinate with and very accommodating. Although we didn't have any kids with us, we could see this being a great place for families to get together as well. We really couldn't have been more pleased with our stay and will definitely stay here again when we need a place for around 10 or so guests. Highly recommended! Two thumbs way up!

4 of us from Boston area needed a place to stay for a few days in the Tahoe City area. This place was far better than we ever expected. Very comfortable, clean, close to everything, cool 'ski lodge' decoration...the whole deal was great and the owners were super easy to work with to make the arrangements. If we get back to Tahoe we will certainly stay here again.

I stayed at the Pell's house for Labor Day weekend with friends and it was perfect. Close to the beach, big backyard with BBQ, spa, and a great kitchen with everything you need. The house is spacious and everyone fit comfortably (there were 10 of us). The owner was gracious and communicated promptly. All in all a great experience and I would definitely come back!!

We had 2 families stay at this wonderful cabin (6 adults and 4 kids (ages 13 to 17) and there was plenty of room for us and then some. We loved the all the pride in this cabin..down to the Christams decorations and lights inside. The kids loved the ping pong and chillin in the hot tub (so, did the dads). This cabin is a must rent and it is in a great location...we plan on coming back again next year. Thank you again Pell family for the use of your cabin!
