This is a beautiful 5-bedroom luxury Georgian manor house on 10 gorgeous acres in West Cork. It is less than a mile to the Atlantic waters, close to Cork City, Kinsale and many activities.
Enter the wide entry hall and you are immediately surrounded by elegance. There is a graceful antique Irish table, a mammoth ornate mirror, a grandfather clock, Oriental rug, gleaming parquet floors, a fine bifurcated staircase and arched windows overlooking the courtyard. Stunning.
The house has a library, a large drawing room, a large dining room with a table that seats 20. The country kitchen has an Aga stove and all the modern conveniences needed to cook wonderful meals. There is a small office with a computer and internet connection. A games room has a dart board and table tennis.
Filled with antiques, books, comfortable and elegant furnishings and windows overlooking the gorgeous landscape, this house is perfect for large families or several small groups traveling together for a celebration or site seeing.
The house's 10 acres are beautiful. A cobbled courtyard is bordered by beautiful gardens. There are lawns and woods. The land is bordered by Courtmacsherry Bay and Dunworley Bays Dunworthley beach is 1 km from the house, under 20 minutes by foot. There are 6 more sandy beaches less than 5 minutes from the house (by car). It's 20 minutes to Inchydonney, a big, open surfing beach (that's not always safe for children). Birding, hiking, fishing, golf, good shopping, fine restaurants and authentic pubs are all very close to the house.
Dublin is 198 miles. Shannon is about 100 miles. Kenmare is about 70 miles. It is about an hour's drive to Cork and Blarney. Kinsale, Timoleague Abbey and Lisnagun Ring Fort are 30-45 minutes from the property. Cork Airport is 45 minutes. Clonakilty is 15 minutes.
Children are warmly welcomed here. Dogs are allowed in the kitchen, game room and courtyard only. All beds have electric blankets and duvets. Cleaning can be arranged at an additional fee. The owners can arrange for the initial grocery shopping to be done for you. With advance notice, some meals can be catered at an additional fee. Broadband phone with free calls to US and Europe is available for €10 per week.
The owners offer the house at a reduced monthly rate in the winter. This is a fine option for anyone seeking a home base while writing or seeing family or just wanting to be in Ireland during a quiet time.
